Pure gold! My manual-trans '07 didn't come with the A-TRAC button and I always wondered if I could add it. I would subscribe 100x again just for this tip. You just made my day. Now I also want to add the "Alien Abduction Request" switch.

This is such a helpful video! I bought an 08 earlier this year and I love it! But I honestly didn't know what the drivetrain buttons do. I MIGHT take it out on a trail one of these days. I was fortunate to find one that was garage kept (near mint condition). I put a cheap set of Amazon rock gliders on it. She's just so pretty that I'm afraid to put any scratches on her, haha.
thanks so much for the definitions. What I've learned is my 2010 is really basic. No RR locker (which i should have figured out before I bought it) appreciate your time and explanations!
Excellent explanation of the FJ switches! We have an 07 & 12 and this video is very helpful, thank you! I think video would make Akio Nishimura happy. Thumbs up!
I think this answers my question. I have a 2014 FJ and noticed today that although I don't have either a diff lock button not an A Trac button, if I pop both blanks out they have the wiring attached.

Thanks for clearing up the idea does your A-Trac work with the rear lockers on. I have a 2013 I thought it did. You're the second person to say yes. I'm one of those that uses my A-TRAC more than my lockers. As my FJ has done trails like gold mountain in big bear with just A-TRAC. And it's rated 8 out of 10 trail. But it's really about a 6. Love the A-TRAC button.

I was checking your switches video and realized that my FJ doesn’t have the Rear-Diff, A-trac, OR crawl control switches…. Have you ever heard of this? Does that mean the RDiff lock is automatic? Sorry for the newbie question, but appreciate any help you could offer. And thanks again for all of your great videos 👍
+1 for ATRAC, I've needed my rear diff locker maybe 5-6 times in 10 years of wheeling in Colorado. ATRAC is amazing for our terrain here in Colorado. If you live somewhere that you need wheel speed to dig -- mud, snow -- then ATRAC is not a great solution as it limits wheel speed.
Regarding the VIP button, there is also the VIP microphone that’s a passive slot into one of the blanks. I believe it acts as a vacuum mic in the event a window is smashed in. Not too sure but my ‘08 FJ does not have the button to disable.
I have never seen a single toyota of any model that came with every switch offered most switches are offered on select models even back in early 2000s a limited still didn't have every switch some switches were sr5 specific and some were sport specific and some limited specific it's rare to see any model that has all switches and dosent have atleast 1 or 2 blanks
@@chainlink4241 I had it all repaired at a Toyota dealer, total about $5k. (Airbags were $1332 x2, seat belt assemblies $145 x2, and a few sensors, plus around $1k labor.) The headliner was a little wrinkled and replacing it would have cost another $1500 but it wasn't that bad so I just kept the old one. I'm glad I did, you can barely see the wrinkles now. I have a 2007 TRD with a 10/06 build date. What would be the status of the A Trac system and the RR locker? I am so confused. Original owner, 230000 miles. What about the models made before march if 06 and since mine was manufactured in February of 06 can I still do the wiring hack to make them both work together? Thank you so much
Can the Park Assist feature be "hacked" by installation of the OEM Button like the A Trac? I used your A Trac Switch Hack, saw the video Wed, ordered the switch, got it today, 1 minute to install and test.

Turns out it’s actually wired even though it’s a dummy switch. I ended up finding the empty dummy switch. My question is what is the wiring for with the switch that was blank on my FJ but is normally where the A trac button would be?

Hi, would you mind helping .Where would I find engine running active only. like ignition sensing wire for DC to DC charger. Has to only be active when the engine is actually running. Much appreciated if you can.
If you check the fuse box below and to the left of the steering wheel, there are some fuse locations that are wired in there already to only work with the FJ turned on, so I would look into figuring out which ones that applies to. There are some threads with labeled images on the forums but using a special tool that light up when power is present will also work
Nothing shows up on the dash when I press my RSCA button. I verified the dash light isn't burnt out, it lights up when turning the ignition on. Any suggestions? This is a 2010.
I'm trying to sort out if the a-trac/diff locker hack has already been done my '07 FJ built in 08/06. As far as I can tell, from offroading my rig, a-trac and the diff locker work in tandem. The back of the a-trac button has a spliced wire but I can't follow it's path behind the dash, nor do I know what to look for. Do you know of a good tutorial on how to perform the hack? I didn't see anything on youtube. I'm the 2nd owner.
I actually don’t know! I’ve never looked to much into it. I think most people who want to add an outlet go with something aftermarket that is superior to the OEM option anyways. But yeah adding the OEM switch and plug…. I’m not sure. They are difficult parts to find so not many folks do it.
Is there a possibility to install a pain sensor switch…I mean, is there a sensor it will activate if you don’t have that in the bumper? Can it be added? A friend upgraded his bumper and gave me the sensor and wiring

I would hunt for the hack instructions on the FJCrusierForums, that’s where it was first shared. If you cannot find the thread let me know.
Can i add power outlet button? Can i add the plug and button easly?
I actually don’t know! I’ve never looked to much into it. I think most people who want to add an outlet go with something aftermarket that is superior to the OEM option anyways. But yeah adding the OEM switch and plug…. I’m not sure. They are difficult parts to find so not many folks do it.
where did you get your roof rack?
The Toyota security microphone does not work If you have tint film in your windows , learned it the hard way .🤷🏻♂️😞
Thanks
Is there a possibility to install a pain sensor switch…I mean, is there a sensor it will activate if you don’t have that in the bumper? Can it be added? A friend upgraded his bumper and gave me the sensor and wiring
A pain sensor?
That should say: parking sensor...not pain sensor
So, where can I find the Subwoofer switch on the newest models?? How can I activate it??
In 2011+ models there is no subwoofer switch as they switched to the JBL sound system. So all subwoofer control is in the head unit itself
Never knew I had a reverse parking sensors. Neither did the previous owner. Crazy
Glad this helped!
