Got rid of my 981 S for a 718 Cayman base with Sports Chrono. The 718 is faster & everything about it is better. Yes, I even like the exhaust note. Volume can be adjusted on the steering wheel if you have the upgraded heated wheel like I do. No turbo lag if you drive in Sports mode which I do. Even the turbo lag you mention is minuscule & only if you leave it in normal mode at practically a dead stop. When I’m moving, there is no lag. Everything else about the engine is so much better. Pulls like a freight train down low unlike the flat 6 which only picked up at higher revs. I’m a bit disappointed about your lack of knowledge regarding the engine performance between the flat 6 and the new flat 4. I would figure you guys would be a bit more informed. This car is meant for drivers & clearly neither of you are true drivers.
True, but, do you know the origin for Brit cars being RHD? It was due to the Royal Army or Cavalry to be precise. They insisted cars must be designed RHD so that Cavalry Officers would have their right hand free to wield their swords and fight like gentlemen. Problem was all those toffee nose twits thought because they were gentlemen that they were better than everyone else. However, they didn’t have a clue about engineering or driving a car. If they had, they would’ve specified LHD thus leaving the officer free to fight and wield their swords on the right side of the vehicle whilst their driver controlled the car from the left side of the vehicle. Additionally, they were elitist and arrogant too. They thought driving a car was above the station of an enlisted soldier and that they could do a better job of driving and fighting simultaneously. However, the big lesson they all soon learned was that when they were driving their cars they needed both hands to steer most of the time and occasionally one hand to change gears. Leaving NO hands to wield their swords. And once they realised their almighty cockup did they have the courage and common sense to correct their mistake? No! They stubbornly and arrogantly persevered with a mistake that has cost Britain and the world billions and billions of unnecessary spending. All that for a bunch of blithering burkes playing with their swords and waving them around. In the antipodes we have an appropriate “W” word to describe these twits who play with their swords.
Malcolm R Monaghan I believe Britain will regret Brexit. When Britain joined the EU they began breaking or seriously reducing economic and export/import ties with countries like NZ and Aussie. And they didn’t really care much about how it affected the Antipodes either. Those countries were forced to find new markets, which they did. Markets that pay much better prices for our better quality exports. Markets that are geographically closer and cheaper to freight to. Markets that have developing growth industry that doesn’t have all the political and industrial baggage of UK industry. Markets that offer better and cheaper trade options. The old British Empire isn’t worth a snap of your fingers nowadays. The Brexit promoters sold you all the biggest lemon in the history of the British Empire, with old delusional notions of an economic powerhouse of the 50s and 60s that, truthfully, are long gone... It’s all about population and geography and the EU is the best future hope for Britain. The Antipodes have closer more reliable and profitable markets to buy & sell (export/import) to. S.E Asia which has 50 times the population and industrial growth offerings that Britain has. Does Britain have the money to buy competitively and fund higher shipping costs too? Will the British people be prepared to pay the increased prices and put up with increased shipping times. I don’t think so. Britain represents less than 1% of the worlds population. S.E Asia is more than 50% of the worlds population. Brexiter’s had better reconsider their mistake before it turns into economic purgatory and Br - Ankrupt...
@@vijayhajari9069 very much agree. I have the base engine, though with the switchable sports exhaust and suspension, and I love it. I like the sound it makes, its more than fast enough on UK roads, and it feels fantastic. It sounds better in real than in all the videos but then I guess most cars do. Sure a six would sound better, but then a 10 would sound even better than a six. There's always a compromise.
Hey Guys, I own both a 718 Boxster S and a 992 C4S Cab so I'd like to share my point of view. I owned a 981 Cayman GTS before the 718 and I can tell you that the only thing that car does better than the 718 is engine noise. The 6 cylinder engine is sublime and musical. No doubt about it. If it were possible, I would prefer to have a 6 cylinder engine on the 718. However, the 718 is fantastic at doing everything else. Much faster than the 981, handles perfectly and the balance is spot on. All the new tech you crave in a modern daily driver and the looks (although always relative) are out of this world. I fully respect your opinions but there's one thing I just can't seem to agree with. The "I'm in a Boxster not in a 911" argument. IMO, that only applies to people who are looking to show off or that truly care about what other people think. People will always find a way to hate what you have. If you're in a Boxster they'll say you're not driving a proper P car. A 911. But when does this stop? If you're in a 911 Carrera, they'll say you drive the base model, not an S. If you drive a Turbo S they'll say you couldn't afford a GT2RS... and so on. If you own a 488 you're not driving a V12 Ferrari. Point in question? Haters will always hate. I've had tons of people compliment the 718 and I've had people say that I drive a C4S and not a Turbo S. What matters is that you enjoy YOUR car. If you feel self conscious about the car, mate, you've purchased the wrong car. Love my 718 and my 911. They are two different cars and I fully enjoy driving both of them. Once again, I respect your opinion and truly enjoy your content but I think you're in a position of "power" when it comes to giving advice to people and my take on this review was that you were quite agressive with it. In my country, Portugal, the 718 is the best selling Boxster since its creation. They must be doing something right, I say. My thoughts about the 718 are that it drives fantastic, looks fantastic, feels fantastic, sounds bad (but it's the price of progress. We would all love to own V12 cars). Thanks for reading and keep up the great work!
Hi João, to address one of your points quickly. We said how the opinion that a Boxster is only bought by people who couldn't afford a 911, has led to many amazing cars being missed. We weren't advocating that point of view.
@@TheCarGuysTV Thanks for the response and I now understand what you meant with that particular comment. 100% agree with you both on that point and also on the point that engine and sound is crucial in a car. The problem is that EU regulation (though fair) is destroying what we love about cars and what makes them emotional. I tend to buy my cars new, so I'm "forced" to face the current line up at Porsche. When I bought the 718, there was no other way but to go 4 cylinder. Same applies with the 992. Although it still holds the 6 cylinder engine, it's twin turbo. I won't be getting that 3.8 musical engine noise that gives you goosebumps. But gasoline particulate filters are also killing NA engines (718 Spyder, as you pointed out in your review). The engine doesn't sound like a screaming 4.0. In conclusion, when choosing a daily driver, although engine and sound are very important, all the other elements come in the equation too. At the 718's price point, I can't really think of any other car that ticks as many boxes as the 718 (in my opinon. M2C is really good but the looks are not my taste). 992 price range is another question (R8, Ferrari, etc.) but I would still pick a 911 for all the intangible things about this icon. Cheers!
