    Wow this is awesome! I love this stitch but not a fan of the Tunisian style so this is awesome to have found you here. Now i can do this with regular crochet! I’m glad I have known others in the UK now I know when you say double crochet it is actually the single crochet. So it is easy to do! Thank you again!

    For the those in the US. The double crochets are single crochets

      Aww I am so glad you have enjoyed the tutorial…… that’s exactly the same reason I love doing the stitch this way too :))))) thank you for taking the time to leave a comment 🥰😘❤️ xxx

    Great tutorial, thank you. I think I learned this stitch from you ages ago but am currently doing a sampler blanket in variegated yarns and was having a hell of a time. This got me back on track perfectly. Now I just have to get the yarn out from under the cat and we all know that means death 🙄

      Omg this made me actually lol! I hope you managed to retrieve your yarn from under your kitty cat haha! Thank you for taking the time to leave a lovely comment 🥰 good luck with the sampler blanket I’d love to see it when you’re finished if you want to join us on the Facebook group ❤️🥰🥰

      I did get the yarn out from under the cat....which is why I am speaking to you from the Afterlife. I woke him up so death was his only option, really.
      Then he ran off with my hook and I don't know where he's hidden it. Same place as all the forks, I presume (he has a Thing for forks. Lunatic animal) so I don't know if all of that together counts as a win?
      Afraid I don't FB - speshly now I'm dead, my fingers go straight thru the screen - but you have a grateful* new subbie and as a learner I really do appreciate all you pro-levellers who go back to basics for us, especially as it's not easy to remember the pitfalls once something has become second -nature to you, and then explain it clearly. Perfect tutorial, have all the stars 🤗❤
      *Ooooo, I spose that makes me the Grateful Dead? (I know, I know. I'll see myself out.)

      @@randomhumanoidblob4506 hahaha well this actually made me laugh out loud so not only has rocco baby crochet reached an international audience I have also now entered a completely different realm of the after life!!!!! I shall take this as a win haha!
      omg my little girl cat loves hiding my makeup brushes she is obsessed with them I am glad I am not on my own with this
      I am so glad you found us and thank you for your kind words and supporting the channel and also brightening my day up xx

    What she write and says is not a double crochet but a single crochet in the USA, anyway

    • @roccobabycrochet
      @roccobabycrochet  Год назад +8

      You are correct it is a single crochet in the US and in UK terminology it is known as a double crochet……. I am British :)

      Even in India we call it single crochet

    I'm so glad I found you. I've been trying to do this watching someone else for hours , but it just wouldn't work up right. Realised that she is using an odd number of stitches and you use an even number. Now got it perfect, thank you so much.
    I have also been trying to do this stitch in the round to make hot water bottle, but again the tutorial I'm following won't work up correct. Maybe you could do this as a tutorial as there are very few in the honeycomb stitch done in the round. X

      Aww I am glad you found the tutorial too there’s nothing more frustrating is there….. I have never actually used this stitch in the round but leave it with me (I have had a little break from filming but just getting back into it) I’ll have a play about with the stitch and do a tutorial hopefully in the next week or so for you :) xxx thank you for taking the time to leave a lovely comment 🥰🥰🥰

    Very nice. I love the smock stitch (also known as the honeycomb stitch) and I managed to make 2 pillow covers with it a few years ago using the Tunisian version. But it seemed to take a long time with Tunisian Crochet. Not sure why. I would LOVE to make a sweater with at least part of it using this stitch. Now, thanks to you, maybe I can. ;) Thank you.

    I am so happy to find this beautiful stitch. I have been wanting to try this for quite some time. I have a question for you…..would you possibly have a written tutorial that could be posted here. Example…row 1….row 2…row 3….etc. I’m having some cognitive and visual issues in my old age 🥺 and it is much easier to follow directions one step at a time. Thank you so much…..

      Aww I am pleased that you found the tutorial....... I have not got the written directions at the moment but I will try my best to add it to my blog over the weekend and I will pop a link to it here for you :) xxx

    At the start of row 3, is the first double crochet in the 1st or 2nd chain from the hook?

    • @roccobabycrochet
      @roccobabycrochet  9 месяцев назад +1

      It goes into the very first stitch….. when you finish row 2 chain one (this is just a turning chain and does not count as a stitch) place your very first stitch of row 3 into the top of the 1st stitch (this is the last stitch you made in row 2) I really hope that makes sense and helps you out xx

    for row three is it fine if you end with edc?

    • @roccobabycrochet
      @roccobabycrochet  Год назад +3

      I have always started with an even number of foundation chains so that means row 3 will finish with a regular DC. I have never tried it with an odd number of chains sorry xxx

    Actually you are doing single crochet, and calling it a double crochet???

    • @roccobabycrochet
      @roccobabycrochet  10 месяцев назад

      I use UK terminology so a UK Double crochet is a US single crochet....... I do try to make that clear as it can get a little confusing xxx

      @Enoo-Wynn 7 месяцев назад +1

      Didn't you know US and British crochet terminology is different?
      I wonder how the difference came about. At least it's not as embarrassing as the difference in meaning of "Fanny"! 🙊😮😆
