- I am absolutely loving my new Porsche 718 Boxster GTS but the exhaust note is a little bit quieter than I would like. I now have more noise thanks to a new Milltek Sport exhaust. In this video we will talk about what is coming off the car and the details of the system going back on the car.
I also get a chance to drive a Stage 2 Porsche Macan GTS with a Milltek system and am simply blown away by the noise it makes !!

Big improvement with the sound of the exhaust on the Boxster. The zorst on Macan will make people think the driver is a nob, in my opinion.
And you Sir are correct - You would need your head looking at if you did that to a Macan.
In my learned opinion, anyone who puts a pop and crackle exhaust on a prestige car certainly IS a total nob.

while i agree with comments regarding Porsche warranty ETc , you didn’t buy from an OPC , an approved used so not sure if yours came with the 2 years Porsche warranty

Ive just bought a Macan turbo and seeing your vid On the Macan im not sure if i could handle that noise , somewhere in the middle would be a nice sweet spot 👍🏻👍🏻

Definitely an improvement on Lady P, sounds just right now 👍 ….. whilst I’m sure the Macan is a beast to drive, I’m afraid that exhaust sound, outside of a racetrack, is just that bit too shouty and look at me for my taste 😆
Re. The macan (and most aftermarket exhausts / tunes now) - a few “natural” sounds pops and cracks on overrun sounds good, but too many (as in this case) just sounds too chavvy sorry.
Like the sound of Lady P Peter, that’s a nice improvement. Macan is too much for me. Great fun if you are driving but anyone else would just think ‘what a tool’. Gotta get the balance right imo.
Over Run on the Macan was not a monster. It was ridiculous and shouts I’m a knob.
Boxster surprised me. Nice change.
Not sure on a long run I could live with it loud all the time.
On a long run at constant throttle it’s not actually that loud. It’s mainly on acceleration and overrun it’s different 👍 No drone either 👌

It does sound much, much better but for my ears and heart it'd sound even better with 2 more cylinders.

Definitely worth the effort.
You mentioned 'OCD' levels that you appreciate, however, my OCD gland is hurting due to A) the rear numberplate IMHO is way too oversized and spoils/detracts from the rear end styling of the 718 which is one of its features. And B) the UK sticker is on the right of the numberplate, useful in the UK when driving on the left but again IMHO would be more usefully placed on the left.

Congratulations,Lady P does sound very good now.The Macan is a great car, but that one is too loud for me I'm afraid.After a few miles the noises would drive me round the bend.

Millets systems look and sound mega. Well done ! Just wondering why your rear number plate has a cutout on the bottom edge and the bottom corners are cut off ?The look upsets my OCD something rotten as the plate doesn’t fully fill the space.
Forgot to say the rear plate is the new mud flaps.

Great improvement in soundtrack on Lady P, and looks like a high quality product from Miltec. However could you comment on the warranty question🤔 The Macan GTS another desirable set of wheels, but that exhaust a step too far.😥

It's an mot failure for a number plate that's illegally spaced, and an offence of £100 if you get stopped by the police, you have a good channel but having a disregard for the laws of the road makes you look a little irresponsible
Ped, Your GTS turned out real nice with a nice deep rumble and not too much of the backfire nonsense going on when you lift off the gas pedal. When you drove the Macan GTS, I was worried your car might turn out that way but thankfully what you got was a perfect upgrade for anyone with a 718 looking for just a bit more of an authoritative sound. Congrats!

@@crimsonpirate1710 he has either let the warranty lapse or he intends to take the system off before he takes it into Porsche if it has a problem and hope Porsche don’t know what’s up.
Its a back box, not like he has tuned it or even changed the cat along with OPF, which makes the real difference in terms of exhaust sound.
Good video, but TBH, I used to love your videos however this channel seems to be going the way so many other car channels are going nowadays and becoming a bit obsessed with promotion of other companies and you seem to have lost your USP. Shame as I used to enjoy the videos.
Sorry to hear that Leon. I am trying to tread the fine line of monetising the channel to fund the making the videos my audience wants and hopefully enjoys whilst not selling my soul to the devil. It’s not an obsession but a necessity once RUclips grows to a point where you are full time. I still try hard to be true to the style that got me to where I am and hope you keep watching 🙏🏻
I appreciate you taking the time to reply to my comment. I also appreciate they you are ultimately making a living from your channel. I just miss the unbiased car reviews that you used to do. For me I suppose the issue is that once people start paying you to promote them, you become less Independant and are less able to give your honest views on cars. I know this is the way the world of RUclips is going and I am happy that you are making this a success, but just wanted to make you aware that you should not lose sight of your original subscribers too. Take care and I will continue to watch.
Totally Agree...Going down the same road as another self obsessed car mod, come scan tool channel, and that guy's credibility is way on the slide!!
I’m biased review landing on the channel tomorrow and that is of my Hendy long termer. My credibility and honesty are very important to me and are something I highlight whenever choosing a partner for the channel. Let me know what you think tomorrow 👍
@@PetrolPed - :Look forward to it. 😄In terms of feedback on the Macan, I think it was a bit too overdone in my opinion. I would feel embarrassed driving around with that much noise. A Porsche is a class of car that should not really be treated like an old Vauxhall Nova from the 80s and 90s. I do like the improved sound on the Boxter though. As you said, not too obnoxious or arrogant.
Yours sounds great mate and a nice tone to it too. I’m all for having a nice sounding exhaust and I’ve got a cheeky Hayward and Scott on my V8, but that Macan with those gunshots was a bit silly. A shame really as the exhaust note sounded good.