João Macedo I totally agree with you, I own a 718 Boxster S, a 991 Carrera T and a 993. The 718 engine definitely isn’t as soulful as the 981’s, I really don’t think it’s that bad. By the way I genuinely sell sewing machines for a living. (Google my name). The rest of the car is amazing and it puts a smile on my face when I drive it, I found it more fun than a 992. True they are not holding there value, which is why I bought an 18 month old one (before the particulate filter, better sounding) £20k cheaper than new. Love you videos
I bought this car - paid in cash - a couple of months ago in black/red for 100k quids fully loaded. Long story short you dont understand the new 718. What other car is that fast on small streets as in the UK? I like the turbo sound of the engine so much, especially when the electric vents are on, and yes its different from the flat 6s. What is so great about it is the max torque from low 2k revs ... provided the sports mode is switched on in this sports car. What your car is missing though is electronic body control, seat and mirror memory, ACC, easy entry. The volume knob is on the right side. Its the steering wheel that is on the wrong side. This car is NOT built to go at 30-80mph but rather 130-180mph on the Autobahn. So you better get a cosy family Ford and be happy.
Right. I’ve now had 6 Porsches. I love the brand but I don’t like the issues that come with Porsche ownership. It’s OK if one is rich and can change a second (or third car) every couple of years, but I get emotional attached to my cars.I like to keep them in the family. They all have pet names. So why do Porsche, my favourite brand, build cars that have an inherent design fault (flat 6 engine) and have to be rebuilt every 100k miles or 10 years? Bore scoring, IMS bearings cross tubes, coffin arms, the list goes on and on. I’ve got a 911 997 with just over 80k miles on it. Yes is been diagnosed with early stage bore scoring. But that’s not all, because it’s a Gen 1, it will need an IMS replacement, plus the coolant pipes need replacing plus many of the brake lines. Cost of repairs? Parts about £15k. Labour probably the same although no one will commit to a definite number. That makes this 997 destined for the scrap heap! How dare Porsche make cars this bad with known design faults! So if the new 718 4 cylinder isn’t prone to bore scoring, then I’m buying one!!!!
The 718S is a mighty fine car - I bought one after owning a 992 and was amazed at how good it was considering the price. Ok the sound isn't as good as a 6 cylinder, but the power and delivery are great, styling is good and handling more than good enough. Surely any car which can change a Rolex into a Patek mid-filming can't be all bad!!
They have forgotten that time is changing. There are now more and more 4 cylinder sports cars with turbocharged coming over from 6 cylinder. Ie BMW etc. And soon it is all about electric car It is either you adapt or go extinct. Visionary to lead rather than being late to the party
@@williamho5636 fiction. Pure fiction. These environmental regulations are destroying the car industry and they're based on junk science. Germany's already gone into recession. There won't be any cars at this rate (which I know is the commie wet dream), and the price of everything will skyrocket because everything we eat or wear or use has to be delivered. It's just another disastrous, ill thought out commie idea that wrecks lives and peoples wealth. Nothing new here then.
@@williamho5636 Precisely. There is no fundamental reason why you can't make a perfectly good 4-cylinder sports car, but some people just don't like change and will never accept that things are different to how they used to be. There are lots of car manufacturers who failed to adapt to changes in the market. Rover being a good example. Porsche may have missed the mark with the character of the engine on this one, but they'll refine it, improve it over time, and probably end up as a class leader. That's what they do.
I personally think the 718 is a fantastic car, looks better than a 991 other than the GT2/3 line. Yeah, the engine isn’t fantastic In the noise department, but the actual drivability and torque is so much better than the old N/A it’s hilarious. Anyone who says they’re crap, either hasn’t driven one or is just jumping on the band wagon to fit in. Yours, Someone who’s owned far too many Porsches!
They're complaining about the lag but the 981 2.7 and 3.4 had no torque anyway Any modern performance SUV or hatchback would leave the 981 in the dust But at least you'll sound nice going slow
You guys were complaining about turbo lag when you accelerated from a 15 mph roll saying it took a few seconds for the turbo to kick in. That’s not turbo lag that’s gearing! It won’t kick back down to 1st at that speed. Clearly you guys aren’t knowledgeable car guys. Entertaining though!
These guys are so biased, as he said in the comments, that they only bought the car, because that is required to have an allocation for the Spyder... so it's obvious they were on the “wrong foot” from the start with the car... usually when we are forced to have something, it is very, very rare, that we like it and say good thinks about it!... For this kind of person PORSCHE is only 911, but they forgot the 718 is more of what PORSCHE considers to be a sports car, middle engine, small and nimble and of course only two-seater... To summarize, you don't like it, it is ok, there are plenty of people who like it, so much that to fulfil the demands, right now, the 718 lineup is being produced in two factories (Zuffenhausen and Osnabrück ). In their defence, I do also prefer the sound of the naturally-aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six engine, but the 2.0 and 2.5 Lt. engines are also very good, whether in terms of performance and if we "work" with the gearbox, they have no turbo lag, the sound is also good enough and I think they are worthy of being PORSCHE engines.
I got a 2018 base 718 Cayman, and actually, believe it or lot, get compliments for the sound. At local Porsche club meetings. People rant over the sound in the internet, but when they hear it live, they change their mind. Turbo lag? I can't notice it. I honestly can't. Haven't driven the S or GTS but the base model has zero lag. I drive my car all year round, was it +30C or - 30C. Best car I've had so far and I've had quite a few cars. I believe that people just jump on the internet bandwagon and mob the car, I mean if Car throttle says it, it must be true, right? And therefore they agree and spread the negative word. Car community has become a joke these days unfortunately.
You'll notice we're not jumping on the Internet bandwagon. We owned the car. So it's our personal first hand experience over a period of time. Not a 1-2 day loan from Porsche :)
Can't agree. I have base 2018, and all I notice is turbo lag and struggle/downshifting for even mild highway passing. The sound is good though, especially in Sport.
@@yeeegor I daily drive my car as I said before, and never had a case when turbo lag would've effected my drive.. And when driving spiritedly or on track, how often are you below 3k rpm? Very rarely (I hope).
@@TheCarGuysTV Might be your personal opinion of the car, but I'm pretty sure your opinion has been affected by the other RUclipsrs that are on the same bandwagon and moan about the sound. You even start the video by slagging off the car. You do you, it's your thing. I understand you gotta keep the same bandwagon as the others to maintain your channel image and to stay cool. It's a shame that people can't be honest these days and always gotta think "what would others think if we did what we actually wanted to do and say". 2020.
