Awesome video! Used this one since I had the Harman Kardon system as well. My only problem is now I can’t get the radio back in, even with only the harness added back there. Do you have any video clips or photos to help fit the cable nest back behind the radio?
I should add I also have the optical cable which seems to make it much more difficult to maneuver the cables. I also just noticed your wiring harness (I guess for the older MMI) has both of the big square plugs on the same side. Mine has them going in opposite directions

Great video! Is the Apple CarPlay not full screen as I see a big black chunk on the right hand side?
I have a ‘16 340i with ID4 and top view/backup cameras from the factory, so is it possible to add CarPlay to my existing ID4 and have it fully integrated like it was a factory option? As in, not having to integrate through my Aux port. Would I have to perform a ID5/6 retrofit upgrade before I could do this, or is my only option a retrofit with use of the Aux port?

Hey Brian i just bought an f30 yesterday, it doesn’t have nav or a back up camera. Does it matter if i get the backup camera or CarPlay first? Or the order isn’t really important. Thanks
The module sound goes through the Aux correct? The car has a standard USB input for a pen drive. What happens to that when you install the module?
When you activate the CarPlay, is the bmw system still running? Calculating consumptions etc?
I have a 2014 f25 with NBT Evo how easy is it to have apple car play installed ???
I seem to have about 5-6 more connections on the back of my radio... TOTAL PAIN to get everything shoved back behind the full DIN unit.
Totally worth it though.
I do recommend changing the wifi settings to channel 149 (5Ghz). Was ALOT of 2.4Ghz interference in my neighborhood making the experience really bad.
Can anyone help, i fitted one of these in, works perfect. only issue is my ambient lightening has stopped working, only the classic setting works, if i click it to luxury. it makes a strange noise from the andream box and no ambient light...any suggestions?
Any sound quality loss with the AUX? I know in the past it was always a pain to mess with the AUX jack. Thank's Bryan for all the cool videos and congrats on quitting the job :)

I know you’re working with BimmerTechs products, I have a 2004 bmw E61 545i with the old ccc unit 8,8. To change to the newer cic unit will cost me about 2500$ what’s your thoughts on the aftermarket Chinese android units? You can get one complete with car play for around 500-600$ it’s a big difference on an old car. By the way awesome content, love your clear instructions, great job

Hi Bryan I have fitted this kit after following your video which made it so easy. Thanks! One query I have is that the image from the rear view camera is always clear and good quality, but once the car (or maybe the MMI) has been running for a few minutes and I go into reverse, the picture flickers in a strobing type fashion. Any idea what could be the cause?

I installed my on my 2013 f30 and when it was all disassembled it worked right. But then I put everything away and back together and started up my car and the screen is ALL BLACK no sound or nothing. Also it says something with the light is wrong now too on the dash. Any help?

Hi Brian, what does it mean when I get an "Emergency Call Malfunction" after completing the install? I connected and transferred everything, including transferring the green fiber optic cable.

I bought a CIC one because my F30 is 12/13 and the UI was pretty much equal to CIC ones. After opening it, my head unit has a 4pin LVDS but my screen has a 6pin LVDS (2pin for 12V/power is connected in another place at the head unit). I am basically trying to maintain this 6pin at the screen, leaving the 12V part directly to the HU but connecting the 4pin LVDS at the OUT part of the box/interface and using a 4pin/4pin between HU and IN part of the box. Screen shows "no signal" message, any thoughts?!

Still missing wireless and full screen Carplay
I did a NBT retrofit on my F30 and already have an extra quadlock for the emulator. If i want to retrofit the apple carplay do I have to take the emulator out and swap it with this quad or it needs to be added onto it?
Anthony Fadel u just add it on top of it. But make sure u get the nbt wireless one

hey Bryan, I have the bimmertech mmi installed on the vertical cavity and it rattles between dash cage. what do you recommend to prevent it from rattling???
Hey man, we typically put 3m tape on the back of it and zip tie it to the metal, so it doesn’t move around
@@KiesMotorsports the metal mmi case is vibrating against the dash cage. i wonder what i can use to dampen the vibrations.
