Omg you say it better than this terrible video instructions, my machine was turning off everytime, I was more than 7 seconds 🫠
These directions were so much better. I would only add that I did the process 3 times to make sure the descaling solution was fully cleaned from machine (tip for OCD 😅)
Better instructions than the video. I reminded the video several times and rewatched it - couldn’t get it to descale until I followed you instructions s. Thank you
Read this first. When holding the button down for 7 seconds do not let go of the button after 7 seconds. The light will turn off and then wait for it to turn on and start to blink before letting go of the button. This also goes for the second time you have to hold down the button for 7 seconds. This is why the descaling mode won't turn on. I tried many times to follow the video and had to call the number given below on the previous comment, and this was what they told me, and it worked! Finally!!
So nobody else has to waste their time writing down the instructions, like I just did, I have listed them below, including Jen Trinidad's essential comment at the two 7-second-hold points in the process. You're welcome. ;-D Turn on the machine by pushing the button Open and eject used capsule Reclose the machine and leave the top lever in the unlocked position Empty the used capsule container and the cup support Pour the descaling solution into the water tank and add 17 oz or 500 ml of water To activate descaling mode, hold down the button for at least 7 seconds. The button will start blinking quickly When holding the button down for 7 seconds do not let go of the button after 7 seconds. The light will turn off and then wait for it to turn on and start to blink before letting go of the button. This also goes for the second time you have to hold down the button for 7 seconds. You have 45 seconds to enter the descaling mode by following the next steps Lock the machine by turning the lever to the left; then unlock again by turning to the right Hold down the button again for at least 7 seconds while the lever is kept in the unlocked position When holding the button down for 7 seconds do not let go of the button after 7 seconds. The light will turn off and then wait for it to turn on and start to blink before letting go of the button. This also goes for the second time you have to hold down the button for 7 seconds. Under the coffee outlet, place an empty container with a capacity of at least 20 oz or 600 ml To start descaling, lock the machine and push the button Wait while all of the descaling solution goes through the machine The machine will stop automatically when complete Thoroughly rinse the water tank and cup support Fill the water tank with fresh water Push the button to rinse to rinse the machine The machine will stop automatically when complete To exit the descaling mode, hold down the button for at least 7 seconds The button will stop blinking quickly and will stay lit Descaling is completed Wait at least 10 minutes before using the machine
If you don't hold the button down a second time for 7+ seconds the descaler will never flow through. I had to attempt to follow the directions 1/2 dozen times for more before i finally got it right. I'm glad i read some of the comments before i gave up. Its finally working! wooohoo!
JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH NESPRESSO: Here's what finally worked. Unplug the machine. Pop the lid up. Close lid. Lock it. Press the power button but DON'T LET GO. While holding the button, plug the machine, release the button et voila - It is now reset and you are ready to run the 'simple' instructions in this video.
THANK YOU!!!!!!! OMFG, I was ready to yeet this thing off of my balcony after reading gazillion instructions in this thread. This worked for me. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
When decscaling follow directions below on Jen Trinidad entry, NOT as the directions say in the video. But remember to push button again briefly after you have locked it for the last time to start the process. Dont you think that a machine that costs this much could come with a descale dedicated button rather than a lot of nonsense and time wasted going online!.
What a vital step and wasn't even mentioned. Funny how the first mention was so obvious to hold the button down and people praised that comment but missing a step as pressing the button to execute wasn't mentioned. I thought after locking it at the finale step it would just enitiate the descaleing process. Thank you
Wow thanks to Jen Trinidad for making this process simple. That’s a crazy procedure to descale a coffee machine. Do the newer models have the same descaling procedures? Nespresso please make it simpler!!
This is our second K-Classic. We had our first one for many years, so when we had to replace it, we wanted nothing else but this exact ruclips.net/user/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf model. We use it for about three people everyday in the morning. The taste and quick brew is one of the reasons we like it so much. There are so many choices of brands of coffee that we would grab what was on sale and test the different brands from there. I would definitely recommend trying different brands of coffee to find the ones you like the most because there are brands that quite frankly taste horrible.
Viewed the video for descaling and found it to be extremely helpful. Don’t mind the 20 minute cleaning time for getting such great tasting coffee. Love this machine.
It is time consuming, but so important! I had gotten lazy and hadn’t descaled in a long time… cause the bearings in the machine to become extremely loud, which meant we had to put a new bearing in! Not easy, but it worked! Regular descaling should help with this & prolong the life of the machine
After you get the button to blink for the first time and then do the lock and unlock sequence described in video, button is blinking again. In order for it to work, you need to press and hold the button till it stops blinking and keep holding it until I start blinking again. After that Lock again and press the button one more time. It will start descaling!!