@@982porsche My opinion is 100% honest and my own. I’ve not watched a single other video on this car, but everyone I know who had one and many people in the trade had the same view. But since my view doesn’t fit your narrative you think you can be smart and say that I must have got my opinion from somewhere else. Try being smart somewhere else.
Two of the guys at the track run these, impressive agility and speed in & out of cnrs. Consequently they achieve faster lap times then the older gt4s, m2s and my Rs3. Both have the afternarket exhausts, sound nothing like this. The sound is actually something we all comment on as it sounds pretty good, somewhere between a v8 rumble and wrx. Sounds like thats a must rather then an option if they sound flat without them, although l didn’t here anything in your video that was God awefull.
I never liked the boxster until they made the 981. Totally re-engineered and really a new car compared to the previous generations with a brilliant flat 6 NA engine. Personally for me, the 981s and 981GTS are the cars to have from the boxster range.
Unfashionable now... appreciating classic in ten years time.. Handling, balance, practical,.. goes like stink, there’s no better .... 981s, 987s........also, awesome buys.
I have watched mainly your Porsche videos mostly because I’m a Porsche owner. But this review got me to subscribe. Real life comments “why are you covering your ears?”- “it’s horrible!” and “If that’s what a 4 cylinder turbo engine gives you, I don’t want one!” I had to respect. So, on that note..... I pressed subscribe. I wouldn’t worry about Porsche selling you another car. Spec’ing a Spyder and picking it up in 14 weeks surely means you are well liked. Porsche knows by now they made a mistake with that engine. No hiding from the truth.
Thanks for your comments, Scott and welcome to the channel. I'm pretty sure this sort of criticism may lead to my requests for special cars being 'mislaid', but life's too short to worry about that. If I don't get them, I won't worry. They just won't get my business.
Radio setup for left hand drive. The Japanese cars have the volume knob closest to the driver as they are right hand drive like the UK and AUS. So there are radios or ICE systems designed for right hand drive cars, perhaps it is about time European car makers source ICE systems that are due for export to right hand drive countries.
Love the honesty here. Very refreshing. I will say it's ironic that Porsche did the 4 cylinder for fuel economy yet gets worse real world efficiency than the old 6 cylinder
It's the same with every car. The big six cylinder BMW engines return such good fuel economy as you don't need to use the rev range to get performance.
Yup, a lot of stuff that regular journalists neglect to mention, like throttle response at junctions. Can't believe we're knowingly making cars inferior with turbos and electric power steering - all for no real reason. No idea where your car is on the road with EPS. Shite.
Phew, well glad to hear other people say it at last. This is why I've been wailing against the stupid environmental regulations from the EU which improve the fuel economy of cars on paper, but not in the real world. But they'll continue making stupid regulations until the car industry is destroyed. Hooray for Brexit! Means we're no longer under the thumb of the mad Marxists in Brussels! Well, at least I hope Boris doesn't continue these fictional 'green' policies.
@@lapamful You're going to be disappointed then. The UK was fully on board with the environmental regulations brought in by the EU, and voted in favour of them. The government have also been clear they have no intention of rolling back such rules post-brexit. Even if that wasn't the case the UK car market isn't big enough to have specific versions of mass-market vehicles, so we'll get the same cars that are sold on the continent. Any post-brexit trade deal is almost guaranteed to have regulatory alignment for cars in order to protect the UK car industry. The Conservative party has already committed to some of the most ambitious environmental targets in the whole of Europe, targeting net zero CO2 emissions by 2050, something which was re-iterated in their general election manifesto.
@@andrewmurphy9293 lol did you not hear the bit about the follow-up model being a flat 6 again? No industry would support it's own demise. It's early days yet. And just like the surprise win in the UK elections you can talk all you want. But the media being used as an instrument of propaganda cannot truly reflect thr mood of the people. So don't be surprised if tnings change dramatically in a new direction again.
The 718 GTS Boxster is my pride and joy. My Porsche dealer put in an AWE track exhaust system and that has made all the difference in the world. It also added 10 more horsepower making a grand total of 375! In such light car it takes off like a rocket. But it is the way it drives and handles a corner at 90 mph that is truly awe inspiring.
In my view, this is a biased and poorly crafted video. I was loaned a 718 for a few thousand miles and and was impressed by its many qualities - I disagree with many of the criticisms raised. Do you want to drive the car, or wear it as a pair of headphones? The four cylinder outperforms the six in almost all areas except the sound - you've completely missed the point, it's a car built for driving which it is very accomplished at. I couldn't understand the many references to a retired BT engineer (I'm not one by the way) you seem to have a deep seated issue with BT - is your broadband playing up or something? I'm sure that the makeup of 718 purchasers is wide and varied, but if they have the funds then good luck to them, whatever their current, or past profession - I'm sure they'll enjoy their car almost as much as the two presenters enjoy pontificating from a platform of ignorance. The comments section which compared the presenters to Statler and Waldorf (Muppet Show Old guys in the balcony) was the funniest thing about this channel. I noted that the Dislike/Like ratio of the channel of almost a quarter suggests to me that they are perhaps presenting contentious views in the hope of boosting their viewing figures. What a sad way to gain a few extra clicks. I'm sure that you can do better CarGuys if you really try to come up with something original.
The 718 is a great car. Most people shit talking them have never driven a Porsche. Let alone a 718. I have 981 and it is also a great car. But the only thing the 718 doesn't do better is sound. It's faster, probably handles a little better and has more low end torque. I drove one at the PEC Atlanta and was really impressed. And just for the record. Porsche has a solid history of using flat four engines for street and racing cars. They built the brand on them. And probably the most hated porsche is the 914-4 a VW or the 924an Audi. Both shit boxes extraordinaire.
@@TheCarGuysTV For fucks sake. Hopefully all your videos don't have so many commercials. At least not if you want people to watch the entire shit spewing episode. Porsche should have done what Jaguar did when the F type received a turbo four cylinder. They didn't drop the supercharger V6, they kept it as a mid level option. I'm hoping the new 6 cylinder engine for the 718 Boxster Spyder and GT4 will become an option, at least on the S and GTS models of the Boxster and Cayman.
