    I had a GLX in the mid 80’s. Pretty cool it had the same motor as the GT but was supposedly lighter because it didn’t have the ground effects and body kit. I’m not a Mustang conisuer, but it was a pretty cool car. I’ve only owned 2 Fords in my 57 years on the planet. And both were really good cars. I’ve had more GM cars through my younger years. But I’ve driven mostly German cars since the late 90’s. I had a Trans Am GTA back in the day. And when a BMW M3 smoked me with 4 people in the car, I went to euro cars 😂. Mostly Mercedes AMG. I didn’t buy German cars when I was younger because I lived in Germany for 16 years and I saw them all the time and they were boring to me. But after that M3 ate my lunch, I reconsidered.

    I have an 83 GLX Convertible in Midnight Blue has about 90K miles. It's not mint but it does still look really good. I think it's at an age where it's becoming unique to see them again because when I drive it it's like walking a puppy, EVERYONE talks to you, asks questions and takes pictures of it. We're having beautiful weather for winter so I took it out today topless and some man in a Bentley GT was gushing over it so I thought that was funny!

      My son likes me to take it out with the top down, everybody says nice car when they see. I rarely see Four Eyed Mustangs out in the wild. I mostly see 87 and newer Mustangs

      oncewaslost1982 have one now for my first car, under 100k miles and all original and looks new inside and paid $2000 for it. They’re really fun to drive and work on. Pain to find some convertible specific parts and everything but I don’t regret it at all

    I love this video. I also have a white/red 83 GLX convertible with the 3.8 V-6 and A/T. I've had it for just over 3 years. I get so much joy (and occasional aggravation) from it. It's nice to see someone else driving one.

      I am surprised how many talk to me, when I go to Foxbody club I am part of. Car is rare and even though it only has a V6, they like looking it over.

    I’ve got a black 83 5.0 Glx vert with a T5 manual transmission🤩
    Any idea on how many of these came out of the factory? (Production number)

    • @chasingmustangs
      @chasingmustangs  3 года назад

      Sorry, I don't have any idea. The GLX did not come with a manual transmission. So someone had to do a special order for the configuration. It will be rare, just don't know how rare.

    can someone tell me if there was some 1984 mustang glx 5.0 convertibles made? i have one and cant find anything on it

    • @chasingmustangs
      @chasingmustangs  4 года назад

      Technically Ford only made the GLX in 82 and 83. I have seen several cars for sale, saying they are GLXs in 1984 year. The only thing on my car staring the car is a GLX, is plastic emblem on the trunk. I have the original manual and it does not state GLX. ViN decoders don't help with early Musrangs either. I recommend finding the 1984 marketing material online and compare your car options against it. Mote than likely you have a LX with upgraded interior.

    Is it common for this vehicle to stall?

    • @chasingmustangs
      @chasingmustangs  4 года назад

      Only when the engine is cold. Takes about 10 minutes to warm up. Plus it was cold outside. This car has a carburetor.