You might be stuck either in this loop or the other 35-second reset loop for hours as I was. And no matter what I tried, descaling would not start (like you hear the click-click-x5 noise but the process won’t start sucking up water from the tank). If none of the instructions work (including ones saying you need to clean the rotating spike cover or clearing out an air bubble or unclog whatever), try using a real Nespresso pod to make a cup of coffee, not with the descaling solution water, but just plain water! It’s up to you to drink it or not, but mine didn’t taste that bad. Now, try the descaling just one more time. After so many tries, you should have perfected the timing of 7 seconds even without using a stopwatch or timer app. Do follow other tips here, and Jen’s tip works.
This video is so misleading when it says hold the button for at least 7 sec. No hold it down until it blinks. Read Jen Trinidad below. Thanks to her post, I did it!
@@nespresso you can help by RE-DOING THE VIDEO WITH THE CORRECT INFO. I know you keep turning out new machines (that all do the same thing) but you should still support previous models properly
Keisha Tutt Waites exactly...I tried to do this while at work . They probably thought I was crazy!! I kept walking back and forth to the kitchen where I was trying to descale my machine then I decided to bring my machine home and luckily read the comments from Jen... OMG!
Hello? @Nespresso pay attention to us!!! Re-do this video to be accurate at least! And read the comments for even better ideas, like printable PDF instructions so I don’t have to write it down while I stand there for 2 hours trying to get this to work.
This is the most convoluted and unnecessary process. It could be way simpler by just adding a descaling button that takes care of this process start to finish.
Some people spent more than 20 minutes thinking about the negative comment to post. After cleaning my machine twice I do it without any instructions. Iam here to today to teach my daughter how to clean her machine. 😊
Worked as expected, except you have to hold the button longer than 7 seconds. My descaling solution was pink, not sure that matters? I just paused the video through each step and I had no issues. It does take a little longer than 20 minutes though. I used a timer. Good luck to all!
Not sure why there is a visual that takes 3 minutes to watch when the process only takes 30 seconds. - Empty the capsule container and the cup support - Fill the water tank with descaling solution - Place a container under the spot that holds at least can capture all the water in the tank or prepare to empty /switch it a cup out every few pumps during descaling. - In the unlock position, hold the button down for at least 7 seconds. - Within 45 seconds lock the machine and unlock it -In the unlocked position, Hold down the button again for at least 7 seconds -Lock the machine and press the button. The machine will start to pump the solution through in bursts of a few seconds. - Let all of the descaling solution flow through the machine -Thoroughly rinse the water tank and cup support - Fill the water tank with fresh water -Press the button to rinse the machine -To exit the descaling mode hold the button down for at least 7 seconds - Allow the machine to dry for before using it. I personally like to descale with another tank of straight water to rinse the internals out.
Indeed, without that little nuance in the "instructional" video, the whole process of descaling would have been useless or impossible. Bravo Nespresso for the omission and thank you indeed to Jen.
There's a error when directing you to "fill" the reservoir for rinsing while she only appears to put 20oz. If you fill it you'll need several cups handy as the machine will entry empty all of the water.
It wasn't working for me either so i did what Jen Trinidad said in the comments section. You have to hold a button for 8 seconds then the light turns off and when it turns back on that is when you let go of the button. So hold it for 10 seconds to be safe and it should work. Also my descaling solution is blue. The water does not flow continuously when it is descaling but in spurts.
I've had my VertuoLine machine for four years now. I use it daily and adore it. However, whenever I have to descale it, the instructions make me want to chew through my restraints. I always forget to throw out the "7 second rule"....every time. I called George Clooney for assistance but Amal won't put him on the phone. All I'm asking is that he make a new video....correct the instructions......and remove the porn music background. Disturbing....very disturbing.
Don't waste your time watching the video, just call customer service. They are fantastic. The young man who helped me was patient and extremely helpful. He even had a sense of humor.
You should coordinate this with your actual website instructions. On the Nespresso site descaling step by step guide it says .8 L of water mixed with solution. That is actually double the 17 oz that you recommend in this video. So which is it???
When the descaling was done I can’t exit descaling mode , I hold for 7 seconds and the machine turns off, then I turn it on and its still blinking orange how do I get out of descaling mode?