I have a Carrera T and a 718 Cayman GTS. The 718 is very quick and handles great. The only thing it lacks compared to the Carrera is the satisfying sound of the flat 6 when “giving it the beans” as you Brits say :)
I test drove a 1999 Boxster about 5 times before ending up with a 1999 BMW Z3 2.5 six.. I love the way it sounded. I have been watching many videos about the 718 and they sound pretty good to me maybe it’s just the acoustics of a computer. I don’t see how it sounds like a sewing machine. It sounds like a four-cylinder sports car which most of your British cars have always been. My mothers 1955 TF-1500 which she has owned since 1958 with a three-quarter cam sounds pretty good because I know what it supposed to sound like. My 1970 Buick GS 455 stage one sounded different it was a 455 cubic inch V8. The best thing ever done to a British sports car was Carroll Shelby putting a 427 Ford in it. I think it almost sounds like a twin fire V8 like a Ferrari 348 or 360. I would still probably prefer the flat six, but I don’t think it sounds terrible. Yet I have to remember you drive on the wrong side of the road and drink warm beer. Cheers from an ally that’s been defending you for a century after having to kick your butt in two wars.. USA
@@computerhelpcc no need to go back in the annuals of time to find iffy Porkers that had people scratching their heads. Early Cayenne's or diesel powered Panamera's.
Absolutely agree; awful engine, awful gaps between tyres and arches, awful price. Great video as usual, plus I enjoyed watching the Watches of Switzerland advert halfway through. First time I've ever watched an ad from start to finish, and this one was over 9mins long! Watch content is always welcome
I've owned my 718 S for almost 2 years now. Bought it as a CPO so I paid a good price for it. I had to have a convertible so this fit my budget better than a 911 Cabrio. Car looks and drives amazing. Much better than previous year. Checks all the boxes for me. Your gripes about the engine are exaggerated. The lag is not as bad as you claim. So it doesn't sound like the flat 6. Blast some tunes with the top down and tell me how it feels and sounds! It gets better MPG, has more torque and is faster. Enough said.
Nice one, Sal - that's how you construct a proper reply. Other 718-mentalists take note! I'm happy you're happy with your car. I didn't like mine for all the clear reasons I put in the episode. I don't think my disappointment with the engine is exaggerated, the lag is pretty bad (esp when cold), and I expected more from Porsche. I'm not trying to change anyone else's opinion, but I am expressing mine.
As someone who isn’t a Porsche snob. I like the boxster. It looks good, it’s plenty quick, it’s ‘affordable’, and it’s not that bad sounding for a 4 banger. If I got one, I’d just change out the exhaust and call it a day. Like I’m sure to people who live and breathe Porsche, it’s sacrilege to exist, but the car has helped bring loads of people into the brand and helps to make sure their top end cars can continue to be produced. I think the review was too harsh, personally.
That's absolutely fine and I respect that. These are my thoughts on the 718, but it obviously didn't put me off Porsche, as I've just got a 718 Spyder.
I had a 981 Cayman base. I liked it, but it wasn’t fast. I sold it when I had a bunch of surgeries that weren’t covered by insurance (American problems…) and couldn’t afford to keep it. I bought a civic. 4 years later now, and finally out of financial hell from medical bills and in a good place again, I just bought a 2016 981 Boxster GTS. It’s absolutely incredible. I could never buy the 718. Even the 4.0 doesn’t sound as good, and it’s not really any faster either. Not sure how it could be any more “refined” or more useable. It’s insanely refined.
@@fastdays_1 I had my reasons...it's a daily that I drive in town so their's drastically more power. I also like the blind spot monitor and back-up camera...these cars have awful blind spots. I do miss the sound, but I like a warranty.
The 718 is nowhere near as bad as people make out, the sound really isn't that awful at all...but I wouldn't swap my 981 for anything with 4 cylinders.
I agree 100% with the harsh judgement on the ill-advised downsizing of the 718. however, due to its mid-engine set-up, the flat-six porsche boxster 981 (2012-2016) has by far the best handling of any porsche out there: "hairdresser`s choice", my *rse!
I had the original boxster.....and I’m not a hairdresser......and loved the drive of that car with the six......would I get a 4 in a Porsche....NO......that’s why I went 911 and will continue to until they put a 4 or an electric in it! Another great honest review 😉
I can’t speak for a first time boxster buyer of a 718 boxster, but as an owner of a 6 cyl version i just can’t justify spending a fortune on a new version boxster with a 4 cyl ! It’s a big NO ! That’s my mindset on the situation. Just can’t do it.
Love the car guys honesty, they film as if they are live talking to the audience, nothing is scripted or said against their own beliefs to please anyone else. Great video fellas👏 keep up the fantastic work.
I do not hate it. I have actually driven it though. What the fuss about is the fact that the flat six is gone. Some say Subaru sound now. It is faster and smoother, more responsive from the older version. When I drove it, I eventually forgot about the engine. Besides, if you are going to listen to the radio, it won't matter. I did not drive the S though, just the normal. I think that helps in responsiveness. BTW, golf clubs have always been a complaint of the Boxster. Nice job! I always enjoy your channel. Heidi (Heidi and Franny's Garage).
Definitely nowhere near as exciting as the 981, but the title of most hated Porsche should go to the Macan or Cayenne, at least this is an actual sports car and not just a badge engineered VAG platform!
Oi, steady. On my second V8 Cayenne, this one’s a diesel and they are brilliant cars, nice bit of v8 burble, go embarrassingly well and does 1000km on a tank full.
You need to take a Cayenne Turbo with PTV and air suspension and larger wheels out for a test drive and you will be convinced how amazing a car it is. One RUclipsr years ago took a Cayenne out on the track with a 911 and found the difference in track time negligible.
It's not the lag that I hate most about a turbo, It's what is does to the sound and the revs. finally, I never thought a Porsche could ever be a "laggy" as my Prius. Good job Porsche.
While you listen to your flat 6, I'll come steaming past in my 718.....i love mine !! I have to say, I've seen a few of these videos and the engine live, sounds a lot better than these videos.
I am afraid you're in a minority but I am glad you love it. With few lovers of the car it's not helping Porsches bottom line and damages viability of what is a great model. Ripping out the 6 cylinder heart was a bad move.
@@snowbandit56 obviously : a 4 cylinder boxermotor sounds like ... a boxermotor ! Just like a diesel sounds like a diesel. So strange remark you've made.
