For those visiting Vancouver and not renting a vehicle, you can get from the airport to downtown on the SkyTrain, and from Canada Place there is a shuttle bus that can take you up to Capilano Suspension Bridge.
A bit further north of Capilano Suspension Bridge is Grouse Mountain, which is a great year-round destination. Obviously in the winter you have all the winter sports, but in the summer there are hiking trails, disc golf, lumberjack shows, raptor shows, and much more.

    • @MustDoCanada

Thanks for you comment. 1. Can I buy a card to add money into a transit card at the airport? Like Toronto, we have presto cards 💳 that we can add money too to use public transit.
      2. Cap bridge and the front are on my list. Been looking at videos and these help ❤😊

@@VOBrad11the equivalent here is called Compass Card, and you can get them through the Compass Vending Machine at any SkyTrain station, including the one at the airport. But you can also just pay by tapping your credit card, so a Compass Card is not needed.

I used to work on a cruise before and every week we docked in Vancouver. So, every week I just stroll around downtown and enjoy the city and the weather obviously. This city is magical. I love every corner of it. Watching this video makes me miss Vancouver so much. Hope to be able to go back there another time.

Capilano Suspension Bridge can be combined with going up the Skyride to Grouse Mountain, and also visiting Cleveland Dam and the fish hatchery (the Capilano loop walk).
All of these are along Capilano road, and the public bus connections from downtown are fairly simple. There are also shuttles. You might even include stopping at Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver, because that is where the Seabus meets the 236 bus to Grouse, and there is a market and plaza with many restaurants.

My wife and I visited Vancouver earlier this year, and we used this video to build a template for our trip. It worked out perfectly, and we'd highly recommend you do the same. The Capilano Suspension Bridge park was far more impressive than I thought it would be, and they obviously take pride in running that attraction. The service during dinner there was outstanding. The highlight of our trip was renting a bike and riding counter clockwise around Stanley Park, with a stop for hand-scooped ice cream along the way.

my idea as to why this city is so charming (aside the more moderate weather, lol) is that the topologically natural confinement forced the city to develop a somewhat denser urbanisation compared to many other North American cities. that's why it has a slight European touch to it (San Francisco would be another, similar example.) skyrocket high housing prices are an unfortunate side effect, though.

If you have a day to spare (and a car), I suggest packing a lunch and go nature exploring. Start at the Lynn Canyon Bridge (a free suspension bridge), then drive to Cleveland Dam. At the dam, walk down to salmon hatchery. If the timing is right, then you can even see the salmon spawn. If you're feeling energetic, the Grouse Grind is not far away.
After that, drive on to Horseshoe Bay and explore a bit. The scenery is gorgeous. Then head north to Porteau Cove for more views. Shannon Falls is next and if Grouse Grind wasn't enough, you can hike up the Chief. (about 3+ hours). Finally, drive up to Tantalus lookout, then turn around and drive back to Vancouver. (or continue north to whistler)
Try to time it so you can make it to the Quercus point in Murrin Provincial Park in time for sunset. The hike up there is pretty easy, takes about 30 minutes. So if sunset is 7, get started on the hike at 6pm. IMO, best sunset ever. Bring a flashlight because it'll be dark going down.

Not quite sure. You can find tours on Viator and Get Your Guide but in terms of a personal guide, I'm not sure

I've only had the privilege of visiting Canada once, and that was an overnight stay in Vancouver before leaving on a cruise. Our time in Vancouver was brief but I absolutely fell in love with the city while there. Such a beautiful place with friendly people and so much to see! Hoping to return someday, and explore other places in Canada as well.

Will be spending 6 days there shortly, using downtown as our base, then 5 days in whistler. Thanks for the video.

When people ask me what to do in Vancouver, I say (1) walk the Stanley park sea wall, (2) go up Grouse.
