Yeah, same thought! The Foot clan is often disregarded because the Shredder's beaten and stated 'dead', the 13 monsters aren't colored gray and they're basically animals, and Ethan Winter's whole operation was mistaken by the TMNT group to be a conquest initiation, until the generals made it to be the case. Fun Fact: Leo and Mikey's VAs in TMNT both voiced Ratchet in Ratchet and Clank. Mikey Kelley voiced Ratchet in the first game, and James Arnold Taylor voiced Ratchet in all other games and media since the second.
The original 1990 film is THE definitive version of the IP to me. It walked the line of dark and light, funny and serious, violent and playful. It was perfect.
I met the Screenwriter who wrote the first 2 movies. He's a nice guy. I helped him out for a PS5 at my store. I didn't know it was him until I went to the Rangerstop Orlando convention and he was there and he bumped into me. He remembered my face. He gave me an Autographed copy of the final script of the first movie. Todd W. Langen is his name
I remember my parents lied to me about what we were seeing that Saturday and sitting there thinking what is this the in the sewers with raph after he lost his Si and thinking holy shit!! It was awesome
In regards to TMNT III's subtitle, it actually wasn't called Turtles in Time, at least not during its theatrical nor VHS releases. A lot of people sorta mistakenly referred to it by that subtitle due to the popularity of the video-game, and I guess it became so common that eventually the DVD release started using it, too.
@@truesoulghost2777 that still wasnt the name of the movie lmao, if you look at old box art, the wiki page, and all trailers and promotional media, its just TMNT III, albeit there is a tagline on one of the old boxes that says " The Turtles are back ... in time!"
I unintentionally saw it performed live like a month ago. I went to a convention in Denver and Vanilla Ice was there performing it on stage with a bunch of furries and a few guys in TMNT costumes. He walked RIGHT by me on the way out of the convention surrounded by security and I said "hi" and he didn't even look at me because he seemed in a hurry to gtfo. Weird but fun experience.
@@GodzillaMendoza “Vanilla Ice, a bunch of furries, and some dudes in TMNT costumes” sounds like the recipe for the absolute GREATEST party of all time
I rewatched TMNT 1990 a year or two ago. I pay a lot more attention to detail and expressions than I used to. I was worrying that they may not look as realistic as in my memories. Holy shit, I was blown away. They felt alive, their movements, their facial expressions. Acting felt more genuine than in most movies and these are just puppets. This movie is timeless, it doesn't feel old or dated at all.
22:37 The movie isn't called "Turtles in Time", it's only "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III". It's been given the "turtles in time" title over the years by fans, because of the similarities between the videogame and movie. And Nickelodeon started using it in marketing for streaming services and on DVD box art. Also the 2nd movie didn't make alot of money like the 1st did. That's why the 3rd movie took longer to come out and was a last chance gamble on the dying popularity of the franchise.
Ninja Turtles II does have my fav hideout. The way the movie presents the abandoned subway will always be in my heart. In defense of the ooze reveal, there is a positive message in it. Donnie was so let-down that the mutagen was nothing special and he's breaking into an existential crisis since he always hoped he and his family were destined for something grand. But Splinter tells him that who you are is what's most important, not how you were brought here.
Personally I like TMNT 2. I know folks think Turtles 2 started the downfall, I still love it! TMNT 3 really marked its downfall as the costumes of the turtles felt off. Secret of the Ooze just had some great comedy with the characters and fleshed them out as bothers. It's fun! Also I still think the practical effects are FANTASTIC! The costumes/animatronics surpassed the 1st film by the same Jim Henson crew! Just fabulous!!!
Same. I only 4 problems though; the turtles not being allowed to punch and use their weapons thanks to soccer moms at the time,Shredder doing next to nothing, the tone change, and the twist ending about the professor being changed at the minute. But other than that, it was pretty good and nicely well shot compared to the 1st one.
I actually love TMNT 2 more than I do the original movie. It was suppose to be more like the cartoon than the comics, but no one can deny that the Ninja Rap, Super Shredder, and Tokar & Razar are more ingrained the mainstream pop culture than Karai and the Ultrom are.
I remember the tie in game for TMNT 2007 being pretty good too. I haven't played it in years but I like to think that my childhood memories of it are still accurate.
