Chainsaw Won't Start - Chainsaw Repair

I have fixed countless engines (most of which were free) by running through these steps. If you have a chainsaw that won't start, there are common issues that can be addressed to fix a chainsaw won't run. All small engines are essentially the same and require four things to start: fuel, air, spark or ignition, and compression. We didn't make it past step one for this repair, but if you want to check the spark plug you can unscrew it and rest it against the engine (so that it is touching metal to metal) while you give it a couple of pulls to see if it is sparking. The air filter was also falling apart.
If you want less of a chance of experiencing failure on your small engines, start using non-ethanol products with a stabilizer that don't get used all the time. I hope this video is helpful and gets your chainsaw working! Let me know if you have any questions in the comments. Peace and God bless!
