I have a 07 330i with the CCC, and this whole time I thought there was an issue with my audio because I tried playing music through Bluetooth . But you just gave me some insight ! I’m gonna have to unfortunately run with the aux 😞

I use MHD, xHP, xDelete, ProTool and other performance applications and want to be able to screen mirror an Android device. Do you recommend a retrofit kit to go from CCC to ID6?

Hello there! Unfortunately, we retrofit NBT Evo ID5/ID6 only into F-Series. But if you want to have an Android Screen Mirroring feature - write an email to info@bimmer-tech.net with your VIN because we have other retrofits for this.

hey got a question, can a retrofit be made from CCC of e71 to a CIC from f10? what parts are needed besides the actual idrive, display and module?

Which exact year is this M5???
My BMW F20 was produced in mid 2017 and came with NBT Evo ID4 and according to your table it should have come with NBT Evo ID5/6. Is there something I can do about that?

In order to upgrade from ID4 to ID5 or ID6, you would need to replace the head unit, possibly the screen (but maybe your screen can stay, it will be known only after you give us your VIN) and iDrive touch controller (again, if you already have it, it can stay). But all in all, it's a hardware upgrade. If you buy this retrofit, it means that the kit will be assembled specifically for your car - all the wiring and parts will be plug & play. Are there any issues from upgrading from cic to NBT like issues with calling via Bluetooth
Hello there! What do you mean by "issues with calling via Bluetooth"? Partially answering your question, NBT or NBT Evo retrofit means swapping the whole system - screen, iDrive controller, trim and, most importantly, head unit which has new features/functionalities in it. So, if in CIC you didn't have hands-free calling, in NBT you will have it. As for other Bluetooth functionalities like pairing up 2 phones, etc., they don't depend on the head unit. This is a separate feature (Enhanced Bluetooth) that sometimes can be activated in CIC and NBT.

I recently had a issue with my idrive ramdomly rebooting was considering to take it to bmw for repair but heard nightmares about the cost... I figured if I'm gonna end up spending 1500+ anyways i might as well get a upgrade. I'm curious if i retro fit will it fix the problem im having. I have a F30 2012 328i not sure if its a nbt or cic but when i put my vin on the bimmer tech website it says that my car is compatible for the NBT EVO ID4 Nav system retrofit. My F30 is also the one with the bigger nav screen. (I know there are some out there will smaller ones) .
Yes, upgrading to NBT Evo ID4 will solve the reboot problem.

I have NBT on my F36 420d Gran Coupe with iDrive 4. Can i update to iDrive5 only with software?
Hey there! Unfortunately, no. NBT Evo ID5/ID6 is a hardware retrofit. You need to swap at least a head unit, in some cases the screen can stay and if you already have an iDrive touch controller. If you're interested, write an email to info@bimmer-tech.net with your VIN and you will get an exact list of what you need to replace and how much it will cost.

Bluetooth audio streaming may only become available after Enhanced Bluetooth coding. Please visit our site and enter your VIN to check if the coding is compatible with your car.
so how do you know whether you have NBT or NBT EVO ID 4? Is there an option in the system's menu to check it?
For the majority of head units it is possible to check it simply by comparing the interfaces, however, for NBT and NBT EVO ID4 it looks the same therefore if you give us your car’s VIN we would be able to let you know, you can send it via email for some privacy (www.bimmer-tech.net/page-contact)

FYI When he says "if you have CIC and want to upgrade from that" at 2:15 I just called Bimmer Tech and they don't offer and upgrade path for e90 (mine is 2011) to newer systems. I found this to be misleading.
Hello there! The thing is that CIC head unit are installed from factory not only in E-Series, but also in F-Series. It is better to upgrade the head unit to NBT EVO straightaway than to NBT, as the latter offers much less possibilities and the cost is pretty similar.

my question is, is there a possibility of having only the head unit without the radio unit working. this is because i have a BMW e91 my head unit started to restart consecutively until i stopped giving something. I went to a technician to make a diagnosis on the machine. He said that it was the radio unit that is malfunctioning (a thing that happens a lot) and its arrangement is 300 euros. That's why I ask if there is an android head unit that does both.
Head unit is the radio. We don't know if there is a standalone android head unit, as we don't sell such things.

Hey there! Well, in theory you already have an iDrive touch controller and your screen would fit the NBT Evo ID5 system. So you would need a head unit and some wiring. But I'm not sure. Maybe, if you want, you can also upgrade to a touch screen. So, there will be a head unit, wiring and screen. But again, this is all in theory. You don't need to replace your screen to use MMI Prime on the CIC iDrive. It'll work with all screen sizes.

Its the prices that's killing me, I have a X4 2014 with NBT with touch idrive controller. Would like the touch screen and screen mirroring but looking at the cost to upgrade and get it coded is a lot right now.
You could have screen mirroring in CarPlay and Android Auto retrofit that comes for $649, but we'd have to check your VIN to see if you're compatible. In terms of touch screens, they usually come at higher price, so it will be hard to buy a good quality, cheap retrofit.
Same I have the 2014 X5 was ready to download the coding for carplay and everything but the price is ridiculous 😵💫

Hey there! CIC, NBT & NBT EVo iDrives are head units from the line of BMWs with Navigation System Professional (option S609A). While ENTRYNAV is a part of Business Navigation (option S606A) which is basically a lite version of option S609A.
Ahh, thanks for explaining that. Is it possible to upgrade for S606A to a S609A system and retaining connecteddrive (I really just need the send routes from google maps to the car navigation) or will I need to do some major overhauling to be able to step up my HU game? I did some reading on the topic and it seems ENTRYNAV uses some connectors is NBT (MOST and such) but very hard to get straight info.

Hey there! NBT iDrive is a head unit from the line of BMWs with Navigation System Professional (option S609A). CCC, CIC, NBT Evo all belong to the Navigation System Professional. While ENTRYNAV is a part of Business Navigation (option S606A) which is basically a lite version of option S609A.

can the car be nbt evo and not have the touch screen ? I was looking at a facelift f36 from 2017 and the navigation was not touch screen
Not every NBT EVO car has a touch screen, so its completely normal the F36 you looked at didn't have it :)

Why are you referring to carplay only? Is android auto not enabled along with carplay?
Not every system is compatible with Android Auto. To override the issue, you can go for our MMI PRO, if u want :)

Good day, I am refurbishing a 2017 BMW 118iA, with a NBT EVO ID5 + Vim system, purchased from Japan and shipped to the Caribbean. I have changed the language to English and have paired my phone to the car. However, the radio is still set to Japan frequencies. How do I change the radio setting from 70 -90 to 87.5 to 108.
