After watching half a dozen videos on how to do this knot, this is the only one I could follow & complete, I am also using the crimp bead hint to finish other projects , thank you so much Alexandra
Every time we think we've covered the basics enough we see a new wave of people coming into the hobby starting from scratch and eager to learn. These videos really are the heart of what we do. Glad you've enjoyed them!
This was the best explanation of how to do this slip knot that I've seen so far and I've watched a lot of video's. Thank you so much for sharing this video. Wonderful
Glad you like it Joy, we've loved this technique so much over the years that we just did another video on it last month. So nice to be able to keep introducing people to it.
Really like the sparkle crimp bead and how it keeps the rest of the beads in place. Never thought to use crimp beads on leather. Great idea for a necklace too. I don't have the dexterity to manipulate the bracelet with 1 hand (arthritis), but could adjust the knot at the back of a necklace. TFS!
This one can be tricky! We've got another video showing a sliding knot on a smaller cord bracelet, might help to see it from another angle: ruclips.net/video/RXYKx-yAu_U/видео.html
Thank you! My only bracelet has this knot and somehow I undid one end in my sleep! I fixed it with your help but it looks super janky hahahha, either way I still like my ugly bracelet (its sentimental) so I appreciate this video.
It's a tough one, our early attempts looked pretty janky too. You can try practicing the knot a few times on a spare piece of cord a few times and then when you've got your technique down you can tidy up the sentimental bracelet without worrying about putting a bunch of extra wear on that cord.
It's not too late for me,I know it's 2020 now but I still got to learn on this..yes I enjoyed watching this video and thank you for the tutorial, you made awesome!
LOL I missed the part on adjusting for your wrist, it came out big enough to fit Shrek 😂 redid it and now it fits. I have small wrists so 2 feet would have been a good length for me. Thank you, super easy :)
If the knot is done correctly, it will keep from coming lose, however, you can use a little adhesive on the knot for extra security. Thanks for watching!
Thanks Sharon! If you'd like to make the bracelet featured in the tutorial we have a project page for it here: beadaholique.com/products/wooden-lustre-bracelet
This is a fantastic video! And I also never thought to use crimp cover beads to keep the rest in place!! But what size crimp bead would I use for 1.5mm leather cord?
The crimp covers in this video will work on a 1.5mm cord, but you can potentially use smaller crimp covers around 2mm or 3mm. We have some more options here: www.beadaholique.com/beading-components/crimp-ends-covers-cord-ends/crimp-bead-covers
The knotmaking worked for me but I needed 7" of tail to make the loops. However, the finished product came out kind of big even cinched down to the smallest. Is there a way to gauge how snugly the bracelet will fit when it's finished?
We tend to feel it out as we go, testing it out on the hand after we've got our first knot in place, as Alexandra does in the video around 2:25 and judging things from there. These knots can be a pain to get right but don't be afraid to undo the second one and do it again to get the length just right before you trim your tails.
Hi, great tutorial...One question: I purchased a lot of crystal healing beads like amethyst and turquoise etc in 4mm, 6mm and 12mm, and 2mm cord as well as 1mm hemp cord and the holes in all of the beads are too small for either cord. Is this normal? I also purchased a bead reamer but its not serrated like a file its just smooth so I dont logically understand how that could ream the hole larger... Can you tell me what I did wrong? Thank you
1mm cord is still fairly thick, gemstone beads will often have holes under 1mm, Reaming the bead holes isn't a bad idea, but it doesn't sound like you got a good reamer if it's completely smooth to the touch. A good reamer will usually have a rough coating of industrial diamonds, sort of a sandpaper-like texture. Still though, even with a high quality reamer it sounds like a lot of work to re-size those beads, you might wanna consider a narrower cord. We have a 0.55mm hemp cord, might be a thin enough fit for those beads: beadaholique.com/products/beadsmith-natural-hemp-twine-bead-cord-0-55mm-394-feet-120-meters
The adjustable knots are easy to adjust. Depending on your material, you may need just a little bit of force to move the knots around. Thanks for watching!
The bracelet in the video uses approximately 2.5 feet of cord. You would need an extra 4 to 5 inches of cord for every additional inch you want to add to the bracelet. Thanks for watching!
The cord we used is 2mm so you could use any bead with a hole slightly larger than that. You can see all the components we used for the bracelet here and get a sense of the measurements of the different beads: beadaholique.com/products/wooden-lustre-bracelet
With this style of bracelet the technique is pretty much. If you want to make a piece like this but with the 7 focal beads spaced out by knots you would start by cutting yourself a length of cord, finding the center of it by folding it in half, then sliding on the bead you want to have at the very center, knotting it in place on either side with overhand knots or whatever kind of decorative knot you'd like, and then continuing to add beads and additional knots to each side.
We've got a few others videos that show the slide knot technique. Seeing it applied to different projects can help: ruclips.net/video/lJ7BwvrsOfQ/видео.html ruclips.net/video/RXYKx-yAu_U/видео.html ruclips.net/video/PmMZYE9cATo/видео.html
Please, what size beads were you using? I'm not sure enough about telling sizes. I want to order from your site to make this bracelet, but do not know the proper size bead to order. Is a 20mm bead too large? Thank you
The beads range between 7mm and 10mm. For reference, a 20mm bead on a similar cord would look twice as big as the wood beads in this project. Aww thank you, I'm glad we could be the one to help! Enjoy your bracelet!
most simple easiest instructions at last I found directions I can see steps clearly.
The BEST for an adjustable bracelet!💝
Thank you for the tutorial for double sliding knots. I use it on 3mm leather rope and it snuck tight and secure.
Wow! I’m going to try this! Thank you! Love the little caps at the end! Thank you so much!
Very nice easy to follow tutorials! You cover the "basics" which are the foundation of bracelet making. Thank you.

