    Rocky Graziano - Was an American professional boxer who held the World Middleweight title. Graziano is considered one of the greatest knockout artists in boxing history, often displaying the capacity to take his opponent out with a single punch. He was ranked 23rd on The Ring magazine list of the greatest punchers of all time. He fought many of the best middleweights of the era including Sugar Ray Robinson.

    These fighters in this era were an entirely different breed than any other era. The 40's and 50s were the golden era of fighters in my opinion. the 60's and 70's were when they started making money because of Ali and his promotion, but these guys in Robinson and Graziano's day were the cream of the crop in my opinion.

    They say all he knew was the fight game... a knockout artist in his own right, that had a chin of cast Iron with a heavy left hook and destructive right hand. "Beautiful, simply fucking beautiful", right choice of music, great shots, excellent editing. You should hit up the boxing hall of fame to sponsor you, "It's worth a shot"

      The warriors of old It's ok, we're all learning everyday. Both terrific fighters, De Jesus was a brilliant lightweight and he handed the great Roberto Duran his first ever loss. And Ernesto Marcel was a brilliant featherweight champion. I think haNZAgod as them both on this channel

    His battles with Zale were one of the first displays of terrific action I ever saw. to this day, watching these guys go at it gets better every time

    He would have been 100 years old on January 1st. One of the best middleweights there ever was and no one in the sports world has acknowledge this birthday! Sad what this world is coming too or should I say is.

      God Bless Rocky Graziano. My dad was a fa, as kids we used to listen to the Friday Night fights on the radio, and my Dad would be like an announcer describing the fights as they happened. Back then we didn't have a TV but listening with my dad was a big deal and as a 79 year old I remember it like it was back then
      The old days.

    Unlike Raging Bull Jake La Motta, and despite his own violent upbringing, Graziano never took the violence home with him. He and his Jewish wife had a happy marriage that lasted over 40 years. He was also said to have always been faithful to her.

Imagine him against Hagler, Ray Leonard, Hearns, Jones, Herol Graham would out point him a shut out. FACT. But how about this for a dream fight. Rocky Graziano v Nigel Benn.....     Rocky was not that fast, nor that skillful. But he knows how to put a lot of pressure,physically and mentally, on his opponent. He knows how to use every (few) assets that he had and had a lot of trick on his sleeves.

      Some journalists who were at graziano training camp said that once he got word he was gonna fight jake, he went to the nearest tree and punched it as hard as he could and broke his right hand so he could pull outta the fight

      @@yentamoon1808 That had more to do with their friendship. They were trying to get them to fight and Rocky didn't want to. He may have won or he may have lost. We'll never know. But fear was not the reason the fight didn't happen.

    It’s crazy to watch this guy because his hands are always down and he throws mostly hooks. Those are bad habits but he’s so tough it doesn’t seem to matter

      You mean the guys that are good at catching punches, I tend to do this as well while I'm sparring. It's a very effective skill, saves your ass when your opponent starts to turn up the heat

    Graziano had that switch blade right hand that put opponents out from any angle. He should've been made to develop his left. But what the magic of that man was had to do with crowd appeal. He had Tony Zale draped over the ropes and he's wailing away at the Man of Steel and the crowd is screaming for Graziano to finish him. Well, one night he actually did. RIP champ

    I had a problem at an international athletic competition where a basketball team was cutting into a really long chow line. As a U.S. official and a woman, I was the only person to challenge that basketball team to get out of line. Who was behind me? The Italian Officials.     I am one of Rocky's biggest fans, I love da guy, but guys like Haglar, Leonard Hearns, Calzaghie and Herol Graham would have schooled him. Just a thought ...... Your opinions please.... Peak Graziano v peak Nigel Benn..... Breaks my heart, but Benn in 4 rounds.

      You can't compare old fighters with modern day ones things move on sports science gets much better most of the fighters from the old days would have trouble fighting todays fighters unless of course if they were born in the same era.

    To Nigel Parker. I have not doubt that Hagler, Leonard, Hearns and all the rest you name could probably beat Rocky in a fight. But I do not take Rocky out of his time. He was the best in his time and I will always think of him as one of the best middleweights there ever was. As for Benn and Rocky? I see Rocky winning!! In my dream fights he wins them all!!!!

      Rocky Graziano was my childhood hero. I don't think he was the greatest middleweight champions of all time, but certainly one of the most furious and exciting champions. I often wonder what would have happened if he and Jake LaMotta had fought their schedule, but canceled the 1950 championship fight. Opinions, please.

I think between the two Jake was the better fighter, but Rocky would not have lost to him an Jake would not have lost to Rocky. They both would have knocked each other out. Boy that would have been some fight!!!

      Depends on how Hagler fights him. If he goes at him, who knows? If he fights him like he did Duran, Graziano outworks him.
      Leonard, besides one gift decision, never looked good at middleweight. Rocky puts him on his back foot all night. COULD have been a major problem for Leonard.
      Hearns would have swapped punches. With his chin against Rocky that's no good. His best bet would be to box.