The change from T.C.R.I. to T.G.R.I. happened because they altered the lore behind the Ooze, so, instead of "Techno Cosmic Research Institute" is now called "Techno Global Research Institute". Professor Perry, also, was changed; originally, he was an Ultrom in disguise, with a reveal towards the end, in front of a mirror, but the scene was cut and the character just disappears after the Battle in the nightclub.
My theory about the 90's TMNT trilogy is that through the 3 movies the turtles health and mental health declines due to side effects of the ooze, it explains why they look the way they do by the third film with the spots and "dopey" demeanor. If you watch the movies with that in mind it's actually pretty sad and tragic
Interesting, but I never seen it that way. Just seen it for what it was, another differently made movie. Though they both fell off the Gold Standard the First (O.G. Tmnt 1990) made and set up, they weren't that bad. Example is the 3rd movie, which even had Mikey and Raph grow as characters, and set some pretty serious stuff involving the Turtles and Yoshi that was pretty cool. 3 examples are: A) is Mikey actually risking his life to actually be a hero, saving that kid's life from a wildly burning building, and almost not surviving the experience. B) is Raph's coming to terms with, and learning about, his own anger issues through seeing the anger in Yoshi, and he advising that kid about his own rebelling anger and impatience. So Raph really bonded with that human boy actually seeing his younger self in Yoshi, though he'd always been distant cold antisocial and a loner.. and that's something! C) which is Leo's performing CPR on a supposedly dead little boy, after Mike had risked his own life to save him, then everyone rejoicing that Yoshi actually made it through, and, the total love and respect that the humans gave the so-called "kappa" Turtles afterwards! So that movie wasn't a total waste. And it's the first to have a Turtle crushing on a human.. (yuck).. Mike with Mitsu, and learning for the first time real depression heartbreak and unrequited love. Also the side story about acceptance love respect and friendship that they felt in feudal Japan compared to the isolation unacceptance fear disrespect and hate they've always had back home in NYC.. and for the love they had for April Splinter and Casey.. and the courage they had to be willing to face that cold hard lonely life once again.. they came back to be a unit, a team, a family! So this 3rd movie isn't a total loss nor failure!
I rewatched these movies awhile ago and it was really fun. TMNT 1990 is so good. It has such a good balance of comedy and seriousness that it works overall. The costumes were terrific too. I remember liking TMNT II more when I was little, but it is really jarring to see it after the first movie, to the point where it doesn't even feel like they're set in the same universe. It's still a pretty fun movie despite being a step backwards from the first movie. I actually kind of like TMNT III. While it's a weaker movie compared to the first two, it felt a lot more consistent with the tone of TMNT II. That probably isn't a good thing, but it felt like a more natural follow up tone wise coming from that movie as opposed to the first movie. It isn't surprising that TMNT III gained such an infamous reputation amount fans and I wouldn't go as far as saying it's underrated, but it was still fun. The dialogue could get so ridiculously stupid that I laughed, I liked seeing Casey again even though he didn't do anything and it had some fun moments. I have a hard time believing that TMNT 2007 is set in this same continuity. I know that there are nods to the previous movies, but it feels more like Easter Eggs to me. The tone would also feel a bit out of place, but this movie series never had a consistent tone to begin with. It was a pretty fun movie with some terrific CGI animation. The Leo vs. Ralph scene definitely gets a lot of attention and not having the turtles voice by celebrities does make the voice cast stand out too. It's a shame that they didn't get to do a continuation since that could have been interesting, but this was a pretty decent movie too.
@@jadenbryant9283 yeah in the SF2 anime from the 90s he was fei long and the main dude in Macross Plus also a few random monster voices in mmpr like pre seinfeld and malcolm in the middle he was just a guy who showed up on trash shows as a extra
Never understood the stigma against Mikey’s chucks in the 90s. His weapons are no different than Donnie’s. They are sticks on string. Also if you look at the canister in TMNT it say TCRI so that means they probably went through more accurate comic versions of those movies.
In Mirage the C in TCRI was for Cosmic. Since there’s nothing cosmic about TCRI in 2 they changed it to Global. There’s a reason, it’s just a reason that’s related to the bigger issue of the movie.
