The World Is Not Enough is a first-person shooter stealth video game based on the James Bond film of the same name. The game was published by Electronic Arts and released for the Nintendo 64 and PlayStation console systems in 2000. The Nintendo 64 version was developed by Eurocom and the PlayStation version was developed by Black Ops Entertainment, who had previously developed the James Bond game Tomorrow Never Dies. Eurocom would later go on to develop the Bond games 007: Nightfire and the 2010 remake of GoldenEye. Versions of The World Is Not Enough for the PC and the PlayStation 2 were planned for release in 2000, but were later cancelled. This game marks the fifth appearance of Pierce Brosnan's James Bond, the game included his likeness but not his voice.
Coming off the lukewarm reception of the previous Bond game, Tomorrow Never Dies, it was decided that The World Is Not Enough would go back to its roots as a first-person shooter, popularized by the success of the Bond game GoldenEye 007. In the Nintendo 64 version, it would also see the reintroduction of the multiplayer portion of the game.

perhaps you have not set up the audio properly? you need to do all the settings before you can play them try p64 it always works for me try every sound option.
I was about 8 years old when i got this game, i had no controller pack so saving was not an option. every day i played the game from start to finish on the various difficulties to achieve the multiplayer maps, i turned into a machine for the speed runs, i never got the best time on the level where you have the crossbow and you are in the forest. I'm 26 now and wish i had a shred of the patience i had back then. The nostalgia is making me feel weird... probably have to watch all the levels played through now.

you should have told your parents to get you a controller pack.. Or just don't turn the console off lol

Especially for something like a controller pack.. I could have left the console on all night every so often but I wasn't allowed to do that either.

Same I played the same first couple of missions over and over.
I remember the very first day I played this game. I was messing around with the controls comparing them to Goldeneye. I accidentally punched the Receptionist in the first few seconds in my first gameplay. LOL.

fun fact: this game came out one month earlier than it's original date cuz the dev team was able to finish it earlier than anticipated.. talk about hard work and dedication, RIP Eurocom.

i remember me and my friends would always punch that lady right in her face everytime the mission started. the way she holds her nose and falls down is absolutely hilarious.
I remember back when I was a kid after playing Goldeneye so much and then coming to this I was so amazed at how much better it looked than Goldeneye graphically. I was so impressed that the game had actual reload animations lol

This game is so criminally underrated. Goldeneye definitely deserves its legendary status, but I also put so many hours into the campaign and multiplayer in middle school.

Few ppl realize just how good the sound design in this game was. Dont believe me? Hook your N64 to a good stereo system, and crank it. Your neighbors will be convinced there's a shootout next door, i promise 😄😄😄
007 Goldeneye and 007: The World is Not Enough are my favorite N64 games - they should make an anniversary edition for Wii U and Xbox One, with 50 new maps and weapons , 50 player Online and new physic's but keep the original graphic's for that " Nostalgic Feeling ". add Perfect Dark aswell

Ever play Chefs Love Shack? That was amazing too! That, Banjo Kazooi, Bomberman....etc. Lot of great games for N64, good times!
+jmantime or they could do ala halo and switch between the graphics, but seeing as though EA no longer has the rights to make bond games and this was not as popular as goldeneye, I doubt that a remake will ever happen

@Cornholius Von Spitstain Mudtrack IV I grew up playing Turok 2, in fact I got for Christmas of 1998 and it introduced me to 1st person shooters, Turok 2 had amazing graphics for the day and amazing enemies animations! One of the 1st games to support the expansion pak for high resolution graphics..
You're forgetting Perfect Dark. I know it wasnt as ground breaking as Goldeneye, but it did just about everything better. The MP was endlessly fun along with the co-op campaign
Wow a N64 game with actual dynamic shadows. It was all thanks to the Expansion pack, the games that supported it really used it to its true potential, at least some really enhanced the graphics. Some would just add 480i res which is nice or have fully stable 60fps, and for Excitebike it would enable the music and more graphical effects

I played goldeneye 007 and the world is not enough years ago. I enjoyed both games however I have more memories with goldeneye and spent much more time playing it. But I do remember playing world is not enough and I liked it. I thought it was a pretty good game. Multi-player was fun too. I liked both games.

Goldeneye is hard to beat as the film was so bloody good! So much going on but as a game graphically this was better as youed expect and the controls were improved
I would say it's even better. More modern looking, better graphics, better storyline etc.

I still have my N64 and still have this. I just got done playing it. Good lord my eyes from years of graphic upgrades can't see shit now when playing this. I'd forgotten how blurry everything was. I still have GoldenEye as well and it's a little better but I'd forgotten about the 25 frames per second.