**NOTE: DURING THR RINSE CYCLE THE MACHINE WILL KEEP GOING UNTIL ALL THE WATER IN THR WATER CONTAINER IS EMPTY THEREFORE CAUSING A SPILL IN THE CONTAINER THAT COLLECTS THE WATER. YOU WILL HAVE TO EVENTUALLY HIT THE BUTTON FOR IT TO STOP.
After searching for the right video, trying this many times cuz apparently 7secs isnt really 7seconds and then the next press wasnt "done in time" i called them...finally entered descaling mode but it wouldn't descale....busy so i just left it in there for a couple weeks and just now plugged it back in and it started...holy balls. I personally couldnt remember the last time we used it so i descaled a couple times and rinsed a couple.....stuck in descaling mode..read a comme t and kept hild of the button and finally free!!! I wish theyd have just had a button.
First time descaling this machine. I’ve descaled Original line machines multiple times, though, and those machines empty the water reservoir in a continuous flow. My Evoluo machine, however, is doing a sort of pause/go/pulsing type of thing. Is this normal?
Hi Matt, we'd be happy to help. Please send us a private message with your contact information and we'll gladly arrange for a callback from a Machine Technician. You can also contact the Nespresso Club anytime via our toll-free number, 800-562-1465, for technical assistance. Thanks.
~~~~Please update u r video~~~~ This video is misleading.. please read the comment below. I let go after 7 second and it was not working. It was so frustrating while descaling. ~~~~Call customer service ~~~~
The amount of times i can get it descaling but Can't get it out of descaling mode is trying me bonkers! Light blinking all the time no matter how long i hold the button.
I must be really thick as took me several tries to get this working. So confusing. Lock, unlock, press button for 7 seconds and then unlock lock and press button for 7 seconds. I am still confused but it seems to be doing something!
It didn't work for me after a few times of trying. I eventually called Nespresso and the very kind and patient customer service rep walked me through every step until my machine actually started descaling. TY Nespresso!!!
I still never feel I get it right! After the solution goes thru the machine is still blinking. Do you then add the water and press the button again or is the machine working on something? The mr coffee gives step by step. Nespresso please redo the video
Excusez-moi madame quand on fait les tests pour nettoyage de la machine expresso volé tout et c'est pas bon parce que moi j'ai ça fait une heure je fais avec la même chose 7 secondes 45 secondes et au froid et tout ça ça marche pas bien il faut cliquer 3 fois sur le bouton il marche mais comment vous connaît pas fait nettoyer cette machine
The company took a lot of time making this video clean and sleek looking. Yet it is filled with errors in explanation. They should focus more on accuracy rather than just looks, same with machine too! Good coffee not such a good product for the price.
If you are just running filtered water through to rinse it, the "Descaling mode" will be loiud and do nothing the first 5 minutes. round mibute 6 or 7 it will start to run through the machine. Nespresso, for such an expensive machine why do you make it this difficult. please get a descale button .
Why would there be a video on descaling your Vertuo Evoluo that doesn't accurately tell you how to descale your machine?? What a frustrating, waste of time! If it wasn't for Jen Trinidad's comment I would still be trying to descale my machine. Update this video and make it user friendly, or write up how to descale your machine and include it in the box. No one should have to call customer service to figure this process out. In an age of technology, this should have been simple.
Hello Andriana. Give us a call at the number listed on our Nespresso website, and one of our specialists would be happy to guide you through the descaling process.
Nespresso is an overly-complicated, pretentious and high priced waste of money. This "instructional" video is a great example. Not only is it convoluted, it's actually WRONG. For a machine of this price, they should have a more user-friendly and modern interface. Infuriating. Plus, the coffees (if you can get the contraption to brew anything) don't taste good either. Feel like a sucker for buying Nespresso. Avoid.
Worst tutorial ever! Get it together Nespresso. Thanks Jen Trinidad. I’ve been able to descale but still can’t get it to rinse. I’ve had to walk away a few times. So aggravating.
Hi Sarka, thanks for your feedback, and for descaling your Nespresso machine. We're disappointed to hear you're having issues, and if you'll give us a call at 1-800-562-1465 our machine experts will be happy to assist.
None of this worked for me so I just used the easy steps of pushing it three times quickly until it drained then did it again with fresh water. These instructions are terrible. Nespresso should've added a descaling button
If any additional assistance is needed to descale your machine, kindly call the Nespresso Club anytime at 800-562-1465. Thanks for your understanding and have a good day.