Hi guys agree with your review... The dreaded turbo lurge is a killer. Although, I have a theory that Porsche’s diesel buy back and destruction scheme has had a significant impact on pricing increases, but, second hand prices have not proportionally changed which is why there’s such a heavy depreciation. Thanks for another good, truthful and straightforward video..👍👍👍
First off, it's one of the best handling cars out there. It has a sub 4 sec to 60 and an 11 second 1/4 mile. The 4pot in it is glorious when an exhaust is put on it. I came out of a 911 and this car is faster, handles better and to my eye has a more sport look esp with how big the 911 has become. There is barely any turbo lag and the amount of torque you get is nutty. On track the increase in TQ compared to the flat 6 is substantial and really helps rocket you out of corners. I think the purists are missing just how impressive this power plant is and is by far one of if not the best on the market. Am I biast because I own one, maybe but I have owned many high end sports cars along with other Porsches incliding 911s. This car is a samurai sword. Its a shame what is being said about it.
@@TheCarGuysTV It's fine to disagree. I just feel you harped on about the sound which is 1) not that bad and 2) can be fixed as I have done with mine. You misquoted the 0-60 times (3.8 w PDK), neglected to discuss how its far quicker and has more TQ than the previous version. Its faster around the track than the GT4. The chassis "feels heavy" because it is drastically stiffer and more robust. The brakes are the same as on the 911 which is a substantial improvement over the 981. You test lag in the wrong gear. Commented on handling when you are on narrow wet english backroads. I can keep going. It was just a lazy review and most of the people here have no experience with the car or the rest of the brands line up to be informed. I could go into the tech of the engine, and all its merits but I am not going to "win" an argument here so why bother. I appreciate that you tested the car, and an S model so that is at least a step in the right direction. Most of the time people test a base model which is not a fair assessment of the overall platform.
because i have driven both and the old flat six had lots of lag under 5,000 rpm, where as this one comes on just under 3000rpm. the turbo 4 gives you a big push and is faster, flat 6 slower but more top end and has gradual delivery, but definitely slower
I don’t think I’ll be trading in my old 986 Boxster S for a 718 anytime soon (not that I can afford to!) The flat 6 3.2 is the heart and soul of my car and still sounds amazing 15 years on
I own the 718 Boxster GTS. (2018) and I’m definitely not a retired BT engineer!! The GTS has a better turbo and uprated intake and therefore spools up much quicker down low. I barely notice any turbo lag. The sound on the 718 isn’t brilliant - agreed it’s no 6 cylinder. Though again on the GTS (68) I think it sounds better than your test model. Which I’m assuming has the new filters fitted. For me it’s my entry into the Porsche world. It’s great on insurance and has good road presence. Hopefully it’ll be a GT4 next!
Have to agree. I had the model before that and loved it. When it came time to consider the 718 I had it for a full 24 hours. Really glad to hand it back. The engine noise gave me a headache. 😀
Love your bold statements! Way more amusing than other reviewers "everything so good". Even though I didnt find the sound that bad nor do I think they marketed this more toward senior citizens than people who cut other people's hair lol very enjoyable video. In fact, I find the sound in the 4 cylinder more vocal than my 718 spyder…that one has an oppressed sound I couldnt live with.
Thanks you, Bo - that’s a very sensible approach and attitude. You recognised the humour and the hyperbole and didn’t take it personally. + 50 CarGuy points 👍
Jason! I'm 65 and I wouldn't buy one of those cars under any circumstances. I also agree with most everything else you said. So don't feel bad you won't have to start liking them when you grow up.
I’ve never considered the Boxster- until this one! The engine sound reminds me of the 914 - 2 litre, 35 years ago - raw and a bit wild. I like the idea of a modern 914- a slightly used one that has taken the initial depreciation hit should hold its value nicely.
I've just bought a 718 cayman. It's the first nice car I've owned. Or at least I thought it was. Lol. I absolutely love mine, but have nothing to compare it too. I've been driving around in sport thinking I'm the dogs danglies. Now I'm going to have to get a brown bag with two holes in it.😂. Mine is two years old and the depreciation seems to flatten out massively at this point. I want a used gt4 after this and if this is that bad in comparison I'm in for a treat. Love the channel and your honest reviews. Keep em coming
Great review. I wanted to buy this car because of the looks but luckily in the end I went for a C43 AMG, Engine has a glorious sound and it’s 4x4 perfect for Swiss winters!
Another enjoyable video. Be thankful your critical of a Porsche where you live rather than slating a Ferrari here in Italy.!! Looking forward to the next video. Grazie mille.
I drive a 981 Cayman at 27 (no retired BT employee here) and when I was purchasing it, I found the 718 cheaper in some cases than the 981s. Nothing beats that naturally aspirated sports chrono fun but I don't nessicarily think their market is older people or hairdressers. They're mostly for people who cannot afford a 911 yet. I paid around £34k for my 981 (all the bells and whistles too) and you can easily afford 2004-2008 911s for this price but they just look so dated compared to newer Caymans. Especially the inside. I think it's quite clear the issue with this car, as in this review you've not stopped about it. It's the engine. If you swapped it for the NA flat 6. It would be arguably one of the most perfect sports car. Thats called a GT4 which anyone sane would pick over an old 911. Even Porsche themselves are afraid of stepping on the 911s toes with the Caymans. They know it handles better.
I am a retired old fart and bought a 981 Boxster GTS. I could have bought a 911 but they are no where near as good looking as the Cayman and Boxster in my view. I wanted the looks to match the performance. The Boxster and Cayman do that perfectly.
I have the 986S and it sounds like I have the royal philharmonic orchestra in my boot, been looking at upgrading but after seeing this review I think I’ll keep my lovely 6 cylinder model.
Let's see, I've had a 987.1 Boxster S, a 987.2 Cayman S, and a 981 Boxster S. Loved them all. And loved this video. You guys are a hoot describing the 718, but calling out the truth as you hear and see it. Fun video and informative. (Recently sold the 981S but can't bring myself to tell you what I replaced it with.)
Mea culpa, Gents. I bought a C7 Corvette. Yup. First American car since owning a '70 Mustang 390 big block. I rewatched this because I found myself looking at a 718 Cayman S. Thanks for slapping some sense back into me - again. As always, I thoroughly enjoy your videos.
I hate the engine too. But that turbo lag test at the end of vid is not just the lag but mostly the wrong gear (2nd) and wrong RPM at 15 miles an hour contributed more. You clearly should be in first at 15 mph !
My 718 doesn't have the lag that you talk about. It is much quicker to take off than the 981 that I had previously. The engine is full of more torque than any of the previous models. AND THAT IS MY OPINION.