The same studio that did TMNT 2007 also did the 2008 Astroboy movie. I think they were also supposed to do a Legend of Zelda movie and a film adaptation on T28 Gigantor and Gatchaman.
I had a theory for the TMNT animated movie: the Foot clan member that was always with Karai in the movie was going to be Shredder. Like a new one, or one that was revived from death.
Apparently the reason the Second Movie has all these copies of 1987 show characters that aren't really them is because at the time those characters were partially owned by the animation studio that made the cartoon so the film producers would have had to pay extra for using them.
Now I need a full length comic style animated video to show us what secret of the ooze could of been! Watching 10 seconds of Casey Jones in place of keno made me happy.
If the turles ever got a reboot in the films, I really hope it takes some inspiration from the IDW comics, which does great job taking elements from previous versions (cartoons, movies and original comics) while still having some very unique stories like Donnatello having his mind being transfered to Metalhead or the Turtles taking over the Foot Clan (resulting in many dark moments and character dealing with complex dillemas.
Eastman and Laird don't hate Bebop and Rocksteady from what I've seen/heard. They've been brought in at other points *with* the two or one of them attached. As I understand it, The Ninja Turtles movies didn't have the rights to most of the cartoon elements, so they couldn't use that version of Stockman, or Bebop and Rocksteady.
Someone should troll them by bringing back Venus from The Next Mutation. Neither of them controls the rights, so what are they gonna do except bitch on social media?
I heard that Baxter Stockman was going to be the villain of the second film, I think I would have gone a bit further. I would have kept Tokka and Rahzar but also included Bebop and Rocksteady so all 4 of them could serve as a dark reflection of the turtles. Rahzar would be an authoritarian leader who abuses his power as well as weilding a sword Rocksteady would be a aggressive guy who easily gets angry, letting it out on his teammates, he would use daggers Bebop would be a annoying, rude and sadistic wisecracker who enjoys combat, he would use a whip Tokka would be a arrogant douche who would brag about his intelligence and shove it into everyone's face, he would use a hammer I would have the climax involve Baxter getting mutated into a Fly and Splinter comes in to battle him. I've even had thoughts that following this I would of had the third film be about a Utrom called Krang breaking Baxter and his mutant teams out of prison to help him in his goals
23:04 when I was younger the turtles looked so dead in the eyes I really found them unsettling. I genuinely had a fear for the ninja turtles until I got older and found out about other cartoons and movies
12:33 this WAS actually in the movie, but was cut last minute. Really stupid how much they've cut from the original 3 movies, especially because some of what the cut genuinely effects the plot for thr worse
The cartoon version was just a weird Clint Eastwood parody. I was always under the impression the TMNT cg movie was heavily using the 03 show. Like it felt it assumed you watched that which would explain the blatant kurai and foot ninjas
DUde, I think the RISE of the TMNT movie is the best!! That one brought me into the fandom! I like the 1984 movie and the 2007 one a lot, but Rise is still my favorite :D
On TMNT 2007, I think having Karai or even the Stone Warriors subplot could easily serve as a thematic parallel to the pain felt by Leo's absence, but they were too underdeveloped. Maybe if the movie had more time but idk
Listening to this review, it really does reinforce my personal reading that most people when talking about how good TMNT (2007) is, they’re usually referring to the fight scene between Raph and Leo. Not that it’s entirely a bad thing, the scene is good, but everything surrounding the Turtles that actually pertains to the plot and villains doesn’t connect with any sense of grace or sometimes at all. A theme is present. Families separated coming back together but resentment and time tears them apart only for one family to come together stronger while the other divides. It’s there, but there’s nothing much outside of that to connect the two besides an obligatory final battle. The Turtles don’t even care about the warriors until Leo is captured, and that’s near the end of the film. 60-70% of this movie is boring while the the other 40-30% is actually compelling by dragged down by incomplete ideas. Also, just as a quick aside, I hate in the beginning where the Turtles are introduced. They have their names spoken either immediately before or immediately after they get a flashy subtitle spelling their name out for the audience…even though the movie just said the name out loud already or were about to so that’s kind of pointless and irritating.
