This movie is such a trip.. and I believe the true depth of Daryl Hannah has still never been featured yet.. Some Director, Writer, and Collaborator is really missing out on that.
I wasn't sure what to expect and I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. A great story that grabs you right away, keeps you guessing and then finishes in a very satisfying manner acted by two performers who captivate with their performances. Thank you for such a great movie for Sunday night.

I have not seen one movie of Daryl I did not like. Reading about her is always a pleasure, how can someone born with issues overcomes and then live the life many of us do not have courage to live. Much better than I thought it was going to be. Tom Conti is a great actor, who helped Daryl Hannah lift her game. And, of course, Miriam Margolyes, was as brilliant as ever. Interesting movie. Subtle yet satisfying. Thanks Movie Central.
Thanks MC this has been great during this awful pandemic. I miss and especially my son miss going to movies but I have seen a lot of good movies on this channels. Not a lot of vulgar language which is refreshing.
Excellent film. Could even have been a play given the characters and their interactions. No CG needed. Also I'm not very familiar with Ms. Hannah's work but this is the first time I see the softness of her charm. The way she swung from one type to the other and maintained her softness for quite long. I was quite charmed.
Daryl Hanna is a great actress but chose not to get too involved in the film industry. Splash, plus High Spirits are two other films (amongst many) where Daryl Hanna played a fantastic character.
Daryl Hannah has never been known for her extraordinary acting abilities but she is one of the most beautiful women in the history of this industry. Even with her limited acting skills she should have been a much bigger star. I mean if Keanu Reeves can make the A list Daryl certainly could.

My expectations weren't that high from the rating. Tom Conti rarely disappoints though and he is marvellous in a very natural and easy way here. Daryl Hannah also rises to the challenge of her role. A difficult chemistry to achieve and they made it work.

amazed to see tom conti.. he was a neighbour of mine when i was a child. i can remember going to school and walking past his garden. he would be learning his lines in his front garden. he is of the same italian background as myself. such a good looking young man. i must have been 12 at the time.

Watched entire movie. I did not expect that ending although predictable. Since she accepted his face minus dark glasses, I thought they both had reached an understanding of their lives. He would ask her to marry him and he would leave his fortune to her. I think their game of cat and mouse served them well. They could have saved each other.

Agreed. I'm surprised by some of the Amazon reviews. Very superficial and shallow. To penetrate the mind of an artist, through their paintings then reveal his innermost secrets, takes more than simple eyesight from Sir Paul, who was blinded by a horrific accident. And that deep excavation of the artist then brought out his own heinous past to light. One is reminded of the old adage: it takes one to know one. I thought the courageous attempt of Jane Ryder at defending her husband's past being shredded to pieces was truly masterful. Her own righteousness, from the early part of the movie was demolished. There was no way of knowing what was coming. Outstanding movie! A classic mystery movie.

Amazon exists not only to turn a profit, but also to dominate the online retail business any way that's legal but not necessarily ethical. This movie had a good sense of mellow drama turn into thriller with good twist ending. The title give idea that main character ability may be progressive where other character may be pawn to his ability, the story turn out that a pawn is the progressive aggressor. But base on common man main character ability may seem be misjudge conscious of other base on dominant pawn attempt to enter and challenge main character state of mind. As result the twisted end tells us if the dominant pawn is in conscious mind of main character, or in fact a progressive aggressor with intentions of revenge. Again, excellent twist to the end, I had recap beginning to see differences that led to the ending.

Agreed. I'm surprised by some of the Amazon reviews. Very superficial and shallow. To penetrate the mind of an artist, through their paintings then reveal his innermost secrets, takes more than simple eyesight from Sir Paul, who was blinded by a horrific accident. And that deep excavation of the artist then brought out his own heinous past to light. One is reminded of the old adage: it takes one to know one. I thought the courageous attempt of Jane Ryder at defending her husband's past being shredded to pieces was truly masterful. Her own righteousness, from the early part of the movie was demolished. There was no way of knowing what was coming. Outstanding movie! A classic mystery movie.
@@Kwelinzito I'm not surprised at all that Amazon reviews give many 4 star ratings to films deserving of only 3 or even 2 stars. Amazon exists not only to turn a profit, but also to dominate the online retail business any way that's legal but not necessarily ethical. And I'm just not into "4 star" movies that have plenty of digital explosions punctuated with automatic weapons fire.

This movie had a good sense of mellow drama turn into thriller with good twist ending. The title give idea that main character ability may be progressive where other character may be pawn to his ability, the story turn out that a pawn is the progressive aggressor. But base on common man main character ability may seem be misjudge conscious of other base on dominant pawn attempt to enter and challenge main character state of mind. As result the twisted end tells us if the dominant pawn is in conscious mind of main character, or in fact a progressive aggressor with intentions of revenge. Again, excellent twist to the end, I had recap beginning to see differences that led to the ending.