The 718 is a substantial improvement on the model it replaces. It’s quieter, more relaxing to drive and a good deal faster, but most of all it has got rid of the jittery rear end of the previous models. It handles much better. The old six was laboured and sluggish by comparison and even if you revved it to the limit all the time. The 718 is by far the best Boxster to date, true six cylinders sound better, but four give better power characteristics in smaller engines. Road tests aren’t terribly helpful and Internet opinions are often wide of the mark.
Funnily i disagree.. I've tried the 718S and i prefer my 987S. It feels lighter, and more connected.. It may not be as quiet and nice to be in as the 718, but for the sake of the drive.. 987\986 are the best cars you can buy for a reasonable amount of money..
Hann Pungartnik It’s very easy to try a car and get a totally wrong impression. It took me a couple of comprehensive test drives before I’d decided. For example the 718 steering is more direct, precise and lighter. My 987 wasn’t as accurate as my newer Mercedes for example. I doubt any manufacturer produces a new model that isn’t better than its predecessor. However many purchase decisions are subjective, modern cars outperform most owners capabilities so it is inevitable that something like an exhaust should attract discussion way beyond the engine’s vast performance improvement. Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be happy with your 987
@@ashleyjames308 Why should i be unhappy with my 987. In my eyes it's just a better car. Also, if you own a car, and test drive another, i doubt you need a car for days to see of it's better for you or no. In any case, no way in hell i'm changing my N\A B6 for a Turbo 4cyl. Also another thing. Porsche has just stated that Boxster, Cayman, Maccan, Panamera are all going to go be electric in the next 5,8 years. With the 911 and Cayenne being heavily Hybridized. These cars are gonna go up in prices, and fast Can't even get a decent 996 for under 20k in EU.... And another thing that really bugs me, you doubt that a car maker would produce a model, that would be worst than the last. That depends how you look at it. The quality of most cars has gone down. Replacing good quality materials with cheaper ones, and adding useless gizmos. So if you're all up for toys, lane assists and electric steering brackets, yeah the newer models are better than the old ones.. You're buying a sports car, not a family SUV. It's supposed to be raw, light, agile, and meant to give you a feel. Sure you may be faster, and more comfortable, especially if you have an automatic. But that's not the point in these cars, at least not for me.
I learnt to drive in a 911 at 14 without permission, lucky me. Anyhows, carried on driving that brand . At 54, just purchased a 718 and it is fabulous!
I also have driven/raced Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lamborghini and disagree with you on your opinion on the 718. Anyhows, I look forward to your next appraisal and drive safely.
Finally.......... the first truly honest review of the 718. I’ve been driving Porsches as my daily drivers for 40+ years and one of the important factors of any sports car is the sound.......not the noise, but the sound. Porsches have become quite expensive and we should be offered much better from the marque, not something worse for more money! And, of course, Porsche has jumped with both feet into the electric car market! Which, brings us back to the sound.........of lack of sound! I’ve loved Porsche since I was a kid, but now at 75, I think I’ll just stay with my 991.2 until I’m no longer able to drive. I’m dismayed to say the least and no longer the Porsche Fanboy I used to be..........I was really an advocate for the marque, but not anymore. Great review!
Maybe one of your best episodes yet! “Horrible shitbox....” killed me and you are RIGHT. That thing sounds like a UPS truck without the excitement of Amazon packages. The engine in my Chrysler minivan sounds better.
Wasn't thrilled with the sound of my 2001 Boxster and changed out the exhaust, so I can't imagine listening to that crap. You are so on the money. Sound and throttle response are critical.
For honesty, integrity and only a few quid.... the 986 is the only Boxster the 987 etc are cars for ladies that lunch or get taken to artisan bakery’s by your local friendly Porsche Centre. I’d rather be called a hairdresser than a real housewife of Cheshire... you know you felt like ponces driving about on display like that 😂😂 love the channel, keep up the good work 👍
Firstly: the unimportant part. The volume knob is only wrongly placed if you're living on your Island. In about 150 other countries the volume knob is on the correct side. That aside - pun intended: it is all personal taste and preference. Even the sound of the flat four: some like it, some don't. I think the 718 is a proper sports car in its own right, and it should not be compared to the 911. It is aimed at another target group. I myself I'm owning a 718 at the moment and I'm going to swap it for a 911 (992 Carrerra S Cabrio) in April. But I do not regret having driven the 718 Boxster for three years. Wonderful little car. As for the perceived heaviness: could it be you? I mean, the car is not that heavy, you yourself admitted that. Could it be you, being overweight? As an afterthought: it is totally beyond me how you can judge roadholding capabilities of a sports car by pottering along at 40-50 km/h. Visit a racing course if you want to speak about this subject, otherwise stick to interior quality and boot space (the sport‘s cars essentials).
Drive an Alpine A110 first and a Cayman will feel very very heavy. Even an Evora - which is a similar weight feels much lighter on its feet. It's partly the steering - Porsche seem to think heavyish steering is good. Specify Power Steering Plus and the Cayster feels significantly lighter and more agile at low speeds.
Absolutely right,it is our opinion and personal taste. It's amazing how many people on YT in the comments seem to forget that. We're not forcing anyone to do anything. And it's free to watch. No-one pottered at 40-50km.
@@TheCarGuysTV Well, your statement was "EVERYONE" HATES. That cannot be true - because I don't. And I only saw you pottering - you didn't show the bit where you drove at Silverstone. ;-). As you are entitled to your opinion, so I am to mine. You can easily delete my post if you don't like it.
Don't underestimate this car. As the happy owner of a 981 BGTS I have driven the 4CYL GTS on the track and that 4cyl does have a high performance sound it's just not as "operatic" and musical as the 3.4 6. Sound is a big part of the total experience for me but, as they pointed out, a used 718 4cly is a relative bargain and a future sleeper because they are so easily modified for more power. Just like the 944 Turbo's were a favorite modifiable car for track work in the past these will be in the future. Meanwhile I'll enjoy the opera.
I personally do not understand why people are so obsessed with a car's exhaust sound. I DO NOT care. I'd accept an EV's artificial sound if it would take gas or whatever I can feed on a long trip... and if offered with a manual transmission. :-) As long as that is possible, I will take any RR manual car with gratitude no matter what sound it generates.
Totally agree with your views on the engine. I have driven several 718's and hated all of them. I drive a 981 GTS (wonderful F6 engine) so that don't really help! 😉
It has that lag and I was very surprised that it did when I floored it. To make it worse I came from a Tesla and that has INSTANT torque with ZERO lag, and I mean ZERO. ( in between I had a Panamera, and that was great). I do love my Boxster 718 though. It's super fun to drive, takes corners like no other car I've ever owned, and looks killer. Oh, the cupholders suck, too... Great video guys, at least you were honest.
