Seems like forever since I have done one of these! This is going to be a two part video where I go into detail on how to draw the concept and layout of a sheet of traditional flash featuring skulls and snakes. In the next video I will be showing you how I line and paint this sheet up.
Maybe can you make a video on how to draw classic pin up girls please?
These videos are amazing! So glad to have stumbled upon them
I just wanted to say that you have helped me SO MUCH with my flash skills. I love drawing traditional flash and I'm definitely still learning, but your traditional flash videos have taught me so much and I would be hopelessly lost with drawing in this style without them, and I just got copic markers yesterday and my shading already looks 10 times better. Thank you so much, you should definitely make more of the traditional flash videos!!!!
Haha thanks :) and thanks for liking I really appreciate it!
I'm so glad I found your channel man, I just graduated from college and have been in a bit of a slump lately because of job hunting. Youve gotten me really inspired!
all your videos are INFORMATIVE and FUN to watch!! stay at it man!!
really looking forward to see this lined up and colored!
Love the old school style. I'd love to see you draw some anchors and maybe banners. Keep up the great stuff, cheers.
I was a total state at download I don't even think my friends recognized me haha. I will probably let people know if I'm going again next year as it would be good to meet some youtube people! Thanks glad you like them!
Aw thanks! Glad you're into it :)
I'd also love a sketching tutorial on drawing more pin ups and traditional flash men and women. Also possibly using different line techniques and such (hatching and cross hatching maybe?)
It's a very good video like the others :) it would be very nice to do a tutorial on how to draw traditional eagle
Yet another awesome video from one of my favorite youtubers! I have to say, your tutorials are the best on RUclips :) I've improved so much with your help, my drawings look more and more tattooy (?) with each of your videos, so thank you :)
great videos mate, you've put a lot of time and effort in! but the background music is doing my head in!
Hey ^^ I've just moved to london for university after 4 years of art school and am getting into the industry soon hopefully. I've got tonnes of catching up to do and your videos are really helping. Thanks man
Always glad to help!
GDGTV
Dude that was great!! Can you put those on deer antler to carve it out? I saw some on ebay a week ago or so. Cool video too!!
I'm glad to hear it! Thanks :)
Yeah I have been meaning to do eagles for a while actually!
Cheers mate! That's what I'm here for!
cant wait to see the finished results :)
Yeah sure...I don't actually have a sheet with hands in it actually now I think about it! Have to sort that one out
It's online now!
This has absolutely nothing to do with tattooing so I apologise, but I just noticed your Download wristband, and was thinking how cool it would have been to see you there. As you probably guessed I was there myself, but anyways...great video :) I have become addicted to watching your videos.
Yeah pretty much, I think everyone starts by just drawing stuff they have seen elsewhere. It's a great way to learn rather than trying to do bad ass original artwork straight away! I have seen people do that too and it's always crap haha
Will be online later tonight mate!
I don't use line weights for traditional stuff I'm affraid but I'm sure there is other videos out there about that subject
Haha yeah right...you had a one on one tutorial with me mate feel privileged!
Cheers I appreciate it!
Hello from California, US! I'd love to see how to do any animals-like an owl or horse or wolf-in a traditional style!!
No worries :)
Hey man! You are amazing! I would really love "a hand" drawing traditional style hands! If you wouldn't mind that would be awesome! Hands holding roses and such.
Hey brother doing the double circles is a awesome throw on roses now this thanks brother I really like man
No worries mate glad to help
Love your videos!
I just found your channel and theeeese aaaareee suupeeerr niiiceee!
Thanks :)
loving the grimshaw reference! looks wicked good! quick question what is a good substitute for copic as there a little bit expensive and hard to find
Heres the deal. So I was able to get my hands on all the markers but the C7. Will blending and shading still be doable without it? I was even able to get the C3.
How did you create that stained effect on the flash sheet in the How To Paint Tattoo Flash With Markers - Old School Skull and Snake Designs video?