I'd say Michaelangelo is pretty obviously "the light lighthearted one" in the Mirage comics; like there's the issue where he gets his pet stray cat and messes around with toys in a store, then saves a truck of toys for orphans. Then another issue starts out as what seems to be a gritty period piece & turns out to just be Mikey reading out his Lone Wolf and Cub-inspired story to his cat. Leonardo is more thoughtful and philosophical one like in the arc where Casey accidentally kills a guy and has a breakdown, Raphael is basically himself, Leonardo is the kinda all-around leader who's cooler in the comic (like the Christmas issue where he tries his best to fight the Foot ninjas on his own so his brothers can have a good Christmas)... but hmm maybe the cartoon running at the same time affected some of this too so you got a point.
One of the things that's most immediately telling is that in the thumbnail, you used photos of the actual turtle suits/CGI, but for the first movie, you used a photo of an action figure based on the 1990 suits...and even though it's literally a TOY, it still looks better than any of the others. That's how great those suits were.
We tried our best to find a legitimate picture of 1990 Donnie that would match the rest but the movie is so dark and so grainy that options were limited and Jacob settled for the figure since it seemed recognizabe enough. Good catch!
Secret of the ooze suffers from 2 things, 1st was parents. They literally made waves and lawsuits and the solution was to basically let the turtles never use the weapons. It was literally to shut up parents calling it way too violent and scary. Next is studio cheapness. Don't forget that the original is one of the highest grossing independent movies of all time. And they wanted to make it quick and not licence anything from the cartoon. Which is why all the missing aspects occur. And the terrible ending. Cheap and fast. Exactly what the studio wanted.
As a kid, I kind of always remembered the animated movie as "the dark one" that went harder than the rest, and now I low-key believe it turned a lot of boys into men.
I loved how the first movie used the elements it incorporated from the cartoon. It utilized them so intelligently, like using April's reporter job to move the plot along, pulling together all the disparate elements from various early TMNT comics.
TMNT 2007 is a peak film.. and that soundtrack made up my music choices today.. also to this day it’s the only TMNT tv/film project that showcases the turtles as adults.. if the time jump counts
In defense of 2007's plot outside the family stuff; I just watched this movie today and saw things a little differently than you, I think. First, I don't think Winters is meant to be the villain at all, really. He's basically a reverse twist villain, you think he's gearing up to do something evil because his plans are left vague for a lot of the film, but then at the climax it's revealed he was never the bad guy. His generals are the true antagonists. Second, while it's not executed very well, there are some parallels between the villains and the turtles that had the potential to be interesting. Winters repeatedly refers to his generals as his family, his brothers and sister, and I think the way they turn on him was supposed tp parallel Leo and Raph's family conflict, what they could have been if they weren't both good people who genuinely love each other at heart. That was my take, anyways. Great video!
I remember pirating the 1990 movie a year ago, was fine. Unrelated but I imagine that had Nick not bought the turtles, I imagine that WB would’ve bought the Turtles instead since New Line Cinema (Which WB would end up owning) distributed the original live action trilogy and WB distributed the 2007 film. Heck before the 2003 series, WB Animation pitched a pilot for a new turtles show that didn’t go anywhere.
I wish there was a extended cut of the 1990 film where certain deleted scenes are included. EDIT: TMNT III at least had action scenes that used their weapons.
The 2003 series is my favorite interpretation of the Ninja Turtles. They could be serious when they needed to be. And the TMNT animated movie is great too.
Even though secret of the ooze will always have a special place in my heart, the reason why it was toned down from the first movie was because of parents complaining about the violence, swearing ect. They even said it was sexist, there was a entertainment weekly article (can find it online) where a parent took her kid who was a fan and was all types of upset and recommended that they didn't take their kids to see it
I hope that one day we get a TMNT movie with a New York reminiscent of the new Batman movie with a story that’s dark (more dark than usual) and compelling. A movie that doesn’t follow the typical Ninja Turtles movie formula and does something new and creative with the characters and plot. Basically a TMNT film on the same level of The Batman if not even better. If only I was a film director… 😅
I've got plans, bro. I've been planning my version of my live action TMNT trilogy that loosely adapts the original 80s comics while retaining the stuff from the more iconic versions of Turtles since. I'd maybe bring in a less anime-esque interpretation of the mystic powers from Rise. No glowing stuff, just Leo Teleporting, Mikey making Naruto-esque shadow clones, etc (I might cut this, but it provides some cool cinematography for Shredder). I made designs, made a hypothetical cast, and I have a plot outline for all three movies with the main character firmly being Leo (of whom I gave an arc of trust and not to let emotions drive him). It's literally my dream project
Turtles isn’t really as dark as most people think. The first issue is dark but it gets silly afterwards. Turtles works better when silly, though I will say they need to use a new villain. Give Shredder a break.
