UnknownEmerald Im so glad for this video, it really helps me to understand a variety of things in the Forge. However Im still looking for ideal, simple and easy way how to script a doors with a switch. I find some videos that use the switch and object that moves with that interaction, but that was one time interaction, I need to make switch that open the door and also close the door anytime I push the switch again. Can you Please make a video with such script? All I need is to have a doors that can be open and closed with the same switch. I want to make a castle whit huge gate that could be opened/closed in this way, but Im too stupid to make it functional by myself without Help.
@@petrsvancara8785 Give it some time and I'm sure someone will put up a tutorial for that specific function. I only dipped my feet in the scripts and only know the basics much like yourself. Scripting is like an entirely different game haha

I’m much more used to using the og Halo: Forge, so Halo 5: Guardians and Halo: Infinite’s Forge was very confusing for me

They should make backdrop pieces where we can have easy city and other backdrops that can be used to dress the outside of our maps. Basically they'd allow us to create a false city backdrop or something that would always hold its size relative to the player screen or not if desired. So if you zoom into it, it will move away like those untouchable sky boxes that never get closer. You'd be able to modify the shape, size, loop, colors and so on. It would just be a nice addition to create maps in areas without using objects.
There is enough of a budget so you can do this with prefabs, but I agree that would be nice
You can use items such as cranes, columns, missile holders and scale them up! There are many pieces in this palette that look like buildings when you scale them and put in your map backgrounds.
I love forge but Farcry nailed the map editor UI. That wheel is so streamlined
I always have a dream of having a map known as ultimate grapple to be created when Forge came out I created the map and realize I'm not very good at scripting all I need to figure out is how to make the players switch to the weapons out with energy swords and grapple hooks I also want to have it set up so they would have to come back to their base to recharge their energy blades like how they do is Attack on Titan I also have plans on making the map into a combat fighter area for jets

Also is there a way to set up grid lines to make accurate maps?
I kinda miss the way forge used to be with 3, reach, and even 4. Something about the forge controls now, it feels so clunky and overly complicated. I end up getting frustrated trying to scale and rotate things the way I want them. When I dupe an item, sometimes it will spawn under the map. Any tips to help not struggle with the controls? Or is it just something I have to get used to?
Under the 'Tool Settings' tab you have an option to change your controls to legacy or recruit which would be a closer to what people were used back on the older games. Hope you can get used to it!

Halo Infinite forge is for very hardcore forgers which literally allows them to create whatever they want.
Is it possible to script weapon trunks (those weapon dispensing boxes that you see in Campaign FOBs and the weapon drill range) to give you any weapon of your choosing from the sandbox?

This is a great guide! A question, you mentioned that you normally shouldn't use floors as walls and vice versa but why not? Does it mess up some kind of filtering setting or something? I haven't had the chance to play Forge yet hence my newbie question :)
Oh I meant that as a joke because it's not sanitary xD Floors will have germs you'll get dirty walls haha. You can flatten a truck and use that as a wall if you wanted. The only limit is your imagination

I find it crazy how no one has made a video about actually making the gamemodes for all your hardwork. Like the map is done, but now what? Sure making a slayer map is easy, but what if you wanted to do something a bit more complicated? Im trying to make a mode where one team has a completely different objective than the other team. Would love a video going over the script nodes and things you have to do "outside" of the actual forge mode.

I've been experiencing some sort of bug where the textures reset on my objects (both Primitives and Halo Design Set). I'll change the object properties so it has no grime, scratches, color spread, etc. and when I go into Custom Games, it looks like it all comes back. Do you experience anything similar? If not, I can show you the issue I am experiencing to see if we can put more notice on this, cause it's very annoying for me to detail a map.
Yeah many players experience the bug me included. Not much you can do about it other than reapplying the texture over and over till it gets back.
Devs are aware of the issue and will probably get it fixed in a few weeks.

