Same. Lol. I do whats called the “FJ Wave”, meaning I stick my hand/arm out the very square window and wave like I lost my Mom in the store. Seems to work most of the time. Other times I look crazy. I dont care, though, I’m in a lifted FJ. Lol. Another joke my family and I have is “WHAT ROADS? WE’RE IN AN FJ”. Works every time. Lol

Seems that FJ Cruiser owners rarely know that the headliner above the driver and front passenger's head is a pair of flat panel audio speakers. Better than cool, it's kewl.

Didn’t know that either. Are they totally concealed?
I believe it's the rear channel. If you have rear pillar speakers you may hear those as well if you fade rearward. The ceiling panel speakers are very subtle.
If Toyota ever brings back the FJ I'll be first in line for one they're awesome

I love how Unique my FJ is and how some people stop and stare at it when u pull in the parking lot. My FJ is lifted on a 3 inch lift with huge 35 inch tires on it. I will never sale my FJ.

Another feature not mentioned is that if you're lucky enough to have one of the few FJs with a manual transmission, then you also have a torsen center differential, and you're always in 4WD, like an Audi. This makes a huge difference during sudden changes in traction, because the front/rear torque split is both fully mechanical, and fully automatic, always adjusting for ideal traction. Bottom line: the only thing better in the snow than an FJ with a manual is a full-on snowmobile.

Because of the AWD (ctr diff option in the MT) I almost never have to use 4L and especially 4H.

I remember trying to buy one a few months back and the dude selling the car when I came to check it out told me he raised the price of the FJ +5k. I asked him why he didn't tell me beforehand me driving 2 hrs to come check it out and he said I prob wouldn't have driven there to check it out. I don't think I was so disappointed in my life since I was so stoked to pick one up.

My sister got the first gen when it came out new only bc she wanted a car thatll protect her. I told her about its history and more and she absolutely fell in love with it even more. NOTHING has broken on the car with 250kish miles. Feels like a truck but it isnt. Feels like a suv that drives like a truck. Perfect medium.

Great work man. The FJ was my first consideration my biggest issue was no flat back and blind spots are crazy. I love everything else about them.

I just put side cameras in fenders. Then you can either use a 7” LCD screen or Rearview Mirror monitor. Never turned my head since.

I originally did this and then fell in love with the whole thing. After I lifted it and put 33’s on it. I fell in love all over again. The wipers still make me giggle. And I hope one day someone will ask me about them, because I particularly think they are the coolest trait of the FJ, since not a single other vehicle on the road has 3 wipers on the windshield. :D
One of the best vehicles I ever owned. It had blind spots but you get used to it. Tons of head room. The 4.0L was a Way better engine than the newer Toyota 3.5L that came in the Tacoma I had after the FJ. The rear locker and atrac front was very capable off road. It was unique you didn't see them on every street corner like I did when I had Tacoma. Rolling in a new Jeep Gladiator Rubicon which it is very cool and feels unique like the FJ was. Hold on to that FJ you will miss it if you sell it. :(

I just bought myself a 2014 FJ cruiser :)) as I relocated to South Africa. Must say it grows on you and I love it!
It's a cool little SUV, it really invokes the spirit of the old Land Cruisers from the 1970s. I feel like Toyota pulled the plug on the FJ too soon. The past couple of years overlanding has exploded in popularity and gotten more mainstream, would be nice to see the FJ make a return in like 2024 and compete with the Wrangler and Bronco.

Technically they never did, still sold overseas in a few spots, its just the slumping sales in NA happened right before the new SUV/X-over craze and they could not justify the production

Been tempted to profit on mine also, but I literally cannot imagine a suitable replacement for the absolute reliability and uniqueness. I’m in the used car business and drive hundreds of cars every year. Nothing creates the long term pleasure of driving my FJ. Ever.

Bought mine 2 1/2 years ago after doing ressearch on it and was impressed! It holds the highest resale value of any used vehicle brand/model! My '07 black cherry FJ ticked all the boxes for me!