@@Vegitodraws, ngl I’ve been doing the same. It could be dark with really stylistic visuals and with The Batman’s level of violence, but still have a good amount of humour to lighten things up. The first movie could have Baxter Stockman as the villain and the second could have Shredder. But not the traditional, old-fashioned Shredder. This time, it would be a younger Shredder that isn’t super intimidating at first but makes the audience and everyone in the film fear him with his actions and in the way the character is portrayed. He could be either the son or the brother of Oroku Saki who (similar to the OG comics) sets out for revenge on Splinter and then the turtles after his father’s death. Man, this movie would just be so thrilling, I really hope to see a film like this one day.
just found out that established titles company is a scam. just an fyi. its against scotish law to sell land like that and the company is not actually able to give any one land. its completely fake.
So, I didn’t know about Eastman and Laird not liking Bebop and Rocksteady, but another reason they didn’t bring them on was because of rights to characters issues. Probably the same with that cartoon Stockman. Also, the no weapons and less violence is because of dimwit parents saying the first movie was too dark and violent. Also, also, the reason it’s TGRI rather than TCRI is because the C is supposed to stand for “Cosmic,” and if they followed the comics more then the turtles would have gone to space and back. They chose to cut that part out because moneys, and instead kept them on Earth. They changed the C to a G since there wasn’t going to be anything Cosmic about the movie. (I can’t remember what the G stood for. I think it was like Ground or something.)
@@TheEmperorRaidou What did you think of Donatello in the first 1990 movie and his adaptation in the IDW comics ? Also there was going to be a third movie to the 2007 movie where it was going to focus on Donatello.
The original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie absolutely slaps. It's quickly approaching 35 years-old, and the suits, stunts, action and comedy are still top-notch. They took a design as goofy as 80's Shredder; and made his comically large helmet and red sequinned suit look intimidating.
That has to be odd for Laird & Eastman at the time during the 80s show we hate what this franchise has become known for but have a lot of money due to these changes, oh well time to deposit another very large check. If the Turtle franchise wants it could adapt Last Ronin as a way to finish the movie quartet just age up the Turtles while keeping the dark more mature tones and themes. For the design keep it similar to the first movie just grittier and battle weary.
It’s crazy how TMNT 2007 has really grown a big, more loyal fandom over the years. It was by no means a bomb with fans but I feel like people mostly saw it as generic and bland and biased towards Leo back in the day. This was my first Turtles movie I saw in theater and I love it despite its flaws, it’s nice to see some appreciation for it. Secret of the Ooze is basically the series finale of the original live action films for me, even as a kid I recognized it was lesser and going downhill, and that III was crap.
It didn't get a theatrical release but the last Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie we got was the rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie was an incredible movie so there's still hope for the TMNT movie's yet...Even though I'm a huge fan of the franchise even I can admit that the last 2 live action 90's Turtle's movie's aren't perfect as well as the 2014 one but the rest of them are pretty good
I remember seeing the first one in the theaters as a kid and it blew my freaking mind. Changed my whole world. The next year, went and saw this, and when Mikey (my favorite) used sausage links instead of nunchucks, I knew right then and there it was going to suck bad.
The ninja turtles went through the reverse effect of dc and marvel. Dc and marvel had silly silver age comics that were translated to the big screen as dark gritty realistic reboots, while the turtles started out as a dark gritty comic, that got adapted into goofy fun kids shows and movies.
