I have noticed people asking about multiples for sizing. It is multiples of 3 plus 2 stitches. Though some say multiples of 6 plus 2. Same difference, really. The pattern calls for 117 chains for a lapghan. That is 116 single crochet, 38 "lattices" with 1 chain 4 at the beginning and one treble (triple) crochet at the end of each alternating row. I adjusted my pattern a bit in both stitch size and finished product size. Abbreviated: Ch. 171, turn, skip 1st. Ch., Sc 170. I followed the pattern but I Ch 3, Tr instead of Dtr, and Dc instead of Tr., finishing the row in Dc., turn, Ch 1, repeat Sc, etc. etc. Its afghan size and tightened the weave a bit. Hope this helps anyone looking to adjust size.
I like your version better, and will follow what you did when I make this. Can you tell me how many repeats of the pattern there are? I’m thinking of making it in multiple colors. Thank you 😊
Thank you. I was wondering if I could do tr and dc instead to get a tighter look when I saw your comment. I just want the lap version, though. Will it still work out the same?
@@debbyavery5693 you are going to follow the original pattern. The only difference I made was downsizing the stitch size and making my chain longer. The pattern calls for repeating the pattern at row 2 - 4. Yarnspirations has the pattern, if you need reference. You could do all the single crochet rows in one color, and the lattice rows in different colors. I think that would look really neat. Happy Crocheting!
@@marshaknatcal104 yes, it will work out. By changing the stitch size, it only changes the height of the stitch, not the width of the stitch. How ever many chains you use with establish the width. Just remember to chain multiple of 6 plus 2. You could, however, just use the original pattern and chain 117, but adjust the actual stitches down. You may have to make a few extra rows to establish length, but it should work.
To start with I love the pattern, but I have had some difficulty in crocheting it because I'm a LEFT HANDED CROCHETER. IS there any possibility you could give me (AND I'M SURE OTHER LEFTIES), directions for a left handed crocheter? It has been a hit and miss with trying to convert it. I would really appreciate your consideration. I'm 94 and really enjoy crocheting - it keeps the mind active and busy. Again thank you.
I know this is a year-old comment, but I'm replying for future crocheters haha. The chain count is multiples of 6 + 3 (2 for end stitches and 1 for skipped chain before the first single crochet). So for example I can start with 27 chains, which is 6 x 4 (24) and the extra 3. Skip the first chain to make the first single crochet in the second chain, just like in the pattern. Hope this helps!
Why does your work seem a lot looser than the stock picture? I would like to make a textured blanket with no big holes and I thought this one would work till I saw your sample.
hi for over a year now ive been trying to find the tutorial pattern to follow and make its a baby blue cardigan with matching hat and its like a long jacket on the baby it also covers the legs please help
@@AmablonderoseRn I looked at the written pattern and they suggest if you're working with Bernat blanket yarn to start with 67. I don't know if this helps but it did help me :-)
Well...actually I wanted to use this pattern for a scary vs a blanket. But the best I could calculate was multiples if 6 plus 2. I'm going to try it in a smaller scale and see if that's it. I'll let you know. Thank you for the info. ☺
I have never seen anyone hold their yarn in their left hand like you do. The way you put the yarn on the hook was a little confusing to me. I also liked the way The pattern looked when you first started, but as you were working on it, the whole seemed a lot bigger and I didn’t like that. Thank you.

What a great instructor you are. Everything you said and did was so clear to me. Yarnspirations is so lucky to have you!
a trick : you can watch movies at flixzone. I've been using it for watching all kinds of movies recently.
@Kasen Ahmir Definitely, been using flixzone} for months myself =)

This is a great little lapghan blanket. The pattern is beautiful. Thanks for a clear and concise tutorial.
Good instructions. I see how you are going to go through that much yarn for a relatively small piece. Texture stitches keeps it interesting. Thanks!
Love this pattern. How many extra sc can I add to make this blanket larger?
Love it ,got to get the yarn and start this right away thank you for your time to teach us this
I like the looks of this stitch and you've made it look doable! thank you for the video and for also sharing the written pattern!
I just started this and I am really liking this lapghan. I can't wait until it is done...😁

This is a cool pattern. ❤❤❤
I Love this lattice ! Thank you for teaching it to me so easily!!
Should I make this with 4 different colors?
Love this pattern but would like to make it larger. What is the chain count to go larger please?
Anyone?
Gorgeous!💜🙏💜

Is the multiple 6 plus 2? I would like to make this bigger. Thanks
Yes, if you look on the Yarnspirations page for this pattern, they comment that it is a multiple of 6+2. :)
Thank you!
What is the multiple needed for this pattern?
I would also like to know the Multiples.

@@AmablonderoseRn you can actually just start with a chain and when you get to the length that you want, you can cut off the excess chain 😊
Super!!!!
Is there a left handed video
I wonder could it be played from the other side 🤔 I'mma lefthander and I've always hadda time with the visual reading these for understanding.
I wanna curl up below this with hot chocolate so pretty 😁
Is this #4 weight yarn? All she said was red heart.
Is this me or does she crochet very loose? I’m still trying to figure out my tension...
Her stitches are very loose due to the way she holds her yarn.
❤️❤️🙏