Best video on you tube for making this kind of bracelets
Thank you!
Like the crimp cover idea. Thanks.
This was the best explanation of how to do this slip knot that I've seen so far and I've watched a lot of video's. Thank you so much for sharing this video. Wonderful
Thank you!
Thanks so much for showing how to adjust it "on" the arm. I appreciate it.
Thank you so much! I appreciated the close up and your explanations! You made it seem so simple!
EXCELLENT TUTORIAL 🥰🥰🥰❤❤❤!!!
I LOVE YOUR BEAUTIFUL BRACLET 🥰🥰🥰❤❤❤!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING YOUR AMAZING TALENT WITH ALL OF US 🥰🥰🥰❤❤❤!!!
Very cool. I like that idea of using the bead crimp as a bead stopper. Thanks for sharing.
I like this idea too .. it looks much nicer than a big chunky knot!! Thanks for posting : )
The crimp covers are genius!
Glad you like it Joy, we've loved this technique so much over the years that we just did another video on it last month. So nice to be able to keep introducing people to it.
Thank you! Been looking for tutorial that includes getting a measurement for both loose & snug fit and where the knots come out evenly spaced.
Beautiful
Thank you so much! Very detailed and easy to follow for a beginner like me! Great tutorial!
I love barrel knots, also using crimp covers gives it a professional look, t y.
Very nice. Thank you sharing. liked and subscribed.

Michelle's Paper Creations
I do too. However, I would have used a silver color crimp bead since she had silver beads in her design.
Thanks for the instructions just takes a bit of practice but you are easy to follow great tutorial!
I’ve been trying this for a while. I haven’t mastered it, but I think this tutorial is the best and will help me a lot! Thank you!

@@beadaholique Thank you!😊
This is a great tutorial video on knotting it’s basic and easy.🙏
Thanks so much!
Interesting! I have 8 bracelets made; I'll try this method to finish them.
Thank you! My only bracelet has this knot and somehow I undid one end in my sleep! I fixed it with your help but it looks super janky hahahha, either way I still like my ugly bracelet (its sentimental) so I appreciate this video.