Yep it sure does! Billboards are awesome. Might remake that one day when I get all my main projects out of the way :)

I am unable to bookmark it on waypoint and unable to find it when searching ingame. Reupload or?
the map download does not work for me. was the map removed?
edit: i saw some other people having issues in the comments. On halo waypoint the bookmark button is grayed out and map details are unavailable. Other maps work fine on waypoint
edit 2: found it in game, looks like the halo waypoint site just has issues lol
I’m new to forge and it takes multiple minutes to place a few walls and arrange them the way I want is there some kind of shortcut that I am missing to make the process a bit quicker? If I were to make a very small project it would take days lol
It's not something you can master in a few days. This tool will take months to get used to for a new player so my best advice to you is to practice as much as you can by getting familiar with the pieces and placing them. The more you use this tool the easier it'll become to use over time.
Ever since Reach, I have never heard of Octagon.
How would you put multiple intro cameras that can pan around a specific area of a map and how to make them smooth fade/transition to the next camera, b/c I've been struggling with that.
The first intro camera you spawn will be set to 1.00 on camera settings with the promt 'Start'. The start camera is where your intro view will begin. The second camera should be set to 2:00 with the promt 'End' and that's where the first intro session will happen. For your second angle the camera will be 3.00 with 'start' and another with 4.00 and 'end'. They come in pairs and I recommend having 3 sets. You can also mess around with the transitions such as fades and how long they last in the camera settings under tools.

how do you clean the entire map and put a full size ground plane? is there a discord?
You can join my server - discord.gg/RNx6MQPvZS where we can answer questions and help one another out! For your current question you want to go to the Map tab and scroll to the bottom. You will have an option to delete all unlocked objects which gives you a clean slate. If you want a terrain ground plate there is one in the Biomes - Terrain category which gives you a square piece of terrain which you can scale up or down/ dublicate etc.
How do you make borders to make a smaller map? Like do i scale the outter rocks really big or is there a better way to do it? Like i dont want someone to be able to get outside the map with a grapple hook
you can use a soft kill zone or safe zone where if the player goes out of the desired area it starts a 10 second countdown
Soft kill and Hard kill volumes can be used for that. Hard kill volumes will kill the player as soon as they step into the zone. You can also use invisible blockers which will create an invisible wall in-game which blocks players.
Can multiple people work on forge at once?

Do you have any idea on how to put a thumbnail for your forge map before you publish it?
At the moment we have no easy way of adding thumbnails to our maps, but you can post them to sites such as www.forgehub.com/maps/ or forge.xboxera.com/new with your screenshots/ map links for others to see.
How do i make infection in my map with fast zombies?!
Forge needs the basics of stairs, windows, walls and structures. I know they have it but more detailed.
I love tutorials so much. Keep doing these. I hope Forge gets better with time. Halo Infinite can be a great experience with greater forge tools.
We need MERGE tools and snap tools for accuracy and cornering. We need snap tools too with degrees of accuracy.
Yeah the only stairs we have are very futuristic, but nothing stops us from making custom ones using wooden palettes or rusted panels. We also have the ability to make and download prefabs. Give it a week and we'll have some crazy custom objects ready for download :D

I think that would be amazing if we can have access to 343i already built maps. Forge needs to get more complete, easy to use and complicated for experts who wants to focus on level design. The KISMET GUI approach IS perfect.
Another thing that comes with this is the top tens and the top map constructors. A website about this should be made. Your channel could be a start for forge mappers.

Not sure what version of Halo you're playing.. but the latest Forge has tons of various detailed assets. There's like 7 or 8 different sets of stairs, ramps, windows and structures to choose from.
It just kinda sounds like you havent even played it yet lol.

@@pricebrandt9 I've played it with a friend but my access to it was limited. I study architecture, that's why my opinion seems 'outdated'. Sadly I don't have much time to dive into the game. Adult responsibilities comes first. Besides bot comments can't generate reasoning. :p
Is there a way to entirely fill out the "bottom" of the map space as a base to build off? Without scaling and moving a piece of floor? Without it going "under" the map space?
You can choose a different canvas which have a flat surface or scale up a floor piece in the empty canvas to fill the entire space
I would like to know how to mirror objects, I am making a symmetrical map and when I rotate some objects they don't look like that (For example the forerunner platform 6 x 10 x 44) do you know how to do it? thanks!
You cannot mirror objects I'm afraid. You would need to have it ungrouped and reforge the other side from scratch. You can do that in smaller prefabs perhabs bit by bit.

