    My doctor put me on this with no monitoring , the side effects combined perfectly with the dabigatran to create a perfect storm , spent a year and half unable to function , with 3 blackouts with fitting which is a side effect of the Atenolol apparently .

    Which of those 3, is mostly potent in lowering BP?? Atenolol, Metoprolol or Propranolol???

    • @NursingSOS
      @NursingSOS  10 месяцев назад +1

      @nenadcubric2663, they all are going to work the same way, so whichever works best for the specific patient. Focus on the MOA for the class of meds!

    I was on this after experiencing chest tightness from Lisonopril. Atenolol made me feel even worse and drowsy and just bad so my doc put me back on lisonopril. I don’t like the side effects on lisonopril either it makes me dizzy and have headaches I’ve been trying to control my high bp naturally instead by eating healthy it’s usually 147/77. What do you think? Is that a good approach? I don’t want to be a lab rat for bp drugs.

    What are the common drug interactions ofvthis drug?

    • @NursingSOS
      @NursingSOS  2 года назад

      Juicy G, any other medication that can affect blood pressure can interact with betablockers, as well as any medications that will affect heart rate. Focus on learning what the medication is doing inside the body, the MOA, and that will make deciphering and critically thinking about interactions much easier!

    • @NursingSOS
      @NursingSOS  2 года назад

      Great question, Lise Lopez. It can mask the symptoms of hypoglycemia such as tachycardia, so it is important to be aware of this. I hope that helped clarify it for you. Your support means the world to us. 😁
