I recently got the Pure Black version of this pen since you recommended it in one of your videos and It's truly an amazing pen. It's heavy and thick, the nib is super smooth and It's very beautiful. I might buy many more of these very soon.
I've got the black one in broad and you remembered correctly, it's a regular round tip. Thanks for the review, and thanks to Joost. You're both such huge supporters of the FP community and I love what you guys do. Happy Fountain Pen Day!
Just a minute ago I was using and enjoying my FC Neo Slim (EF), and also for reverse writing for EEF. My most enjoyable pen, along with an M. A slender alternative way to get that superb nib. Not as attractive as the E-Motion, but stylish in a minimalistic way.
I have seen the neo slim with two different nibs, one is the same nib as the emotion/loom/ambition and the other with the same nib as the hexo/writink/grip. Which model did you get? The writing experiences of both nibs are different and in our market the neo slims are sold with the grip/hexo nibs which are inferior imo
I also have the Neo-Slim in EF, along with the E-Motion. I agree with you 100%. The heft of the E-Motion is nice to use for a certain amount of time while writing, but there is that moment when one must say, "enough is enough" and give the writing hand a rest. So far I have enjoyed all my FC pens, all well made and excellent writing experiences.
@@ichirofakename I was fortunate enough to have the cracks when mine arrived. But, logistically speaking, it is bound to happen to me sooner or later. Sorry yours arrived with cracks.
I have had this exact pen for several months, and I absolutely love it. It is heavy, surprisingly so, but the design of it does make it very comfortable in my hand, and the writing experience is fantastic. I really have to rate this medium nib among the smoothest of my nibs, rivaling I would say pretty much all my gold nibs as well. I typically do not post my pens, and although this pen is relatively short I do not post it either. So I cannot speak to how that experience is. Nice with you, I would recommend this pen to anybody who likes a heavier pen.
Hi. Nice review as was the other of the pure black... Which led me to acquire the pure black. I love the pen but I hope that you can take the time to answer a question regarding the cap: The inner sleeve seems to be somewhat disengaged. This is noticable when the main body of the cap is twisted but not when the end is twisted. Any advice? Is this normal? Thanks again for the great videos and I hope my questions can be addressed.
A very nice pen, but at 76gr it is quite heavy. I have the parque version which weights 45gr and I find this is my upper limit for a fountain pen (and I have quite big hands). And yes Faber Castell makes some Amazing steel nibs !
I have a Chinese copy of this pen (I honestly didn't know about the Emotion when I bought it!). The design is very comfortable in the hand, both in form and weight. Mine has a very smooth nib, and is currently my favourite 'full-size' pen. I like this Pure Silver, and it is going on 'The List'.
How does it NOT drive you crazy that every Faber Castell nib writes so well but the high-end pens can have issues? That was rhetorical but this one begs a response please. Would this type silver finish tarnish? I LOVE the color but I’m not a real patina fan.
On the word of a certain RUclips fountain pen reviewer, who had mentioned that FC steel nibs were on of his favorites, I decided to head over to my friendly neighborhood pen and stationary store to test out some of FC nibs. They were fantastic. The only problem was that I found most FC pens in the typical German, utilitarian fashion. Meaning ugly (to me). Then I came upon, on sale, an E-Motion in Ivory Croc. I fell in love; I bought it; I used it, and it is by far the smoothest steel nib I have. It's broad; it's wet, it's juicy, it has heft; and is feels like writing on silk. Combine everything, and it's a writing experience I'll never forget. You always remember the first time. 100% recommend. If anybody wants a cheap throw around pen, I would suggest the FC Schulfuller. I paid $10, good snap cap, rubberized triangular grip (softer and so much better than the Safari), only comes in a Medium, but for a really smooth, very comfortable to hold pen for $10, nothing beats it. BTW, how crazy is it that this video is 11:11 long?
Strange. It seems that Faber-Castell's nibs vary widely within the same size. I have a Pearwood Emotion with an M nib. And while it's the best steel nib pen I've ever used, I would also say that it is the smallest M I've ever used. Despite having an M prominently displayed on the nib, it produces lines thinner than many other F nib pens that I have and is in no way stubby. To hear that your M is quite stubby just feels wrong to me.
Yes, there's a small maker in Japan that makes Argentium nibs, which is basically 99% silver nibs. There's a review of it on RUclips if you look it up.
@@korax67 I've only used their UEF and their SF nibs. I REALLY like the SF nib. Nice and bouncy and with a flick of the wrist you can add since flair to your writing. The UEF I couldn't get to write well. It was actually scratchy, not just because it was fine but it was taking up chunks of paper. I need to send that off to get tuned up but I mostly bought it as a novelty anyway.

I have one of this black color..how much the price for now!.
I have a Black Emotion set. They are built to write and last forever. The wood series are very nice as well.

How does the E-Motion compare to a Diplomat Aero? According to your review, both seem to have similar characteristics.
I just watched your 8 year old video on the Faber Castell Loom! Wonder why the past always looks so nice!

8:14 Reminds me of the bad dubbing jobs on old Japanese Godzilla movies. Anyway, I do like the pen.
When can we expect more SBRE Brown ink to be available?
The ink is available. Akkerman is awaiting a shipment of empty bottles.

major editing issues after the writing sample !!!
Why do you keep reverse writing? It rarely seems to work. I could live without seeing that again.
Because if I don't, people ask me if I can include reverse writing.
I suggest calling that slide-on thingie - a shell, so slide-on shell :)
I wonder if anyone has ever made a solid silver fountain pen nib.