How do you translate correct proportions? I want to recreate my house but am not sure what the equivalent for feet and inches to Halo infinite dimensions
In the Halo design set you have a scale object piece which is a model of a spartan. I use that for my scaling. I have no clue what the measurements are for other units
My question is like, how do you start? You've got all these things pre-filled in. Do you delete em all and add everything yourself?
The world I created in this video is for new players to look at all the objects available in forge. You can download the map and delete everything by going to the bottom of the Map setting tab (but it will have my name in the credits) or whilst opening forge, select a canvas on which you would like to build. There are 6 blank canvas to choose from!
@@UnknownEmerald what I meant was... when I start a forge canvas, there's spawns and all kinds of intimidating stuff all over the space already. Do I leave it and move it as needed? Do I delete all of that and add it on my own as needed?
I am a really experienced Far Cry map maker on PC and Halo Infinite's Forge is the first Halo Forge that I started using since Far Cry 6 sadly doesn't have a map editor and I have to say that controls and UI in HI's Forge is terrible, especially the controls, it's a absolute mess trying to put objects and move/rotate them precisely on PC compared to Far Cry's map editor, it's like they made Halo's Forge for consoles and keyboard and mouse was second thought which is why it takes ages to make anything, also Forge not having a tool specifically made for terrain is really bad as making a terrain is usually a base of a map so you have to place those weird terrain objects, as there isn't a terrain tool, there also isn't a tool for painting vegetation so instead you have to manually place grass, bushes, trees, etc which takes so much time especially because of the way moving and rotating objects works in this Forge.
It's a shame that Far Cry doesn't make map editors anymore since it's much more superior than Forge...
I really don't get the hype behing this Forge as making anything more complex, making a map that graphically doesn't look like it's from 2010 is hell.
Halo is primarily made for xbox and you're right with pc being an afterthought. If you look up H5 forge and compare it to Infinite you will notice how huge of a leap it was. So many more options are available now. Using a controller is actually incredible once you get used to it. Highly recommend you give it a proper go!
Ngl i’ve never once been on any variance of the octagon map. Idk why the initial spawnpoints arent colored like they were in the past, makes it impossible to know what team it is without selecting it and inspecting it sadly it would seem
It's popular for it's simplicity. Players would do a 1v1 using snipers to practice their shots. Husky raid is also very popular and quite a fun mode. I'm currently working on castle wars :)
hiiiii can you do a video about lightings next time? i've a problem where while im in forge lighting works, but when i load a costum game to test the map everithing is brighter please help 😭🏳
Many people are currently experiencing lighting and texture issues in customs whilst the maps loaded in forge are fine. It could be a temporary bug that will be fixed, but i do plan on doing an in depth tutorial for lighting at some point too!

I'll be posting a tutorial for setting up bots on your map next! Scripting might be tricky for me, but I'm sure someone will do a fantastic job at explaining it in their video!
@@UnknownEmerald I actually did some experimenting with the bot scripting and its actually not hard at all, I believe what I did was put down one of the nav points (don't know what its called) and put down a one way movement volume on my map and the bot actually was walking around and jumping on certain things. Sometimes the bot did spawn under the map and die.
Ware do I find all the objective, spawn points, and weapon spawns in the menu’s.

