This is perfect. I purchased this pen about a month ago and I started to notice this as well. It doesn't bother me in the slightest and I just happened across this video. I was curious about the cause and now I have my answer. Thank you, kindly. I appreciate the explanation.
You are great - to make a video so quick to a viewer's question. I meant to say .010 - didn't have my calipers handy - they are at work. Great to hear from another Engineer (I'm a Quality/Manufacturing Engineer). i was trying to figure a way to disassemble - it wasn't clear. Thank you so much!
No worries buddy, as soon as you asked about it I figured I should figure it out for my own curiosity as well. Did a video since there's no way I could have done that explication with a comment. Plus might help other folks as well. You caught me at the right time when I had a few minutes to kill. Give me a subscribe/like/share if you could 😁
This is exactly my problem as well Bought it from the Frankfurt flagship Faber Castell shop. The issue either wasnt there when i tested the pen or I didnt notice. The pen is so great looking. I wish there was a way how to fix this. I have written to Faber castell some five days ago, but havent received an answer yet.
Again thanks for the great video. What I ended up doing (because it was bothering me) is I taking a fine toothpick and applied a very, very small bead of Gorilla Glue between the clip and the cap. I let cure and it has so far it's mitigated the slop and the clip still functions. I'll see about the longevity of this solution. I still think for the price of this pen, this should not exist. Still really like the pen and it will be a keeper.
I also had this issue as well. The top part of the cap is threaded on to the plastic liner with a hefty amount of thread lock. Twist off the very top, clean the threads, and tighten back down until the clicking stops. I did this and no clicking after months of use.
I have the same pen. And I have been using it for a year, that black anodized aluminum coating has been faded away on the gripping section of the pen and even the overall pen is getting dull looking. How is your pen now? And how can I get the Pure Black version again apart from anodizing it? Shall I use spray paint (the same Matte Black colored one) to get that finish? Please reply.
My pen is doing great, no wear at all. I'm surprized your anodizing is coming off from just gripping the pen. It's a very hard & durable finish. I would first try to contact faber castell & see what they say. I wouldn't spray paint. The pain doesn't adhere well & will come off pretty quick
@@Doodlebud Thanks for your reply, mate. And kindly try contacting them to know the reason and what should we do from our side to get that same finish again.
Después de lo que vale , es un problema que debería tener en cuenta . No es un bolígrafo cualquiera. Si presumen de tradición , y de hacer tan bien estos artículos , deberían retirarlos hasta solucionar el problema . Me molesta . Y me arrepiento de haberlo comprado

Hope they are all get back to you. It doesn't bother me really. Doesn't impact the pen so I'm ok with that little quirk
Hello there.Did they get back to you?
Good informative video. Superb technical knowledge. Thinking of buying this pen today.
Again thanks for the great video.

Ahh didn't know it was a twist off. I tried but mine was tight so didn't want to make a new problem since the little click doesnt bother me too much

Drop liquid glue into the bottom of lid. It helps and fix it. Glue must be liquid.
200 Euros , y no cierra bien ? El capuchón baila al cerrar ???