Great video!
VERY helpful!
Thank you Sir!
Ha sorry man some people say they like it some people don't but you can't please everyone. I have changed it now to a different loop anyway
Can you do a tutorial on traditional hands?
I am wanting to become a tattoo artist, but the problem is I've never been a big people person when it comes to dealing with close-minded and difficult people. That's one of my biggest fears if I were to get into this industry is having very demanding clients. Do you have a video on how to deal with difficult clients?
You don't actually want to be a tattoo artist then. Over half the job is interacting with customers. That's like saying I really want to be a defense attorney, I love law and want to specialize in the type that heavily involves people, but I don't like people. Any advice? Judging by the fact this comment is 2 years old I'm guessing you aren't tattooing.
An artist who guest at our studio regulary is actually really introverted, he hates talking to people, hate people who are difficult. And yet he travels the world and lives as a tattoo artist. In the beginning he had to bite down and just suck it up, when there was difficult clients. Now he tells them to fuck off if they start acting difficult. He's an amazing artist, but sucks at conversing.
So no, you can make it as a tattoo artist and not be a people person. As long as you are good enough that people want your art.
could you do a video on line wight and pen control
Hey man how did you learn the traditional style? Did you start by copying old school Jerry flash?
how to draw daggers!
Thank you
Hey bro I want to get into tattooing and I'm pretty good at drawing and I'm really good at painting. My only problem I have is coming up with my own ideas for a piece. Like if I tried to draw a skull without looking at something it would be complete rubbish but if I looked at something it would turn out great. Any advice for that??
Most tattooists use references :P
Agreeing with the other reply, the more behind the scenes action I see from tattooing the more I can say this is true. When you've been drawing for years you will tend to find your own "niche" or style of drawing. Up until that point referencing is highly recommended, just don't outright copy anything without paying credit. Continue practicing painting from references like sailor jerry, bert grimm, or dietzel, these are good practice, you can elaborate upon the designs to give it your own twist. Plus there's a lot more to tattooing then just drawing well, you need to know the history behind it, how machines work and are built, how to properly utilise them etc, as well as number one thing to learn about, hygiene. Any reputable artist, the thing they take most care with is hygiene.
Totaly agree with the above comment, i will say this though... Learning to tattoo isnt easy...and dont mistake it for being anything like what u see on tv because its not...iv been an 'apprentice' scince February last year and im 21, i started looking into it at 18 when a just turned 20 i went to a local shop to ask questions and luckily one of the artists took me on, because i done my research i knew what was comin, for one...u will do alot of drawing and u will be asked to do them for a deadline, answering the shop phone and dealing with social media and customers, cleaning, setting up and breaking down artist's work stations properly and following the correct and most hygienic process... If ur in the uk u will need to get... and pay for yourself..a hep c jab (costs vary...i paid 55 for mine but can be higher)...and finally... .something that puts most people off... it is very rare in the uk (if u ar in the uk)..to get paid for ur apprenticeship.... Tattooing is self employed...so they would have to pay you out there own pocket and thus meaning their loosing money.. However...if u are passionate about it and can get a part time job to keep going....go for it... Ul meet some amazing people and every day is diffrent and...so long as u and any other artists get along...u will have a good laugh :)
Yeah. I just recently got put on as an apprentice at one of my local shops. Pretty happy with that lmao. I'm only 17 so I got pretty lucky
could you pls do a tutorial for how to draw snakes ? :)
I love watching your video's!! They are really helpful and gives me idea's as well as helping myself with different techniques. This may sound like a very odd request but I am currently working on my own tattoo portfolio. It's only in the basic stages (around 20 drawings so far, with a lot to finish off). They have been uploaded on my facebook page dedicated to my designs and I was wondering if you could take a look and give me a little advice (: Hope you read this and get back to me :D
Yeah sure message or email me (contact form on my website) a link to the page and I will take a look
Por que parou de postar os videos?
