Recently changed mine, pretty sure the coating is zinc. Didn’t take long to scrape off the zinc coating but definitely make sure it's done if you’re not that the one driving the car for the initial bedding in, but yes, they were definitely ‘dodgy at best'. 😂😂 Think I was quoted around £300 just for the front and that would have been basic oem pads and discs.
I'm about to do the same thing on the same year, same color :) But I live in Vermont and my rotors look wayyyy worse that that! And car only has 25K. Watching the video after getting a quote for $1400 for front/rear rotors and pads.
Bet you look forward to the dystopian future you'll own nothing and be happy about it when you'll never have to do this kind of work your self becouse only the dailers and authorized shop well have to do it for you 😉
