    Nice work! One little advice: never use torque on the spark plug. If you overtorque it, then you can strip the thread. Just simple thread it in with hand and fasten it a little with a plug wrench.

      I'm a very worthless person.
      This chainsaw has no value. It cost less than $200 brand new. It's not appropriate to restore and use the scraps, but I'm doing it to make money from the videos.
      I've made a lot of money from it.

    Although I usually love videos where you turn cord tools into cordless tools, I really enjoyed this one because it shows us how to properly dismantle a chainsaw, what is not always obvious ( because of counterclock screws and many other things ). And like usually, the great work you do into cutting the rushes and making videos without times off, is remarkable, your videos are so clean and relaxing to watch. Thank you for all that and keep doing what you are a master in, really ! :)

  • @ApprenticeGM
    @ApprenticeGM 2 года назад +3

    Great restoration mate, impressive skills including video editing. You didn't grease the main bearing (at least not on camera and started assembling it dry) and also the reason you were cutting curves in the test piece is uneven sharpening of the chain teeth (or possibly the chain too loose / sitting too high on the bar because of dressing the bar edge shallows the groove). Thanks for sharing!

  • @wojciechszymanowski
    @wojciechszymanowski 2 года назад +4

    This chainsaw is fairly new, maybe from around 2014, also You can see that there is barely any wear on the parts. The title of the video should be “complete disassembly / reassembly”.
    Restoration is when You restoring something very old and usually damaged / heavily used to perfect condition.

    Very enjoyable video. I'm restoring an MS200T for myself and the fins have hard, baked on crud. Ryobi did a great job of keeping the engine and fins clean. Stihl did not. Brake cleaner and powerful burnt soldering flux solvents won't touch it. Oven cleaner will probably need multiple applications and heating of the upper to work. I'm cautious with caustic chemicals on the aluminum cylinder.

    Nice work, very satisfying to watch you bring it back to service and look good also. I wish you can show the weight of the saw and how many cc’s the engine is and maybe even length of the bar. Looks like Ryobi took cues from the top saw brands to make theirs. Looks very well built and I’m happy to see the detailed video angles.

      Hi, the mixture goes first under the piston, then through the port transfers up to the chamber. If the fuel has oil added to it 40:1 then all engine parts are lubricated OK.

    Great job on resurrecting this saw. Ryobi makes an awesome machine; I traded a Mcculloch Pro Mac 850 and another Pro Mac 700 for a mint Ryobi. My saws needed fuel lines and i think carb diaphragms. My saws had so much compression, they were hard to pull over. I think the guy I traded with didn't know what he had. I had another Mac 10-10S that he wanted, but I was able to do the trade with just the two non-runners.

    Is identical with parkside pkbs 53a1 probably the same chainsaw different brands! But it has some tricks to become monster, just a few holes to exhaust and boom brand new faster chainsaw than before!☺️

    I could not have done it better. Why did you not take apart the carb and make sure all jets were blown out and tune it too? Why not file down the depth gauges (rakers) when you sharpened? You probably would have got much bigger chips instead of sawdust coming out and cut faster too. Try to replace the ring, bearings, etc if possible. Maybe not enough time but You don't want to have to do all this work twice. Just my two cents but you are talented and do excellent work. It looks brand new!!! Video your tear down is a great idea. Thank you!!!

    another fantastic job pay attention to the Riker and that's the tooth in between each cutter for a straight edge across if the raker is higher than the cutter tooth you will be forcing a sharp blade through every time makes it difficult for The Cutting to to actually cut file the tops of the rakers down

    Amazing! How old is this chainsaw? How many years did it not used before? Looks like it`s not too old, but it really used in very bad conditions...

    I'm always wondering usage of gasoline/vibration to metal parts. But since parts becomes very clean you can't argue with the results.

    tightening them case bolts with a power drill is a bad habit. gotta do those by hand and preferably with a torque wrench. break your heart you snap a bolt off during cylinder reassembly.

      Я когда свою пилу после ремонта забрал так легко не мог дёрнуть за шнурок , приходилось ногой наступать на ручку и потом только мог потянуть шнурок и это не по причине плохого ремонта . а по причине хорошей компрессии в поршневой . а здесь слишком легко дёргает за шнурок .