We had to make this design a few times too at first just to get the knots looking right, glad it turned out great for you in the end!
Thank you for the tutorial. What keeps knot from coming lose?

Can I use 0.5mm hemp string for this design?
Thank you so much!
Glad we could help!
Hi, great tutorial...One question: I purchased a lot of crystal healing beads like amethyst and turquoise etc in 4mm, 6mm and 12mm, and 2mm cord as well as 1mm hemp cord and the holes in all of the beads are too small for either cord.

I love this tutorial, thank uou. X
Love this!
Is there a diagram somewhere? I can't see the knot because of the angle of the video. Thank you.
Regrettably, we do not have additional instructions for this project. Thanks for your understanding.
Is this bracelet as challenging to tighten up once it’s on as it looks in the video? How about getting it off?
The adjustable knots are easy to adjust. Depending on your material, you may need just a little bit of force to move the knots around. Thanks for watching!
Love the tutorial but it keeps turning out too big and won’t adjust down. Any suggestions?
Does your cord have any stretch to it? That could be causing the issue. Will it adjust at all? If not, perhaps the knot is too tight?
Awesome video! Question, how long would the cord be for a larger sized wrist? Thank you.
The bracelet in the video uses approximately 2.5 feet of cord. You would need an extra 4 to 5 inches of cord for every additional inch you want to add to the bracelet. Thanks for watching!
I always forget how to do this knot! Think I should just do it a bunch of times so it "sticks!"
Practice makes perfect! Thanks for watching!
I keep forgetting how to do it, too--especially when my young nieces are waiting for me to give them their necklaces...
What size hole beads would I need please
The cord we used is 2mm so you could use any bead with a hole slightly larger than that. You can see all the components we used for the bracelet here and get a sense of the measurements of the different beads: beadaholique.com/products/wooden-lustre-bracelet
How do you do this when you have knots between the beads
With this style of bracelet the technique is pretty much. If you want to make a piece like this but with the 7 focal beads spaced out by knots you would start by cutting yourself a length of cord, finding the center of it by folding it in half, then sliding on the bead you want to have at the very center, knotting it in place on either side with overhand knots or whatever kind of decorative knot you'd like, and then continuing to add beads and additional knots to each side.
What size crimp did you use please
We used these 4mm crimp covers: beadaholique.com/products/gold-plated-stardust-sparkle-crimp-bead-covers-4mm-144
Can you tell me the length of the rope in centimeters?
We recommend starting with approximately 80cm of cord.
How much leather cord should you begin with for an average size bracelet?
2.5 to 3 feet should be enough. Our genuine leather cord is available by the yard. Thanks so much!
were can you buy the leather at
do i really need 2 1/2 feet for a braclet? i thought that length is for necklaces
could you use only one slide knot?
We have a video on how to do just one knot available here: ruclips.net/video/Xyg79qMyMIA/видео.html
Thanks for watching!
how long for the string?
This kit uses approximately 2.5 feet (0.8 meters) of cord.
how can you do this if you have 2 cords on each side?
Denise Coffey use the square knots with another cord. :)
I have not tried it but it should work in a similar way. Just use both cords as if they are one cord.
What do you mean "curve that tail over on itself like so" it's barely visible what your doing 😑 I wish I could find the tutorial that made sense
Move your hands once in a while
Can you show the first knot a little better? Thanks

Nice tutorial but a diagram on how to make the knot or a clearer shot of the knot would be nice.
I really dislike this bracelet as the knot is not secure even if tight, which then makes it hard to slide.

This needs to be done from a different angle so WE CAN SEE WHAT YOU’RE DOING WITHOUT YOUR HANDS IN THE WAY. Not everyone here is an experienced beader.
I found this absolutely impossible to follow
Your hands are so huge I can't see how you make the slide knots:(
I can see it pretty clearly
