Same here. I did a little research, halogen to Xenon or LED conversion is more involved that you might think. If you change the entire headlight, you'll still need to ensure that you have the correct modules (and properly programmed) to operate the new non-halogen units. BMW engineers have ensured that the car's original control units, control the factory build only what it came from the factory with. Learned this when both of my lens self-destructed (shattering due to either material, process or testing insufficiency) and I attempted to upgrade from halogen to Xenon or LED with the dealer. Went the route of subbing in aftermarket LEDs, good and bad results. Good - bright white not dim yellow lights at night, Bad - intermittent flicker (for units without canbus correction) on start-up/operation, Error messages (computer is looking for more resistance than LED create) that lights are malfunctioning, headlight are diffuse rather focused beams (as with factory Xe/LED) Cost - they weren't cheap! If you find a better solution - LMK! Good luck!

The NBT is really awesome! I have it in my 2017 F20 and I can enjoy the functionality every day. The best thing imo are the voice command, works fast and perfectly fine. No matter if I want to navigate, change a song or see the weather somewhere!

That isn't the amplifier, but the combox. In the older CIC units, the combox used to take care of functions like Bluetooth and the 3G cell connection. Newer head units integrate all the combox functionality into the dash. He could have simply removed it but there was no need to do that once it was disconnected. The amplifier is in the trunk on the left side behind the liner, not under the trunk floor.
I have a base model 2013 328i f30 with original 6 inch screen ... I recently purchased an 8 inch monitor out of a 2015 328i. I’m I able to just put the monitor directly in with original oem wiring and nothing else?
i wish someone made a box that tapped into the cameras around the vehicle and used them as a dash cam. it would be nice to be able to double the parking cameras as dash cams. even better if i can view a list of videos and view them on the display in the car. Just sayingggggg.... id spend up to 1000 to have a 360 degree recording of my car at all times. even better if you can activate it anytime to check on your vehicle or home or whatever.
I need a confirmed answer as well. Everyone doing retrofits have said no to this except the guy from Singapore doing retrofits. I just don't want to spend 3000 dollars and not be able to remote control the car anymore, that's a huge trade off for some of us dependent on it on daily basis

Can I get some help with my install? I followed this video to a T but when I go to car play even though I get the correct display and can select all the apps, I get this horrible static and interference over my speakers whether I'm trying to play music or not. Also, after I couldn't get it to work I emailed bimmertech and decided to leave it alone for the night. A few hours later I drove my car to get gas and I didn't even get the idrive display to come up, all I got was "no signal" on a black screen with red font and I can't even access the idrive system. Which I don't understand because I had at least the display working at one point and I didn't change anything between when the display worked and when I had the no signal.

I have a 2014 320iXdrive with the base audio/entertainment package so when I have a USB plugged into the port and my phone plugged into that it doesn't register on iDrive so I can only play music from my phone through the AUX port (I don't have bluetooth audio either, just capabilities to connect my phone to iDrive via Bluetooth)... Would this still work in my car? Does it enable the USB port?

Scott J. Parisi CarPlay definitely. AppleTV really sucks in comparison, it was like what you did before CarPlay. AppleTV requires your phone to be on and in landscape and touch the phone to use. also it gets super stretched out since bmw has ultra wide. CarPlay can do split screen like OEM.
He installed it like it was nothing even through the roll cage and not even facing the wires. Bravo man bravo.

You can buy Depo xenon headlights and depo rear led lights for the saloon/sedan only

Why not use a US NBT Evo instead of a European unit? I have full connected drive, sat radio and HD radio in my E90 with a matched US NBT Evo + ATM.

The CIC CAN bus signal is CAN1 and the NBT CAN bus signal is CAN2, right? Is it not necessary to convert to 4SK/8SK CAN2 compatible ZGW?

Cool retrofit. But for me, I would go Android PX6 retrofit which is easier and cheaper.
