I'm shocked that an agent would want that listing to be shown in that condition. I'm pretty sure Cash had no idea it would be so bad. Yes they updated the lobby & laundry room areas but the rest is still garbage. It's close to Kings County Hospital & the Winthrop Street stop on the train is right by the R building which is a psychiatric facility
The renovation construction didn't bother me nearly as much as the numerous and various visible traces of the type of neighborhood, the type of people currently living, in the area, etc. The litter in hallways, the lighting fixtures or lack thereof, cracked glass (one looked like it had a bullet hole), the number of locks on one door, on and on. Then you had the real estate agent who came across to me as being so scared of being in that area and building for too long that he risked giving himself a heart attack.
I thought the same thing. It needed a lot of work. Can you imagine living there, and something breaks, I bet he would not have anything fixed. Ms. B. Churchill
I always love the neighborhood tour and running commentary! The building isn't the worst but the apartment was scary! I would definitely like to see an "AFTER" video, because it's hard to picture the bathroom and kitchen with the state they were in. Rooms are pretty large and I do like that laundry room and the elevator! I agree that Cash was surprised at the state of the apartment, but he rolls with it so well!

Living in a renovated prewar building in this exact neighborhood now and a place like this can turn out really nice and have a way higher price. Not all but most of the buildings in little Caribbean are on the up and up and based on current construction the whole place is well into major gentrification for better or worse. The zoning and transportation is pretty much set up the neighborhood to be a big target for the next stage of gentrification in central Brooklyn compared to some neighboring areas
Cash, you're such a pro for staying positive on this unit. I would watch a sitcom where you told your wife you signed a lease in Flatbush and she has to share it with another agent. :o)
I see the potential. When done it could be nice. The bones seem good. Once the work is done, it'll probably rent fast. I truly hope the owners and future tenants give the building the care it needs.

Hi Cash that is a very lovely small NYC apartment for $700 a month. I like the shiny hardwood floors and simple rooms and kitchens. Stay well and safe 👍Great apt tour from your realtor friend 👍
It's hard to tell what this will be like when it's ready for occupancy. I gather that it's a two-bedroom where you can carve off the window end of the living room to make a third - which isn't usually such a great idea. If the renovations are actually completed, $2,300 ain't bad for a two-bedroom unit.
Lol. Noah was a character, I enjoyed his goofy energy with always goofy Cash. I liked it when he walked over the floorboard panels on the floor and slid and turned, lol.

Thoroughly depressing, though I realize it's a dreary day and the apartment isn't finished yet. Too many bars on windows are always a bad sign. Try this one again on a sunny day when it's finished. Neighborhood tour was fun as always but go when more businesses are open to get a better feel for what it would be like to live there.
Appreciate the owner showing it. Lets you understand how much he is putting into it. Fact that previous tenant stayed so long shows it can be comfortable. I would appreciate not paying extra money every month just for shiny finishes.
was the other agent high on coke? the way he tries to spin everything as if it's an amazing apartment and that the place isn't in shambles is hilarious hahaha
NY is just not worth living in anymore, period. I was born and raised there but when Covid happened, I packed up and went to Texas at the end of 2020. I live in a one bedroom with in unit laundry in a good area for $885 and that's only because of inflation. It was $785 last year...
Man, the prices are insane! I built my home out in the country on the nights and weekends after working construction for my boss during the day. I did it debt free and lived on the property in a $350 travel trailer that I sold for $600 after I used it for a year. All I pay is property tax which is about $300 a month on 6 acres of river front property in a forest. If I need something at the store it's 20 minutes away. My kitchen is about the size of that living room space.
Pre mature apt tour. Hope Cash returns when it is finished. Although the building and hood are very scary and that's in the early moring before the bros wake up.
The layout of this feels wrong and makes me feel uneasy. If I was renovating it I’d try to move the kitchen into the living area space as it seems like wasted space. It seems like the bedroom next to the kitchen would not be very private and whoever was using that room would have to deal with clothes smelling like food. I would also definitely try to make another bedroom from the existing living space (featuring an internal window high up for some natural light) and extend the other smaller bedroom into where the kitchen currently is.
Cash, I've suggested this in the past so I guess this request will go ignored. But it's your RUclips channel and you're the Boss. However, I'll make my suggestion for the record. I think everyone talking about how it was bad to show a apartment in mid renovation , might want to remember something. Since it is in mid renovation they have to work around when work is being done in that apartment. And this agent is also has to coordinate with that, while going through the land lord. If the laundry room was just redone that much, it sounds like a new rental company/landlord took over and is trying to improve what they bought. But can't just kick all the tenants out and redo everything from top to bottom. Which is what multiple apartment complexes in my town are doing right now. Some of that is just undoing the things the old landlords did to just get by for another year or two. Like my old apartment shower.
