  • A suspense thriller set in the world of small town church politics, Dangerous Calling follows the story of Pastor Evan Burke and his wife Nora as they assume leadership of First Baptist Willit Springs after the mysterious death of the previous pastor. Eager to get to know the new pastor, Miss Pat, the church's controlling widow-woman, invites Evan and Nora to stay with her while she has the parsonage renovated. Left alone at Miss Pat's beautiful home in the mountains of North Georgia, Nora begins to suspect that Miss Pat's extremely sheltered adult son, Elijah, may have had something to do with the previous pastor's death. Although the story involves Christian characters, Dangerous Calling is not your typical church film. Owing more to Psycho and Misery than Left Behind, Dangerous Calling is sure to keep you on the edge of the pew. In this church the politics can be deadly.

If my spouse or other family member tells me they're afraid someone may be trying to kill them. Unless they are crazy, a big lier, or high of a powerful drug I’m not going to take that statement lightly. I'm especially going to trust their judgment over weird people I just met.🧐This is a good movie with a decent end I'm glad Nora and her husband survived the crazy murderous fanatic Ms. Pat and her son. It's too bad he caught in the end but redeemed himself by saving Nora. It's cool how Pastor Evan revived the ministry and honored Scott’s vision for the youth and community.👍🏾🙂

There are people in the church who will do anything to cover up the evil & lifestyle in their family...and subsequently blame, encourage & cover for their children, while condemning everyone else.

This reminds me of my family. My Uncle was a predator and who knows how.many girls he molested in our family. I was one of the children he touched. My family especially some of his siblings still say he didn't do it. Some of my cousins still say it's their favorite Uncle. They cover up and protect the monster but won't protect the victims. Some Families are so backwards and will cover of anything no matter what it is. I was treated so bad when it hit the fan being 15 at the time. I had little support and it was hush hush and a family secret. Only by the grace of God that I was so strong to overcome without any mental issues.

Miss Pat is so self-righteous she sets my teeth on edge. I have to keep pausing the video (so I don't obscure the dialogue yelling at her -- I come by it honestly, Mama yelled at the TV sometimes too, lol) when she gets especially manipulative or hypocritical. I'll get through it, and hope the character gets her comeuppance by the end.
EDIT: Oh, Lord. The moment that Nora asks, "Do you have to go to the Men's Retreat tomorrow" and her husband goes "she IS paying for it", I'd be like, packing an overnight bag and going to stay with another family. Or maybe the bookstore lady. Get a motel room. Anything other than staying in that house another day.

She just cried there at the corner coz in real life... you're in danger so do something to ask help or stop the attacker. Imagine, Mrs. Pat is old while Nora is, I think strong enough to fight back & yet she was tied with her on the boat!!!

After listening to Davi on the morning show, I was expecting this movie to be super bad. I actually decided to watch it just for a good laugh. However, this is actually a good plot, with a decent ending, and even somewhat decent acting. It is obviously not in the same category as an oscar worthy picture, but it is watchable, and entertaining. It is also worth mentioning that some of the covers of the gospel songs are actually really good. So, Davi, don't be so hard on yourself, or your fellow cast. You did a really good job with what I'm sure wasn't a big budget. Good story telling! I would give it at least one and half thumbs up!

Most of them were real down to earth good folks who had their stuff together, however the ones that latched on to me were broken as F!. I got out and the church wouldn't help me and my kids after that. They said you have to be a member. So according to them God turns his back on those less favorable. That was the big lesson I walked away with.

Awww I feel your pain. Sometimes the ones who should point love to us actually pount us away from it but this was never the way God wanted it. And that's why religion was never God's idea. Relationship was and still is God's idea . Meaning beyond going to church, God wants us to have a personal relationship with Him bcs things can get really messy with so called church pple Sometimes bcs of our human nature, but with God its different. I encourage you to not turn your back on God. He remains faithful and He loves you @Happy Go Lucky

No "adverts" at all. I have studied Christian films for about 50 years. The best was "The Hiding Place," a Billy Graham movie. This one? I thought the pastor and wife were very good representatives of their calling. Nora was quite appealing. Miss Pat was overdrawn somewhat but not terribly so. Thanks for the upload, RUclips.

😭😭😭😭😭😭can't imagine i cried the last part. I wish Elisha had been given a second chance to make things right since he was being manipulated to by his mother since his childhood. But many things happen in our churches that leaves you questioning "what is christianity". Like you'll tell your kids not to talk to so and so because they are poor, different tribe, different colour some will tell their kids to fight back when another kid beats them up and we call ourselves christians and the kids will grow up with what you put in them. May Almighty God have mercy on us.

Religion today is the biggest enemy of God. The Gospel of the grace of God is a free gift. Eternal unmerrited favor with God. Faith alone, in the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. You can't buy grace, you can't earn, or work for grace, by trying to keep or follow a performance system. Love without Christ is temporal, conditional. God's Love is perpetually, eternal. Forevermore.

@@anonymousjohnson976 If someone came over to your house and murderd your wife, what way would you want the courts to judge, unconditionally or conditionally? Should the person who's guilty of murdering your wife get life in prison or be put too death? God's grace is unconditional, it's 100% free, by faith alone in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. You can't earn grace, you can't buy grace, you don't get grace by trying to be "good" or trying to stop being "bad" Grace is unmerrited, eternal favor with God. God gave man a freewill, unfortunately mankind chose sin. If you read Genesis ch.(3) kjv it clearly shows mankind's fall. Man is exiled out of Eden. Man realized if he went back into Eden and hate from the "Tree of life" he would been able to sin eternally and never die. The wages of sin is death, that's why we die physically. All our dead in Adam. In Genesis chapter (3) God makes it clear, He would redeem His creation through the "seed" of the woman. Christ would take the penalty of our sin, unconditionally, on Himself. By His death, burial, and resurrection were made eternally righteous. God remembers your sin no more. The scripture says II Corinthians 5:21(kjv For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

@@stephensdygert7600 : I disagree. Your god's love is conditional as he is saying believe or burn forever. How is that a choice? Don't you think god gives us a choice to believe or not believe? If so, then why should we be tortured forever for choosing not to believe, as we are making the choice that god gave us or freewill. You really sound indoctrinated and brainwashed. It is also not "freewill" to punish someone forever for finite wrongdoings. Emotions and feelings are not a good path in determining the truth.
We all evolved from a common ancestor of the ape family. Evolution is a well-documented explanation of some aspect of the natural world that is acquired through the scientific method and repeatedly tested and confirmed, preferably using a written pre-defined protocol of observation and experimentation. The mapping of the human genome together with that of chimpanzees reveals irrefutable proof that humans and chimpanzees share common ancestors. Therefore, the fairy tale of Adam & Eve and Noah's ark cannot be true. The bible is the most purchased book, but not the most read as it sits in drawers collecting dust. Gullibility is countered by education and appeals to actual good demonstrable evidence. I think many people are bothered by the passages of scripture they do not understand, but the ones that bother me are the ones I do understand. Good-night, Stephens. Keep it real!

That old woman and her son were nuts; she killed a teenage girl because she didn't want her son to find love so she drowned her and Elijah just sat there and did do anything to help. As far as I'm concerned he should've stood up to her and stopped her, and let alone turned her in so all of this could be avoided, but no...coward and an accomplice to murder. I'm glad the new pastor punched her lights out.

Same thing at the end with the chicken house. She just sat there wimpering while Mother was consoling her dying son, and then dumb ass just sits there cowering.
