This is a step by step tutorial of how to draw a Rose in the Old School tattoo style. This type of rose can be used in just about any design. This is part one and its of a more basic rose, another video will be coming soon that will show some more advance techniques and show you how to create your own original styles

Thanks, I never really copied other artist work but I've always taken inspiration from looking at other artist work and still do, its one of the best ways to improve. Studying and picking out cool ways they might have done a certain part and then tried to put my own twist on it.

Thanks glad you like it. The brand of markers I use in this video are Tria Markers but you can get the same kind of colouring from Promarkers, Flexmarkers, Copic Markers etc I use all of these and there all pretty awesome.
Hi there, the pencils I use are just basic standard pencils usually a 3H and a 3B for light detail and dark shades. Pens are usually uni pen fine liners and colour markers are usually tria or flexmarkers. hope that helps :)
Theres a few different markers but the best ones are tria markers and flexmarkers because of brush tip. best bet is buying a 12 set of flexmarkers on amazon or somewhere like that. Tria markers are very expensive but every now and again letraset do a half price sale. they're pretty awesome, once you get them you'll find it hard to go back to basic markers
Sure, Flexmarkers are brilliant buy one of the 12 packs with a good range of colours. Promarkers are good for solid colouring but no so much for shading, copic and tria markers are great aswell but they are more expensive

great vid budd, i got one question though. i see different artist using different markers. I see them using copic markers or tria markers. Is this just a personal preff thing? or does it actually make a big difference in your flash?

Hi im 24 and want to learn how to draw and learn tattooing, got any tips? most of your designs and tutorials i can complete where the images are pretty decent for a first try, but when i try to draw something like a koi without an sample or tutorial. its really bad. any tips for me . thank you sir, great art, you are a really great artist.
If you're still wanting tips, I would try doing studies. Once you draw things over and over you begin to remember how it should look when you draw it without a reference.
