      Cheers Craig, she’s been on my case long enough to start the project 😅

    Just unbolt the LCA at the hub, makes strut removement much easier

    Never use impact guns for damper too mount assembly - otherwise you could potentially damage the valve inside

    The earlier cars sound so much better than the later OPF cars like I had. The diff is supposed to be a huge difference (I got pissed off with mine so moved it on).
    I hard to turn off the digital fuel gauge…it did my head in. 😂

      Agree, very impressed how good they sound stock, no doubt some exhaust modifications will be underway 😅
      I much prefer the analogue gauges on all my cars so glad we have the pre-digital version although it’s such a shame they didn’t come with an oil temp gauge or m-buttons on the steering wheel with pre-selected options ☹️

    Very nice car and sensible upgrades. Wish you would show more content on actual fitment and spannering. 👍. Looking nice so far mate. Bet you got lucky that night lol. Good content. More spannering please bro .

      Thanks for the feedback Neil, hopefully soon I can provide more in depth videos on the tools - always difficult when your hands are tied up with the spanners, even more so as it was the first time on the 240i 😅

    Did you coat the springs with acf-50? are you goiing to ceramic coat the new alloys? if so what product do you recommend. Cheers.

    • @stoneautomotive
      @stoneautomotive  2 года назад +1

      Hey, no not on this one it’s not a forever car (the e46 M3 Ohlins we’re treated to ACF-50 including the arches - love the stuff 😬)
      I’ve never actually ceramic coated anything, the proper stuff that you bake on with heat lamps is out of my skill set/patience 😅

    Did you fit shortened bump stops on the rear? I’m thinking of fitting springs and if I don’t have to remove the damper it will be a bit quicker.

    Hey! Are you still going to do the Xhp ZF gearbox tuning episode?
    I've got an m235i, and I used to have an e90 dct m3. I loved the DCT in the M3. How much it excitement it adds to the overall experience. I've asked people with the Xhp tune on their ZF gearbox what it's like - but unless you've come from that DCT experience - they really don't get what I'm asking about. I reckon you do though.

    • @stoneautomotive
      @stoneautomotive  Год назад

      It’s still very much the plan, sadly the interest in the M240i series has not gone down great in terms of views so is not currently on the priority list compared to the other projects ☹️

    • @vollcare4076
      @vollcare4076 Год назад

      DCT experience is mainly based on NA V8

      @@vollcare4076 I did end up getting the XHP transmission tune for my m235i. It's great! Still not a DCT harnessing an NA V8. But it does a great job of making the car feel much more alive and agressive.

    Theres 3 sets of eibach springs in black, normal eibach pro kit then also 2 different sets by motech, which are both lower than eibach pros,

    • @123divad
      @123divad 2 года назад

      The red springs could be eibach sportlines, if you fit m4 lca and the tension strut too, it doesnt drop the front as much as lca only, but it also widens the front track, another solution is millway road spec top mounts

    • @stoneautomotive
      @stoneautomotive  2 года назад

      Thanks for the heads up 👍 the springs were red so “assume” sportlines 🤔
      We shall see how the car progresses, M4 LCA is not at the top of the to do list but I typically get carried away lol

    Any rubbing the wheel arch from front or rear tyres over bumps??

    • @stoneautomotive
      @stoneautomotive  21 день назад

      Slight rubbing over speed bumps on the rear if two adults are in the back, other than that all clears fine 👌

  • @Mineralgrau

    Do this tyre setup scratch the fenders ? Did you need some work on the fenders ?

    • @stoneautomotive
      @stoneautomotive  10 месяцев назад +1

      Nope thankfully no rubbing 👍
      Ground clearance on speed bumps has caught the splitters a few times though

      All the wheel specs, tyre makes & sizes are included in the video? There over laid when I discuss them around half way through the video?

      @@stoneautomotive Yes I saw that but it rolled over quickly and even when paused it is hard to see, no worries.
      I really liked your video and looking forward to segments 2- 4. I have a 240 with no bolt ons. I bought the M diff (it really is a game changer for corners). Its expensive, you probably save at least 1,000 US dollars if you self install .I am looking to get wider tires and lowering the car and that finishes my suspension work.. I am also very curious on your engine modifications as I like the idea of just a little more power without screwing it up.
      keep up the good work - Thanks again.

      @@gordonharwell2472 fair point Gordon & thanks for the feedback, I shall add it to the description 👍 (guess if your viewing on a phone screen it could be hard to see)
      I’ve been driving the car recently and the new Michelin 4 tyres have made a big improvement to the traction, I think the remap will ultimately call for the limited slip diff 😬
      Glad to hear your enjoying the series, next episode will be up in a few weeks 👍
