What a perfect catalogue of information on overland setup for FJ. Your video was inspiring and informative. It gave me good idea about what I want now.
Nice rig, I'm sure you sold it no problem. Also, as a fellow-Atlantan, I could tell that you were in the area before I saw the plate. Good luck in MEX.
The concept is sound but it seems to me this is all too "busy". I'm thinking the best way to go is a small fiberglass travel trailer - like a Casita or Scamp. They can be modified with an high-clearance, off-road axle that will let the trailer follow anywhere the FJ can go. That way you have a proper toilet, shower, and galley - with a stove and fridge. Plus a decent bed. The "Swiss Knife" approach is fine, but too "crammed" for my taste.
Got a kick out of your video. We have the Polaris RZR XP 1000 and Wildcat X ATV's and we enjoy them, they are tough and hold up very well on our trail.
Excellent vehicle and setup. I have a FJ Cruiser too. Paid that much without any of these. Wish I waited for this one. Where did you put this for sale?
If you don't mind me asking, why would you sell your rig if you put so much blood, sweat and tears (and money) into it? It's an amazing setup and I could see you were really proud of it.
I drool every time I see an FJ. Anyway, there is a dude in my town, and he is selling his 2007 FJ for $20k with 128k miles on it. Seems too high of a price for a vehicle that has that many miles. Just curious what ya'lls thoughts are. grandrapids.craigslist.org/cto/5749312571.html
Shawn Nickel If these cars are awesome, then how come people are selling them? I am just curious, and looking at all angles. How are the maintenance costs? How much is insurance, roughly?
This FJ Build is SICK!!
Nice video thanks for sharing! ..and yes Bears are no joke, your wife is very wise!

zombiesrule1 I ended up selling mine on eBay for 26,000. Fj's keep their value and at 20k for the one you mentioned it's not a bad price.

SUPERNOVA no she was sold to a good owner.... thanks for the thumbs up on her build.