Part 3 would have been better if You kept the time travel plot but you made the main villain an ancestor of Oroku Saki. You kept the Turtles appearances only during the dark. You had a better company make the animatronic suits. You brought back Judith Hoag Part of the plot would have been The turtles battling Saki's ancestor (while trying to get the scepter to get home) and the other on April O'Neil and Casey's relationship ups and downs since part 1. Maybe have them travel back in time as well and while they are exploring how to mend their relationship, April is kidnapped by Saki's ancestor by his clan (not yet the Foot).
Turtles 1 is dark and timeless classic. Turtles 2 was fun, colorful and and 90s AF. Turtles 3 costumes look like they were made by the same people who made costumes for Barney the Dinosaur show.
I heard the doctor in TMNT: Secret Of The Ooze was going to be an Utrom in disguise but they didn't want to have the audience to get him confused with Krang, I would've liked to have seen this, if only to see what the puppet would look like, probably something like the alien from Invaders From Mars
I mean the rise of the tmnt movie was pretty good that came out about a year ago, it had decent development that they couldn't nessecarily fit into the show and the animation was god tier story and characters weren't half bad either, i'd strongly reccomend it
@@NeoConnor1 rise started off a little weak, but continuously just got better and better the ending was awesome and then the movie was the icing on the cake. I hope they renew the show after how damn good the movie was.
I feel as though TMNT 1990 had placed such high standards that the movies to come after were trying to mimic its success without what made the movie so great in the first place. If they were to create a legacy sequel as suggested in the video, I’d want a storyline like this that is kinda reminiscent of the City at War story arc: After shredder had fallen at the hands of splinter and the turtles, Tatsu begins secretly busting the arrested delinquents out of jail. In hopes of rebuilding the foot, he recruits an assistant to help him with his plans. That recruit is Karai. Eventually, the turtles catch wind of what Tatsu may be planning since April had began an investigation with the police surrounding the missing prisoners. Splinter sees that the foot is being reborn, so he orders the turtles to secretly track down the source of the crimes. After a series of events that led to new clues and some encounters with the foot, the turtles begin their final confrontation. A massive battle ensues in which the turtles have to face a stronger, much more lethal foot clan. Splinter, April, and Casey join, who team up against Tatsu. It as a close fight between them though, as Tatsu had trained harder after being defeated previously. Finally, the turtles confront Karai, who is even more deadly that Tatsu. They fight hard, but emerge victorious. April contacts the press and the foot are captured once again, this time in a maximum security prison with alert guards. The turtles realize that they had taken down the foot multiple times, but have remained anonymous to the public. They decide that to keep the city safe from evil and to gain the trust of the public to protect them, they reveal themselves. However, the public has become more open to change after the surge in crime led by the foot. The public, although slightly skeptical, trust the turtles. The foot remained entirely behind bars and the turtles can now keep the city safe without limitations. It was a rough idea, but I feel as if it would fit into the story TMNT 1990 had created.
I was thinking... maybe the next TMNT film should take cues from the Guardians of the Galaxy films. Full of action and adventure, but never onve missing the fact that, at the end of the day, is a story about family.

Even when it came out back then it was being called Turtles in Time. Barely anyone said, 3.
@@truesoulghost2777 that still wasnt the name of the movie lmao, if you look at old box art, the wiki page, and all trailers and promotional media, its just TMNT III, albeit there is a tagline on one of the old boxes that says " The Turtles are back ... in time!"
Regardless of what your opinions are on TMNT 2, you can’t deny that the “Go Ninja Go” still goes hard to this day
I unintentionally saw it performed live like a month ago. I went to a convention in Denver and Vanilla Ice was there performing it on stage with a bunch of furries and a few guys in TMNT costumes.

The movie isn't called "Turtles in Time", it's only "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III".
TOTAL existential crisis! I felt so bad for him as a kid. I wish they had the Utrom/ Krang reveal though and it was really TCRI!
It’s my favorite guilty pleasure movie, it’s impossible not to smile during the Ninja Rap scene!

Regardless of the flaws I really wish we got that sequel to the animated movie.
I remember the tie in game for TMNT 2007 being pretty good too. I haven't played it in years but I like to think that my childhood memories of it are still accurate.
The Game Boy Advance version is one of the best Turtles games ever
That’s be an interesting gimmick for a Last Ronin adaptation, he’s gotta get his revenge before his body fails him, and gets hooked on mutigen

Imagine if we got more sequels with the costumes from the 1st movie. What a collection that wouldve been.