I've had my FJ for two years (had a tacoma from '05 - '18). I have King Offroad suspension and I ram that thing through the desert as reckless as I possibly can. Its manual and full of hate. I love every second of it.
I would probably have to get rid of the wife before my FJC 🤣🤣

I love my FJ! Things I love about it? I actually love the little things, like the locking shock on the rear door and the compartment in front of the steering wheel. Easily, that dash compartment is the coolest thing I've ever found in a vehicle

So many people love it. It's true that it's very particular in terms of style, so Japanese from my perspective, but that's exactly the point is car to be in love with. It's not my style I must confess, but I will like it to return.
B.C.! Is the best! I purchased my FJ back in 2015 after to many years of dreaming and still loving it like the first day I drove it home.

Added bonus is that the Fj is a very nice car to drive, it’s smoother, quicker more nimble than other proper 4WD I’ve been in. All the others are slower and more truck-like including Toyota Forerunner, Landcruiser 200 series and Prado, Pajero, Jeep, Nissan Patrol, Ford Ranger, MuX and Hilux etc. Fuel consumption on the highway is surprisingly good too if you drive it at about 105kmh …I get around 28mpg at that speed. Town mileage for me is around 20-23mpg. My FJ is a 2014 model and is unmodified other than factory roof rack and TJM T13 Bullbar with spotlights.
Not selling mine ANYTIME soon. New cement grey paint job, LEDs, low mileage. Pf. This thing ain't leaving my side

I have an 07 and I'll never sell it because it love it. It is everything i need in a car. Comfy, plenty of pep in its step, capable enough offroad in stock form, and so far very reliable.
My only gripe is fuel economy.
I have 2015 taco that has the same engine, looked for these but like you said no is selling them, and the one I did find costed as much as a tundra ,great video

There’s a few things I’ll add like a rear diff lock and A track. Also plenty of aftermarket mods that can make your FJ unique. I inherited mine from my grandfather and it’s the raddest piece of machinery I’ll ever own.

Subbed because I own a FJ! The first time my GF seen the 3 wipers she was like "did you do that?" Umm nooo Toyota did that. 260,000 miles and can still pass up most loud musclecars. Will change engine at time of engine burnout. FJ Cruiser is fun to work on I changed the alternator, spark plugs and about to change fuel sensor sending unit without dropping fuel tank.

@@Finn-qg7vv we did also have one in 2007 for a short time. It was a base model 2WD. Didn't have a lot of money at the time but really wanted one 😂
had mine since 08. didn't have traction control so read up on it and you can add Atrac by just installing the switch and completing the circuit. all the sensors are in place as it uses the same ones as the stability control. got the switch for $20. on ebay and it took about 40 seconds to install.
I like your video and narration skills; your a natural!! Colorado driven 2008 FJ Trail Team. Kept it stock as possible (yes if your looking get all the options or trail teams)(tire uped), Owned for 8 years, bought it used with 35,000 miles yet racked up an impressive additional 170,000+, kept in good condition somehow near mint (except for hitting a poor Deer at 65mph, better than the cop giving a ticket to the right), and yet could still easily sell it for more than I picked it up for, but I will NEVER sell it. I will keep this shell/chassis, till it dies then electrify it..Near ZERO problems and lots of fun/life had..I highly suggest one, (with 4wd automatic, better gas mileage and still has a gear select-able (sealed?) trans) but maybe as an extra vehicle if you have the means. I use it as my only and primary vehicle because the others s*** boxes seem to not last very long. Going on an adventure with a friend today!!!
The general public is too boring to bring FJs into production, but the FJ owners are too smart to sell theirs.

2011 85k bought it on 2012 with 10k. Stopped using it as my daily in mid 2018 and happy I did.
It is just an awesome all around car, undeniable and if you aren’t a Jeep fan. there aren’t many “collectible” off road vehicles until this came onboard.
my sister has this car and when i saw it i said oh its a dove bar! she completely understood. its a beast of a car. she wishes it had more visiablilty . we both had the izuzu truck many years ago and miss that beauty for many reasons but the visabilty was phonom! girls loving trucks . and ice cream bars

4 runner and cruiser are more practical and more useful, I love my FJ, but frankly it is the most impractical vehicle in my 40 years of SUV ownership

I just turned over 87k on my 2013 FJ and if I had a dollar for everyone that’s asked me if I want to sell it, I’d be rich! It’s my dream vehicle and when I kick the bucket I’ll probably give it to the kids. It’s a Beast! Everything I’ve ever wanted in a 4x4!