Glad you made the wise choice of straight piping. Had the team at Porsche racing do mine, custom welded as one piece and its been a wonderfully beautiful addition to the my BS. After 4 years of driving it l love the different modes. Cars very pleasant in normal mode and find myself in that mode mostly. The low end torque makes fast driving like cruising for most. At the track l will run it in sports plus manual mode with all assists turned off. Ive lightened the car by around 80kg, stage 2 tune has the car running around 3.2 sec. Probably one of the most underrated cars on the road today. Reliable, fast, comfortable, looks amazing, sounds amazing and is a little bit special 😁
With films and experiences like this you're going to have to increase your range of facial expressions to match, lol. Hope you're enjoying the GTS ! Presumably the neighbours are happy, lol.

Had A milltek exhaust fitted to my R8 V8, magic, worth every penny.
Pointless with noise cameras & fines being introduced for excess sound.
The exhaust on the Boxster it’s really that loud. It’s just got a better tone and more bass 👍

Another wonderful and interesting video. I must admit, I have a secret crush on Porsche vehicles, and can see the attraction. Beauties. However, I am also nearing my dream car, and having bought a Jaguar XJ R-Sport, I am blown away with the looks, 700nm, and luxury, but it's the F-Type S that's my dream car, and another 2 years and it should come true. So happy for you with the Porsche - truly beautiful.

Many years ago I took my Mondeo 2L Zetec S for a stainless upgrade, sounded great with a lovely burble at low and sweet upper range, then we went for our hols and caught a plane from Gatwick South at 2am, we lived in Notts then but the long journey down there the high tone of the exhaust droning was hell by the end, so when we got back I had a box added to tone it down, it still sounded better than original (did lose a way better sound though) but long journeys were easier on the family.
Macan would not be appreciated by my neighbors let alone the misses. That new Lady P sound on the other hand seems spot on. Love the nice 'no cutting' and adjustable fitment. Cheers!

Sorry Ped, I totally agree with others here about that disgraceful Macan sound.
I'm now content to be chugging around in our stock standard 2011 Mercedes B Class, rather than suffer that exhaust.
On the plus side, you've redeemed yourself mate, by having such a gloriously simple system installed that sounds magnificent.
In fact it sounds so NICE, that Porsche should work out a deal with Milltek, to fit it as an approve option.

Hi ped i had 3 rs Clio’s 2 197 and 1 Clio 172 cup and i fitted a ktec Renault cat back on every one of them and they were the best Sounding exhaust system’s that i have heard on these cars

Thats has improved your Boxster GTS imo so a result. However the Macan is terrible just needs chrome spinners. I think you were being diplomatic. Pops and bangs on my 981 spyder I grew to loathe in the end even in quiet mode.

I have one on my car also, Milltek make fab exhausts and you can pick the sound and look you prefer. I have the same tips also, a fab upgrade.

For those of us who are paid up anoraks, it would have been useful to communicate the differences in weight (exhausts are heavy), the difference on the dyno...and the noise levels inside and outside the car at different speeds.
That’s why I want one!!

Not bad Pete it may be quicker than my 981 Boxster S but I'm afraid you can never replace that flat 6 sound.
Mine has the full sports plus & chrono package and the exhausts always start open as the vacuum driven valves default to open so it always starts with a bark and then quietens down after 10 seconds.
The howl and overrun crackle it makes with the valves open is addictive but you can turn sport off and its quite stealth.
Evening all... Great video and awesome pipes. The sound isn't over the top but has a very nice tone for Lady P. The Macan has Called the Cavalry, it's an absolute beast and have to say, a wee bit too loud for me. Glad you like your new install Ped, definitely worth it, especially for the efficiency of allowing the engine to breath. Far too much technology on cars now, not all a bad thing though 👌
That Macan sounds the dogs , i hope it’s got a neighbour mode , can’t imagine that noise at 5am would be to popular.

That sounds better Pete, back in the eighties exhaust pipes were a lot simpler, you could just put a cherry bomb exhaust to make it growl and pop. I put one on my old MG Midget, it sounded great until I drove it on a long journey.

Great video. Go for it I have a Macan GTS, 991.2 gt3 and a boxster GTS 4.0 on order. The milltek has transformed you GTS 2.5 though. Don’t know whether the milltek on the Macan is a bit too much on the overrun and invalidates the warranty I guess

After hearing the pops and bangs on that Macan I thought “here we go, another one like your mini”! I hate he pops and bangs. I way wrong, that exhaust sounds way better than the standard exhaust.

Boy racer! what a waste of money! in the big scheme of things it really is unimportant! Many people can't even keep a car on the road in these days so be happy with what you've got, it's way out of most peoples finances. Be content.

Great vid as always Pete!! The Macan is way too loud for me, I’m getting too old! Lady P absolutely perfect, what a noticeable difference, lovely deep rumble, couldn’t hear to many bangs or pops making it unsociable. Certainly considering the same system now for mine in the near future 👌👍

And the vacuum line where just plugged ?
No drone and even though it doesn’t have a valve anymore it just sounds great all the time. Not too much. Even my wife likes it 😂 The just put a blanking plug in the vacuum line. I have the original system so I can put it back to standard 👍
I really don't like over run. Is there any way to get rid of that and keep the good bit?
They could have let you borrow the macan to take your exhaust home that would be an express courier service ! Nice choice on tail pipe 👌

Morning my friend. The Macan defo made me smile. Lady P now barks like she should, OPF etc have totally spoilt a lot of modern cars in terms of sound. The latest RS-6 a prime example.

That Macan sounds Demonic. I love it. Your Boxster went from mild mannered Lady P the ballet dancer to raucous Lady P the belly dancer. It almost sounded like a small block Chevy V8 at start up. Kudos to Milltek.

Was going to get the 4.0 GTS but realised I was about £80k short. Not at all envious :-) Glad that the owner of the Macan doesn't live near to me, the current trend of popping and banging shouts boy racer and that sounds downright annoying.