Apparently the reason the Second Movie has all these copies of 1987 show characters that aren't really them is because at the time those characters were partially owned by the animation studio that made the cartoon so the film producers would have had to pay extra for using them.

I heard that Baxter Stockman was going to be the villain of the second film, I think I would have gone a bit further.
I would have kept Tokka and Rahzar but also included Bebop and Rocksteady so all 4 of them could serve as a dark reflection of the turtles.
Rahzar would be an authoritarian leader who abuses his power as well as weilding a sword
Rocksteady would be a aggressive guy who easily gets angry, letting it out on his teammates, he would use daggers
Bebop would be a annoying, rude and sadistic wisecracker who enjoys combat, he would use a whip
Tokka would be a arrogant douche who would brag about his intelligence and shove it into everyone's face, he would use a hammer
I would have the climax involve Baxter getting mutated into a Fly and Splinter comes in to battle him.
I've even had thoughts that following this I would of had the third film be about a Utrom called Krang breaking Baxter and his mutant teams out of prison to help him in his goals

Good catch!
The opening sponsorship of the video is pretty unfortunate, timing-wise, since we don't like Established Titles as a sponsor anymore.
Secret of the ooze suffers from 2 things,
1st was parents.
In hindsight Karai kinda feels like an extended cameo
2007 is low key amazing in every way but the villains.
The whole idea of the foot clan being teenagers and paralleling the turtles would be a great idea for mutant mayhem 2!

Elias Koteas couldn't return for the sequel because he was filming "Look Who's Talking Too".
Casey was laying low in Secret of the Ooze because he was wanted for attempted murder after crushing Shredder in the garbage truck 😅

What about the new rise tmnt movie? I'm curious about your review on that
The ninja turtles went through the reverse effect of dc and marvel. Dc and marvel had silly silver age comics that were translated to the big screen as dark gritty realistic reboots, while the turtles started out as a dark gritty comic, that got adapted into goofy fun kids shows and movies.
I'd argue that the original TMNT comic was more like Shrek in terms of parody
Part 3 would have been better if
You kept the time travel plot but you made the main villain an ancestor of Oroku Saki.
You kept the Turtles appearances only during the dark.
You had a better company make the animatronic suits.
You brought back Judith Hoag
Part of the plot would have been The turtles battling Saki's ancestor (while trying to get the scepter to get home) and the other on April O'Neil and Casey's relationship ups and downs since part 1. Maybe have them travel back in time as well and while they are exploring how to mend their relationship, April is kidnapped by Saki's ancestor by his clan (not yet the Foot).

I mean the rise of the tmnt movie was pretty good that came out about a year ago, it had decent development that they couldn't nessecarily fit into the show and the animation was god tier story and characters weren't half bad either, i'd strongly reccomend it
That rise of TMNT movie was amazing though
As someone who only watched a bit of rise, the movie was a huge surprise.
@@NeoConnor1 rise started off a little weak, but continuously just got better and better the ending was awesome and then the movie was the icing on the cake. I hope they renew the show after how damn good the movie was.
i hope they dont.
@@TheEmperorRaidou why
I feel as though TMNT 1990 had placed such high standards that the movies to come after were trying to mimic its success without what made the movie so great in the first place. If they were to create a legacy sequel as suggested in the video, I’d want a storyline like this that is kinda reminiscent of the City at War story arc:
After shredder had fallen at the hands of splinter and the turtles, Tatsu begins secretly busting the arrested delinquents out of jail.
Really want Godzilla to cover the newer cgi tmnt films. They were certainly films
Yes, I am the one who liked TMNT3 when I was like 6.
I was that one kid going "Wow, I don't remember a thing from his movie, but seeing them in Samurai armor would make for awesome action figures."
@@motherplayer They did! I had two samurai Leos.
I don’t know about you lot, but personally, the sentence “Jim Henson makes Utroms.” certainly would have convinced me instantaneously.
I was thinking... maybe the next TMNT film should take cues from the Guardians of the Galaxy films. Full of action and adventure, but never onve missing the fact that, at the end of the day, is a story about family.