Another excellent inciteful, honest review, - guys they keep getting better. Now call me obtuse but dare I admit that I actually like the 718 Boxster, noise aside I found it a fair bit of fun and I'll take that noise for now seeing as the next boxster generation may have no engine noise at all, just the faint sound of magnito striction !
Fair enough, Roger. Sadly for me, as soon as I got the 718 I hated it. Whilst it was a decent runabout/daily - I just couldn't live with its faults for long. Add in cost and depreciation, and it didn't exactly cover itself with glory.
I think you guys have to put a little perspective in to it, you have a garage full of the best sounding cars on the planet where as most of the new purchasers of 718 models are probably coming from diesels or 4 pot hot hatches. To them, it will sound great and the rest of the car will blow them away.
Thanks guys. Well done. Agree 100 percent with your interpretation. Wake up porsche. You have destroyed the cayman and the boxster. Would rather have a miata. Sad right
Having driven the 1st gen S model, I have no doubt that this newer model will be much faster and will handle much better. Having driven the 1st gen S model, I have no doubt that this newer model sounds like shit... Thanks for the honest reviews
You guys are hilarious! Ive just got a 2019 Boxster low miles, my last fast car was a MG Maestro, to me the base Boxster is totally orgasmic, Im like James Bond and Sonny Crockett at the same time, the engine sounds wonderful to my ears im thrilled with it, so if Im the target market Porsche has scored a bullseye with this one.
People does not hate it. We all know by now it beats 911 in allmost any aspect…
You lost us at “even like the exhaust note”
@@TheCarGuysTV you lost us at " the worst sound in the automotive world."
@@Resist_Oppression 😂
The 718 is great but the sound is horrendous. Sounds like a Subaru and does not compared to a flat 6.
A Porsche sports car is suppose to be raw
The thing with the volume knob is simple, they designed it for left hand drive and didn't bother changing it for Brits :)
Shafted again
@Malcolm R Monaghan :-D
AntonzBravo Thanks 👍👍
I have one and I love this fantastic beauty I don’t care about what other’s thinking about it.
Vijay Hajari You care enough to watch and comment though 😂
That's the most important thing.
Me too.😊
Some people’s are talking about the sound of the engine what about electric cars every ones choice and opinions are different.
Hey Guys,
I own both a 718 Boxster S and a 992 C4S Cab so I'd like to share my point of view.
Awesome comments though, João. A very balanced and fair response. For me, the engine and the sound is 90% of the car.

@@TheCarGuysTV Check this out ... "Porsche 718 Boxster Road Review, YOU ALL LIED TO ME, all of you, you told me it sucked...."
Surely any car which can change a Rolex into a Patek mid-filming can't be all bad!!
wondered what happed to the Sub. LOL
They have forgotten that time is changing.
There are now more and more 4 cylinder sports cars with turbocharged coming over from 6 cylinder. Ie BMW etc.

They're complaining about the lag but the 981 2.7 and 3.4 had no torque anyway
Any modern performance SUV or hatchback would leave the 981 in the dust
But at least you'll sound nice going slow

Sounds like thats a must rather then an option if they sound flat without them, although l didn’t here anything in your video that was God awefull.
what aftermarket exhaust?
I never liked the boxster until they made the 981. Totally re-engineered and really a new car compared to the previous generations with a brilliant flat 6 NA engine. Personally for me, the 981s and 981GTS are the cars to have from the boxster range.
Boxster is a very nice car beginning with the 981
I love this car, fantastic balance and very fast car!
Unfortunately, it sounds like shit!
Same mate, zero complaints my end!
I have one and love it. So does everyone that has actually driven it

Real life comments
“why are you covering your ears?”- “it’s horrible!” and
“If that’s what a 4 cylinder turbo engine gives you, I don’t want one!”
I had to respect.

On left hand drive cars, volume knob is on the “right” side.
That’s not true
By saying “right” side, I meant left.
jabhip He means it’s on the correct side
Definitely a great handling car
Just for the record, you’ll note we acknowledge the history of Porsche with the flat 4 - if you bothered to watch that far
The only thing it lacks compared to the Carrera is the satisfying sound of the flat 6 when “giving it the beans” as you Brits say :)
vivamia Yep
USA
Most hated Porsche ever! Bold statement. 🤔

Thanks, Rich. I had no idea that advert was running - that's cool

One of the nicest designed cars. Absolutely awesome, the only thing i dislike is the size of it. This, a bit wider and longer would be a masterpiece.
I get what you are saying, Dan
@@TheCarGuysTV and fitted with a proper engine that is ! Forgot to mention...
Thank you for watching, your opinion is as valid as anyone else, and it is welcome here

I agree 100% with the harsh judgement on the ill-advised downsizing of the 718. however, due to its mid-engine set-up, the flat-six porsche boxster 981 (2012-2016) has by far the best handling of any porsche out there: "hairdresser`s choice", my *rse!

I can’t speak for a first time boxster buyer of a 718 boxster, but as an owner of a 6 cyl version i just can’t justify spending a fortune on a new version boxster with a 4 cyl ! It’s a big NO ! That’s my mindset on the situation. Just can’t do it.
If they did not tell you it was a 4 cylinder you wouldn't know it (at least not from a performance perspective).
Agree. I have a 981 S. I got it for a great deal with 20k miles and love it. I’m keeping it forever lol.

Thanks for your comments. I couldn't ignore the engine, sadly - it was a deal-breaker.
Definitely nowhere near as exciting as the 981, but the title of most hated Porsche should go to the Macan or Cayenne, at least this is an actual sports car and not just a badge engineered VAG platform!
Most owners seem to love the Cayenne and esp the Macan
Sounding like a Subaru - pop, pop,bang.
718 sound is shit!
I am afraid you're in a minority but I am glad you love it. With few lovers of the car it's not helping Porsches bottom line and damages viability of what is a great model. Ripping out the 6 cylinder heart was a bad move.
Happy you talked yourself into it sounding good since you own it...but it sounds like crap.
Thanks for watching, Antony
Still go back to this one for a laugh. Classic CarGuys. Looking forward to seeing you gents back together full time post covid

Have to have a manual to be a proper sports car!
