A son of Giardello wants me to thank you for this wonderful montage of his dad. He's sitting here with me, and this came up in my recommendations. He's very proud of both of his parents. There is going to be a Giardello movie... It's being worked on as I speak.
@@hanzagod ...movie Still being worked on. Takes a long time and Covid did alot of damage of course. And a possible documentary too. Ever see his statue in Philadelphia? I'm in here because someone just made a comment in response to my original comment. Hope all is well.
@@jayf4357 Unfortunately the son I was talking about, Steve Tilelli, passed away July 4th 2022. He started the project, wrote the script and was a producer and due to some family issues I have no idea how the film will continue. It was at the point of casting actors and picking locations, but who knows now without Steve pushing it. Interesting story. Read Charles Redner s book Down But Never Out, renamed I think This Was A Man. Book gives you basic outline of movie. I will miss my friend of 20 years, Steve, terribly.
Probably the most underrated World Middleweight Champion of them all, and very unfairly. Joey was a beautiful boxer with great footwork and perfect timing.
Giardello was a very underrated middleweight chamop who enjoyed a golden Indian Summer to his career, defeating the great Dick Tiger for the title. A year later he beat Ruben 'Hurricane' Carter who was knocking them all over until then. And Giardello could punch as well as box beautifully.
Damn...serious haymakers with the right cross! Great technique to generate power...looks like he's swinging for the fences...with nice punching technique!
Class act, shame there is no footage (If the fight was filmed that is) of his fight with George Benton, battle of the Philly masters. Great boxer Giardello, my father always said to me he was class, precision footwork and able to get leverage on his punches at the same time, a great boxer to not just watch but study. Hopefully a movie of him would be made one day, he was portrayed very poorly by the film makers in the Hurricane movie. 🥊
A great fighter who was not in good graced of the 'mob' and consequently was among the top middleweights for several years. I think Dick Tiger gave him a shot at the title possibly after the mob had less influence. I do remember a fighter who he had a lot of trouble with and lost to him at least twice, the underrated Joey Giambra. Two very tough 'paisans'.
great boxer but even better human being having a handicapped child he raised a lot of money for charity also served as a 15 year old paratrooper At the end of ww2 Did he ever take a fall for the mob not sure on that but most boxers had to do something for them even lamotta did with the fox fight RIP JOEY GIARDELLO
Also...he was integral in the building of the Special Olympics having a Downs Syndrome son. There's a great book about his personal life - Down But Never Out by Charles Redner (renamed This is a Man I think). A movie is still in the works telling his extraordinary story. Making a movie takes a long time but it won't be too much longer. Another thing ..Universal movies had to put a disclaimer on the DVD The Hurricane for the atrocious Lie in the way the fight with Joey was depicted in the film.
another nice video hanza, good job. i got a request for you too, a lot of people have been sleeping on joe calzaghe. i think you should show them what hes about
Unfortunate that he didn't win the title when he was a little younger. Unfortunately his loosing to Terry Downes tends to reduce him a bit with UK fans.
I've searched your channel for a Wladimir Klitschko highlights but I found nothing. If possible, could you please make one? Thank you for your work and dedication.

That's awesome!
Epic from Italy ♥️ Joey

A really great "punch and move" fighter. He got in there, handled business, and then got back out.
Joey Giardello is amongst the Best Middleweight Champions of All Times!

underrated
Imagine this bloke in today's ring he would destroy everyone
Excellent technique always seems to generate power and still remain balanced. Glad I got to learn about this boxer.
Beautiful Boxing 🥊
Damn my got some ill timing with those hooks especially the right hook. And he had his distance mastered!
Damn...serious haymakers with the right cross! Great technique to generate power...looks like he's swinging for the fences...with nice punching technique!
Great job haNZAgod, Giardello was always a favorite of mine, I reckon he was a very under rated MW champion.

Really embodies that Philly style. Hard guys, hard shots, smart defence. War if need be.
Meldrik Taylor, Benny Briscoe, Benard Hopkins. Philly style.
The Punisher!? I swear, Jon Bernthal (Shane from Walking Dead and Punisher actor) could portray this guy!
Defensive lightning.
great skills
Thanks for the video
Is it just me, or does Joey Giardello remind anyone else of Di Nero's portrayal of Jake LaMotta in "Raging Bull" (especially the thumbnail)?
Jon Bernthal who recently portrayed the Punisher looks a lot like him in the thumbnail!
Jon Bernthal should play this guy in a movie
the footwork from another combat dimension!

Came for the boxing, stayed for the music
RJD2 - Good Times Roll Pt.2
Um ótimo lutador rápido, agilidade, esperto, técnica etc

He NEVER took a fall for the mob. Actually he never went down. He slipped once, and was tko'd for bleeding too much several times.

That spirit was killer
Giardello using the jab to change angles
Great job fam
Amazing superb quality a joy to watch perfect timing i,m showing it to my son a middleweigth also with only ten figths
A Giardello vs Basillio fight should've happened. Don't know how those guys were never in the ring together. The mob I guess
forged about it!
Beautiful to watch, very underrated middleweight. You taking requests at the moment haNZAgod?
Always mate.
haNZAgod Nice one. Bit of a long shot but if possible could you do one Bob Montgomery please. Not much if anything of him out there
There's no footage of him bud. I can only use what everyone else can use, I'm not a fight film collector or anything like that.
another nice video hanza, good job. i got a request for you too, a lot of people have been sleeping on joe calzaghe. i think you should show them what hes about
Ok, how about Dennis Andries please, don't often see or hear much about him these days?
Don Turner Spoke Highly Of Him,Here I Am
He was probably a good time to fight
Italiano ❤,,
Looks like jon berthal guy who played shane on the walking dead
noah mcmullen i thought the same

reminds me of joe Calzaghe
He doesn't fight like him too much to be honest. Calzaghe was a high output guy Giardello was a great boxer/puncher.
He fought a ton of hardcore tough black contenders something that was rare among white fighters of his time.