Just got this machine for fathers day . If my wife and myself drink 2 cups each a day that's ----- $ 5.00 a day or a $150.00 a month are you kidding me ???
Sounds like an expensive habit. The coffee this machine makes is delicious and well balanced. But if you bought that much good coffee at a cafe it would cost you hundreds more each month....so either be proud of your investment or stop drinking so much coffee. Not sure why you even need to put this out there,
So nobody else has to waste their time writing down the instructions, like I just did, I have listed them below, including Jen Trinidad's essential comment at the two 7-second-hold points in the process. You're welcome. ;-D
Turn on the machine by pushing the button
Open and eject used capsule
Reclose the machine and leave the top lever in the unlocked position
Empty the used capsule container and the cup support
Pour the descaling solution into the water tank and add 17 oz or 500 ml of water
To activate descaling mode, hold down the button for at least 7 seconds.
When holding the button down for 7 seconds do not let go of the button after 7 seconds. The light will turn off and then wait for it to turn on and start to blink before letting go of the button. This also goes for the second time you have to hold down the button for 7 seconds.
You have 45 seconds to enter the descaling mode by following the next steps
Lock the machine by turning the lever to the left; then unlock again by turning to the right
Hold down the button again for at least 7 seconds while the lever is kept in the unlocked position
When holding the button down for 7 seconds do not let go of the button after 7 seconds. The light will turn off and then wait for it to turn on and start to blink before letting go of the button. This also goes for the second time you have to hold down the button for 7 seconds.
Under the coffee outlet, place an empty container with a capacity of at least 20 oz or 600 ml
To start descaling, lock the machine and push the button
Wait while all of the descaling solution goes through the machine
The machine will stop automatically when complete
Thoroughly rinse the water tank and cup support
Fill the water tank with fresh water
Push the button to rinse to rinse the machine
The machine will stop automatically when complete
To exit the descaling mode, hold down the button for at least 7 seconds
The button will stop blinking quickly and will stay lit
Descaling is completed
Wait at least 10 minutes before using the machine
Hello. Could you please indicate your country of living so that we could assist you?
This happened to me too! It emptied all of the rinsing water...which was close to 1L. Good thing I had a large container...
It wasn't working for me either so i did what Jen Trinidad said in the comments section. You have to hold a button for 8 seconds then the light turns off and when it turns back on that is when you let go of the button. So hold it for 10 seconds to be safe and it should work. Also my descaling solution is blue. The water does not flow continuously when it is descaling but in spurts.
thanks, this really worked!!!
Thanks so much for your help! After repeated times of trying and googling a possible issue, finally the answer!!!
I've had my VertuoLine machine for four years now. I use it daily and adore it. However, whenever I have to descale it, the instructions make me want to chew through my restraints. I always forget to throw out the "7 second rule"....every time. I called George Clooney for assistance but Amal won't put him on the phone. All I'm asking is that he make a new video....correct the instructions......and remove the porn music background. Disturbing....very disturbing.
LOL!!
Haha agreed, I thought the same thing about the music. It’s very odd o.0 lol
How do you clean or loosen up the coffee pods capsule catcher… It doesn’t move freely to pick up pods to transfer in the holder area
Hi there, thank you for your question. As this is not a removable part, we would recommend wiping it with a clean damp cloth. Many thanks.
Thank you Fred !!!
Don't waste your time watching the video, just call customer service. They are fantastic. The young man who helped me was patient and extremely helpful. He even had a sense of humor.
We're so happy to hear that Julian's assistance made your experience easier, Keisha. This will bring a smile to his face. Enjoy your Nespresso.
@@nespresso Why don't you guys make the descaling steps simple? If this is not gonna work for me, I will throw your Nespresso in the trash!
You should coordinate this with your actual website instructions. On the Nespresso site descaling step by step guide it says .8 L of water mixed with solution. That is actually double the 17 oz that you recommend in this video. So which is it???
Thanks for letting us know. We will have this corrected.
I love my Nespresso Vertuoline but I absolutely hate this descaling process it's too long..I can see 8 minutes but not 20
When the descaling was done I can’t exit descaling mode , I hold for 7 seconds and the machine turns off, then I turn it on and its still blinking orange how do I get out of descaling mode?
So when does the button blink 3 times? When it’s turned on? Not sure how to check when I should descale.
Hi Tony, the Evoluo machine will alert you to descale when the light starts to blink orange after turning on.