Well said bud👍
I owned one too. And I disagree. Upload a detailed vid to your channel and I promise I'll watch it and comment.
Rick Kellstrom Do a better video and review and I’ll watch it.
@@TheCarGuysTV Can I borrow a camera? I spent all my money on this damn shit box.
because i have driven both and the old flat six had lots of lag under 5,000 rpm, where as this one comes on just under 3000rpm. the turbo 4 gives you a big push and is faster, flat 6 slower but more top end and has gradual delivery, but definitely slower
I don’t think I’ll be trading in my old 986 Boxster S for a 718 anytime soon (not that I can afford to!) The flat 6 3.2 is the heart and soul of my car and still sounds amazing 15 years on
Agree with you on that one
GTS is a lot more expensive though, and depreciation is just as scary.
Much better used - 1yr old @ 56k with 8,500 miles. Big part of initial depreciation hit gone.
Have to agree. I had the model before that and loved it. When it came time to consider the 718 I had it for a full 24 hours. Really glad to hand it back. The engine noise gave me a headache. 😀
Ulster Couldn’t agree more - glad to have your support 👍
Thank you for not saying “it’s not that bad” “it sounds allright”, the whole engine destroys the experience!
Yes, I was ashamed by the lack of actual criticism from fellow car reviewers. Drove me mad.
It’s not the engine it’s the exhaust, needs a 4cyl version rather then bolting on left overs from the six. Porsche failed there.
👍👍

I agree, I drove back to back at Sepang circuit, the 911 991.2 and 718 Cayman GTS, the 718 handles much better just lack of power compare to 911..
i own a cayman 718, and agree it sounds PANTS!! so i unplugged the sound actuator.. helped a bit... but i do love everything else about the car...
That's the sad thing about the 718 - everything else is brilliant
i got a fabspeed exhaust on my 718.. a lot of cars are sounding more muted bc of the exhaust laws ..
I have the 986S and it sounds like I have the royal philharmonic orchestra in my boot, been looking at upgrading but after seeing this review I think I’ll keep my lovely 6 cylinder model.
Good plan
I love, would buy it in 0.01 sec. if it was within my budget.
Do tell, Marc
Mea culpa, Gents. I bought a C7 Corvette. Yup. First American car since owning a '70 Mustang 390 big block. I rewatched this because I found myself looking at a 718 Cayman S. Thanks for slapping some sense back into me - again. As always, I thoroughly enjoy your videos.
So some 'sense' - from someone else's opinion - but what was yours on the 718? Did you actually try it?
I hate the engine too. But that turbo lag test at the end of vid is not just the lag but mostly the wrong gear (2nd) and wrong RPM at 15 miles an hour contributed more. You clearly should be in first at 15 mph !
Not in a turbo car with that torque
My 718 doesn't have the lag that you talk about. It is much quicker to take off than the 981 that I had previously. The engine is full of more torque than any of the previous models. AND THAT IS MY OPINION.
Good for you
The 718 is a substantial improvement on the model it replaces.
Got one, have you?
TheCarGuys.TV yes and I’ve had it for just over a year. It replaced a 987 and I have a 356C as well.
As a track car the 718 is great.
As a Porsche enthusiast the 981 is the cooler car.
The sexiest model ever constructed
I learnt to drive in a 911 at 14 without permission, lucky me. Anyhows, carried on driving that brand . At 54, just purchased a 718 and it is fabulous!
Good for you, awesome to hear 👍
Thanks for your comments.
Maybe one of your best episodes yet! “Horrible shitbox....” killed me and you are RIGHT. That thing sounds like a UPS truck without the excitement of Amazon packages. The engine in my Chrysler minivan sounds better.
Glad you enjoyed it, Glenn
because it's emotionless compared to the 981 flat6s.
Exactly. No soul
If it had a 6 cyl the hate would go away. I loooove this car. But yeah 911 ALL. THE. WAY. Great video guys.
Thanks, Alex
I’ve got the 981 gts and it sounds amazing but the 718s is so much faster....but I prefer the sound of mine. Good review
Tigerburningbright me too
Thanks
Wasn't thrilled with the sound of my 2001 Boxster and changed out the exhaust, so I can't imagine listening to that crap. You are so on the money. Sound and throttle response are critical.
I don,t hate the 718 I love it.
Used one at Porsche Driver Centre Silverstone and thought a knackered Subaru Impreza was following me round everywhere, very quick though.
😂😂
For honesty, integrity and only a few quid.... the 986 is the only Boxster the 987 etc are cars for ladies that lunch or get taken to artisan bakery’s by your local friendly Porsche Centre. I’d rather be called a hairdresser than a real housewife of Cheshire... you know you felt like ponces driving about on display like that 😂😂 love the channel, keep up the good work 👍
Thanks, Roadman
Thanks guys. Makes me want to go out and get one straight away. And no I'm not being sarcastic!
Do it
Thanks so much! I have a 987.2 Boxster S. I definitely will avoid the 718 Boxster!
The best thing about the four-cylinder Boxster’s is that it makes my 981 worth more
Yup, I'm loving the fact these are depreciating so our 981s don't have to ☺
The new Boxster GTS or Spyder are the only 2 Boxster’s I would consider, for that amount of money however I would get a 2016 911 GTS.
You can easily delete my post if you don't like it.
gletschertroll No, far better to let everyone see it
TheCarGuys.TV jolly good!
It's not hate, it's just that for for a few stacks more, one can have the penultimate sports car experience in the world with the GT3 911.
Or the real Boxster deal, 981, for less money.
TheCarGuys.TV fair comment ! I actually don’t think I’d put my own money into one
Sad right
Thanks, Thomas - glad you enjoyed it
Having driven the 1st gen S model, I have no doubt that this newer model will be much faster and will handle much better.
Having driven the 1st gen S model, I have no doubt that this newer model sounds like shit...
Thanks for the honest reviews
You're welcome
You guys are hilarious! Ive just got a 2019 Boxster low miles, my last fast car was a MG Maestro, to me the base Boxster is totally orgasmic, Im like James Bond and Sonny Crockett at the same time, the engine sounds wonderful to my ears im thrilled with it, so if Im the target market Porsche has scored a bullseye with this one.
Good.
Started with a rolex and changed to a patek halfway through 😂
Yeah, sorry - filmed at different times.
@@TheCarGuysTV Are you sure you don't just bring multiple watches to shoots?
#doublewristing
Boxster for those who want a 911. Aquanaut for those who want a Nautilus 😅