I play on pc. The controls are clearly meant for controller. Trying to manipulate objects is incredibly hard on keyboard and mouse. I've forged with both on halo 5, and the keyboard and mouse was still not intuitove, but not terrible. Controller is very easy, and understandable. I understand that they would prioritize their main audience, but it's infuriating.
I want to build a map like Bazaar
I customised Bazaar the other day 1st time forging. Played online map was loved put wetlands everywhere apart from places where you spawn.
Long story short finished playing(so I thought) then went back to play more, my forge map was GONE taken away never to be seen again
I have been having lots of trouble saving forge maps. It says it saved the map, but when I load it up again, none of the changes I made applied. Are there any tips you could give me on how to save properly?
That doesn't sound like any of the glitches I experienced. I had a case where I saved a map and it said the save has failed a few times. Usually saving glitches can be fixed if you load up the game and quit it before loading it back up again.
@@UnknownEmerald I’ve heard of that bug before. I might try doing that later when I can. Pretty frustrating for the game to say it saved the map when it did not.
I’ve spent the past day trying forge I’m very new to it so I decided to go simply and just make a rubix cube, one full day into it and it’s been the most painful process ever, not even fully built debating to just put forge down and never pick it up again, any advice ?
This Forge is a big commitment. It's the same as someone wanting to become a HCS player, if you wanna get good at it you gotta practice. I would recommend experimenting with terrain/trees/logs for a few hours. Try making a forest, mountains or flower fields. You need to get used to scaling/rotating and moving pieces smoothly. There are shortcuts you can use with a controller. With my default controls grabbing an object and holding LT allows me to switch my movement snap which determines how fast an object will move with you. Doing the same, but holding RT changes the rotation snap. Holding both LT AND RT and moving the left analog stick quickly changes the scale of an object. Once you get used to these small shortcuts you will find yourself forging a lot faster. Hope this helps for now!
Take your favorite maps for inspiration and try to replicate/ remix that. From there you will learn. Focus on geometry first

I just need help placing and adjusting items
How do you script a bot to follow you around as you use them for power-ups? I am trying to recreate Star Wars Republic Commando. Also, each bot will have a different weapon set. For example, the first bot will have a rocket, while the second will be a sniper. The third bot will be a marksman BR, while the fourth is just straight trash (Plasma Pistol). How do I script that?
You are looking at a very complex script here which could take hours to figure out. You would need to have initial spawns for the bots in their own individual sections in a form of a hill with a boundary. Each boundary would require their own script to provide the bot with a set of weapons/equipment. You can also make it so if a bot walks through a certain door at a start of the round they'll receive those tools. How to exactly script that however I'm not sure from the top of my head. Would ask someone who knows more about advanced scripts.

is there any way to make an interactable door that swings open? the dynamic objects are limited sizes and dont fit my door which I guess means no door. Which sucks 2bh.

Hey I've got a problem, pls someone help me!! I finished my octagon map and wanted to try it out but when i start a custom game i end up in the forge mode?! And where can I change the gamemodes prior to the game? I wanted to have everybody on the map the same weapon with infinite ammo but couldnt find the settings for this.. this is really frustrating lol
Are you sure you're loading up your map from the customs menu? We have campaign, multilayer, customs and forge. All your mode options for a map would be under customs.

The yellow outline around selected objects disappeared for me, how do i get it back?
It should come back up as long as you have the objected selected to move/rotate it. If not then it must be a visual glitch that might be fixed if you reload the game.

I'm so frustrated and out of touch with the new forge. Same when halo 5 came out I was so excited and I still can't understand the controls. I can't even rotate a wall without it being at an angle even at 45 to 90 degrees. I'm honestly overwhelmed coming from Halo Reach style forge I could make a basic simple slayer map in 30 min to an hour, but with Infinite forge in just don't understand it which sucks. I need help not gonna lie
Halo Infinite forge is pretty much what Roblox is at the moment. You can make any type of map and mode within it and yes those maps will take a while to build. It's a scary tool to look at, but I guarantee after a few days of practicing you get used to the controls (which btw can be changed to legacy controls under the tools tab).

Is there anyway to play forge maps in ffa I have two friends and we play infinite from time to time but its a bit unfair when it's a 2v1
All you have to do is to select FFA slayer from the 343 mode list when you're in the custom games tab. You can do FFA fiesta, FFA Oddball, KOTH etc as long as you have set up the gametypes. I have more tutorials on my channel that can help you with that.

