We’re Matt & Karla, a Canadian couple with two totally different backgrounds.
Matt is the “quintessentially Canadian”, born under the northern lights in Northern Alberta with family all over the country, whereas Karla is originally from Mexico City, bringing a totally fresh perspective to a country she has fallen in love with.
Over the past 10 years, we have travelled to 42 countries spanning six continents, which has given us the expertise to plan amazing trips and find memorable experiences.
In 2017, we decided to explore our own massive backyard with Road to 150, a 150-day #roadtrip across #Canada, witnessing the beauty and diversity of this country and sharing our experiences through video, pictures, social media, and articles. It is a lovely area. I used to spend quite a bit of time in Oyama (both summer and winter), and swimming in Kalamalka Lake was always a treat. If you get over to Okanagan Lake, keep your eyes open for Ogopogo.

I’ve never been to Vernon, but I’ve gone to Kelowna. I really like the landscape and beauty of that area. Just like Carla if money was no problem buying a house in that area would be wonderful 😊

@@MustDoCanada Swan Lake was a great place to paddle kayaks. We tried to get onto Kalamalka but couldn’t find a good launch site. The beach was too busy.

@@robertweber9895 That's good to hear! I know sometimes, in dim light when we use the GoPro in some cases, it's not great but the whole video shouldn't be bad.
Vernon is spectacular and cheaper than Kelowna. If you have a big enough desire, you’ll find a way to move there. Contact a good local realtor and get him/her to start with your criteria and begin your search…..it won’t get a lot cheaper over time.
We’re waiting for the “crash”. Hopefully next year will be 2008 again
@@MustDoCanada Remember, timing any market is dangerous. A good deal is far more achievable than a great deal.
@@woodenclogs5830 forsure but a 25% increase in 12 months is unsustainable. We bought in 2007 and 12 months later it dropped 35%. Still hasn’t recovered 14 years later and effectively ruined 10 years of our lives haha. Can’t do that again :)
@@MustDoCanada I hear you. Calgary was our home and retired to the island. It is always subject to the vagaries of the oil industry which you got caught up in. Vernon is not. Good luck!🤞