**NOTE: DURING THR RINSE CYCLE THE MACHINE WILL KEEP GOING UNTIL ALL THE WATER IN THR WATER CONTAINER IS EMPTY THEREFORE CAUSING A SPILL IN THE CONTAINER THAT COLLECTS THE WATER. YOU WILL HAVE TO EVENTUALLY HIT THE BUTTON FOR IT TO STOP.
After searching for the right video, trying this many times cuz apparently 7secs isnt really 7seconds and then the next press wasnt "done in time" i called them...finally entered descaling mode but it wouldn't descale....busy so i just left it in there for a couple weeks and just now plugged it back in and it started...holy balls.
I personally couldnt remember the last time we used it so i descaled a couple times and rinsed a couple.....stuck in descaling mode..read a comme t and kept hild of the button and finally free!!!
I wish theyd have just had a button.
Soniy depends how you fast you count the seven seconds in your head. 😂. My solution: push the button until it starts blinking 😂. It worked.
How do we know when it’s time to descale/ how often should we do it?
Hello. Can you please identify your country so we could further look into this for you?
@@nespresso That's my question too. How often should we descale? I'm from Canada.
@@nespressohave you read any of the other comments on this video?!?! Fix the video!!!
Why must you empty the pod container?
Hi! It helps to ensure the cleaning is thorough and prevents overflow.
@@nespresso I don’t mean in general…I’m asking why this needs to be done in order to perform the descaling process…?
It's a best practice rather than a necessary step for the machine to enter the descaling function.
First time descaling this machine. I’ve descaled Original line machines multiple times, though, and those machines empty the water reservoir in a continuous flow. My Evoluo machine, however, is doing a sort of pause/go/pulsing type of thing. Is this normal?
Yeah this process was excessive, thought the machine was going to break but these steps worked so thanks…I guess
The video says to add 500 ml of water, but the written instructions say to add .8 litres....
This isn't working for me @Nespresso - what's up? Tried it literally 6 times.
My machine did not behave like this. I followed the instructions to the letter. I don't understand why.
Hello. Please let us know where you are contacting us from, so we could further assist you.
I dont understand why they couldn't put the instructions in the box. Why the extra step of going to get my ohone and going online.
We appreciate your honest feedback, and will note this to our team.
I must be really thick as took me several tries to get this working. So confusing. Lock, unlock, press button for 7 seconds and then unlock lock and press button for 7 seconds. I am still confused but it seems to be doing something!
It worked at the 1st time! Count 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003…, 2007.
I still never feel I get it right! After the solution goes thru the machine is still blinking. Do you then add the water and press the button again or is the machine working on something? The mr coffee gives step by step. Nespresso please redo the video
Great Video especially providing Steps 1,2 and 3; then followed by flushing the system thereafter.
The video was very complicated to understand. Nespresso should have step by step instructions, that come with the machine.
Wow I watched like 10 different ppl none of them were correct and this is the only way it worked the first time
The company took a lot of time making this video clean and sleek looking. Yet it is filled with errors in explanation. They should focus more on accuracy rather than just looks, same with machine too! Good coffee not such a good product for the price.
The machine doesn't stop automatically
If you are just running filtered water through to rinse it, the "Descaling mode" will be loiud and do nothing the first 5 minutes. round mibute 6 or 7 it will start to run through the machine. Nespresso, for such an expensive machine why do you make it this difficult. please get a descale button .
Hello. Please let us know where are you contacting us from, so we could further assist you.
Why would there be a video on descaling your Vertuo Evoluo that doesn't accurately tell you how to descale your machine?? What a frustrating, waste of time! If it wasn't for Jen Trinidad's comment I would still be trying to descale my machine. Update this video and make it user friendly, or write up how to descale your machine and include it in the box. No one should have to call customer service to figure this process out. In an age of technology, this should have been simple.
This won’t work for mine.
Hello Andriana. Give us a call at the number listed on our Nespresso website, and one of our specialists would be happy to guide you through the descaling process.
Crazy thought just make a descaling button
Oh people...it’s not that hard... just stop the video between steps
Nespresso is an overly-complicated, pretentious and high priced waste of money. This "instructional" video is a great example. Not only is it convoluted, it's actually WRONG. For a machine of this price, they should have a more user-friendly and modern interface. Infuriating. Plus, the coffees (if you can get the contraption to brew anything) don't taste good either. Feel like a sucker for buying Nespresso. Avoid.
Worst tutorial ever! Get it together Nespresso. Thanks Jen Trinidad. I’ve been able to descale but still can’t get it to rinse. I’ve had to walk away a few times. So aggravating.