Can’t bookmark your map in the Forge content browser. Tried searching the title but it doesn’t come up. Are you sure it’s set to public and permission to use is open?
Have you tried using the link provided in the description? The map is public 100% as it's already been bookmarked by others.
@@UnknownEmerald yep I did before but it’s working now. Microsoft also seemed to have a spike in usage last night and forge maps would throw a couldn’t connect to server error on start, but all seems to be connecting this morning

Whenever i open a new map, it takes forever to delete all of the assets that 343 placed. Is there a way i can delete all of those at once?
In the map properties tab (go right 3 times from the object browser tab) at the very bottom. It's called "Delete all unlocked"

My game in FORGE keeps saying saving failed, any hints to fix it?
You will need to restart your game. Sometimes if you shut the console down without quitting the game and load it back up then you'll get a bug where you can't save a map. Juat make sure to quit and allow it to load from the start before starting your next forge session. It's quite an annoying bug
I tried that, but I am still having the same problem, will I have to reinstall the game?
Someone PLEASE tell me how to lock objects so they aren't accidently deleted!
I keep having to restart this map just because I keep accidently deleting the floor! Even accidently setting it to dynamic in the settings ended up either deleting or resetting it's size!
I don't believe we can currently lock objects, but we do have an undo option if you delete something on accident. For me using regular controls it's down on the d-pad.

I found it.
Annoyingly, it's sorta hidden and requires entering the menu settings. I'm not in my console at this moment, but I believe it's the 3rd or 4th tab (not the last).
The tab lists all of the objects on the map, including created prefabs. On the far right of the list is the lock option. It's a but glitchy but works. The eye next to it hides the object. And most important, the gear allows you to rename or delete a object.
The gear became incredibly useful when I accidently moved objects off map and out if reach. I simply used the eye to make sure it was the correct object and deleted it. On the right if the menu is the object's name. Click it and it snaps tye camera to it. Perfect for misplaced items.

I need help setting up the intro cameras for the map 😭
Cameras are very straightforward. They're found in the 'Match flow' tab under gameplay. You will spawn them in pairs where the first camera is where your panning starts and the second where it ends. The first camera will have the sequence order set to 1.00 with camera blend 'Start' and the second set to 2.00 with camera blend 'End'. Camera 3 & 4 is the next pair with 3 at 'Start' and 4 at 'End' etc.Your Team intro cameras are already done for you so just spawn those in along side the Winning team outro. Hope that helps for now. I'll try including that in a future tutorial!
Whats the difference between a regular object and an "MP" object?
MP objects have more detail on them, but you loose the ability to texture some such as the 'Design set' pieces.

Hey all I'm new to forge and loving it! I am creating a parkour obstacle map and I don't know how to add death zones when people fall off the obstacle course. Could anyone help with this?? Thank you in advance!!
You can find kill volumes under the volume tab in gameplay. Both insta death and 10 second soft kill zones. You can change the size of them under boundaries in object properties!

Do you know if you can make griffball?
Griffball can 100% be made, but we'd need to wait for the golf clubs to be added. Hammers are a lot slower than they used to be so it would be tricky to make it work right now. Day 1 of requesting forge youtubers to make a halo draugr prefab
complete noob to forge here but how do I move objects on controller ?
If you haven't changed any controls then it should be pressing RB onc time to grab an object and whilst holding LT use the left analog stick to move it.

You can change to legacy controls in the Tools tab settings whilst in forge!
is it possible to remove player outlines for every player?

How do I make sand look like snow?
You can change the texture of terrain pieces. When you load terrain options you'll notice they come in pairs. One is canvas based and can't be textured, but the other you can change the textures and colors.
Any one know if you can combine more than one game mode? Just as oddball and ctf at the same time.
You can combine modes using advanced scripts, but it's very difficult to do. We need to wait a while for players to figure out how to do that. I only know the basics scripts right now.
Ok bummer. Well maybe in the future. Had an idea for a game mode called banaza. It’s slayer, ctf, oddball, and KOTH. First team to finish all four modes wins.
Also had an idea called King Ball. It’s oddball and KOTH. But you only get points if you are holding the ball in the hill. Each team has their own ball.
How do you spawn power equipment?
Power ups such as camo and overshield are found under gameplay - equipment.

We have bots for now and they did confirm that AI is on their list for forge!
how do you use a vehicle in forge?
Once you have a vehicle spawned on a map you need to hold the back button (if you're using default controls) to go into Spartan [Play] mode. I recommend placing an Initial spawn by that vehicle for quick access.
