Turok 2: Seeds of Evil is a first-person shooter video game developed by Iguana Entertainment and originally released for the Nintendo 64 in late 1998. A port was released for Microsoft Windows shortly afterwards. Turok 2: Seeds of Evil is the second game in the Turok video game series and a sequel to Turok: Dinosaur Hunter. In the game, the player assumes the role of Turok as he tries to defeat a powerful alien entity called the Primagen.
Turok 2: Seeds of Evil received very positive reviews from video game journalists and sold more than one million copies in the United States. Critics praised the arsenal of weapons and the length of the levels, but opinions were mixed on its inconsistent frame rate. A separate game, also titled Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, was released for the Game Boy Color in December 1998. Although set in the same fictional universe, it follows a different storyline. A sequel, Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion, was released in 2000.

@@harrisonbooth6129 the first one is easy though, apart from finding all the keys that's the only real difficult part and starting over and over if you don't have the controller pak

That main theme! The music plus the dinosaur's steps, and the scared screams of people, was fucking intense at 10s. Such a great soundtrack, and memories

On if my all time favourite games. The atmosphere was so good. This and goldeneye were classics on N64.

The framerate was abysmal, but this was incredibly impressive on a technical level. Between the textures, lighting, and model detail, it looked better than just about any other shooter on the N64.

Great game. The cerebral bore in this game was so awesome. Used to love watching the enemies run for their life as it tracked them down.

The fact that you could see more than 50 feet ahead of you made the game 100% more enjoyable, not to mention the incredible textures and lighting

We never could find a memory pack for our n64 so had to rely on level skip cheats to get far. The game only had 8 or so levels but they were massive!! We couldnt make use of save points obviously so this game was very difficult. I remember us constantly replaying it and loved how you could make the AI fight each other and also loved the saw weapon so much. The graphics and sound plus music were amazing! Its the one area that n64 totally trumped ps1 was in first person 3d worlds. This, goldeneye, perferct dark and even 3rd person zelda and mario were just too much for ps1. Of course ps1 had amazing games too and cgi cutscenes but the two consoles had so much to offer I was privilaged to have both growing up! :D

Esse jogo é diferenciado. Ele é perfeito. Trama, trilha sonora (em cada detalhe), jogabilidade. Que jogo! Na versão de PC perdeu um pouco de qualidade, a trilha sonora ficou meio Midi, gráficos um pouco limpos de mais, com menos detalhes e os corais das trilhas não parecem reais, mas é jogável. Agora a versão de Nintendo 64 é sem igual. Ao jogar Turok 2 é impossível não sentir a tensão do jogo, devido a ação continua e todos os elementos já citados que o colocam dentro do jogo. Os efeitos sonoros, gritos ao longe; de coisas distantes acontecendo, Ruídos de Pássaros, Cavalos relinchando, pedidos de socorro e até tiros de algum soldado lutando em algum lugar, e você consegue ouvir isso mesmo não estando no local e muitas vezes ao encontrar tal lugar vê sinais de alguma batalha que houve ali, ou somente os corpos, é de arrepiar, Som das armas, passos dos inimigos... É uma atmosfera criada de forma altamente realista. Turok 2 é o melhor de todos da série. O primeiro me parece mais um ''Sketch'' de algo que ainda estava por vir. E o que vemos em T.2 Seeds of Evil, é a obra pronta. Turok 1 e 3 e também Rage Wars são legais. Mas Turok 2 é espetacular. Está muito além dos outros, isso é fato. Que clássico. Marcou minha infância e de muitas pessoas. ---I AM TUROK!

This game was awesome as a kid. A huge leap forward from the first Turok game. The bosses on Turok 2 were really well designed and were all different which gave the game some real flavor. Also there were tons of new weapons which were great fun to play with, especially that blade that you could throw and cut through enemies!

I remember as a kid, there was a game i used to play on the n64. It was a 3rd person game. I know it was n64 because I had a Gameshark. I needed a Gameshark to complete this part. I was playing as a guy running away from a t-rex. The camera was behind you. Then you had to climb up a wall. The walls are metal, like a silver. Then you were running toward the camera while the t rex was behind you. You run past a fence type thing that the dino cannot get past. Then you encounter an alien and a guy. I tried looking at Dino Crisis and Turok, but i don't believe those are it. Thank you!

Is it just me, or does the blood look less detailed (bigger blobs) in the remastered version?
The remaster just ruins the charm of the original, nowhere near as creepy or dark or atmospheric and the level simplification was such a stupid downgrade that made exploration pointless. Totally ruined the badassery of the weapons, the flare sounds so bad it’s embarrassing in the remaster and don’t even get me started on the nuke

I loved the first game but I never could get past how slowly this game ran.
I rented this back at blockbuster when it 1st came out and fell in love with the game. 3 years later I found it on sale at Toysrus for like 1.99 which I thought was a steal. Hands down the best single-player shooter of all time.

Cons :
- Hard to aim on the N64 joystick, with the spring effect supposed to re-center the view. But by maintaining the stick, you can do it.
Pros :
- Graphical universe : a mix of SCI-FI and old stones, with reptiles, insectoids, in a glaucous environment.
- Animations (when moving, dying, falling, etc). They react to pain.
- Feels like in a B-series, like "V".
- Blood texture + good sensation when hiting. Colours (green and red, tasty !).
- Variety of ennemies, of weapons (all having a real utility).
- Level design : very clear, and fluid. Nice textures.
- Cinematics : simple, but fitting very well with the rest.
- A kind of pre-apocalyptic story, making you to feel depressive but angry at the same time.
- A fog to make you feel anxious (in real, to relieve the hardware, but hey !).
- The sensation of constant threat : they feel you, they hunt you, and they find you.
- No collision bugs !
- And a gore way to decapitate those fucking bastards with the "talon" (claw) or just the double-barrel.
I remember the spacecraft with the insects. That's a "balls of steel" moment.
Jumping was so finicky in this game. Thanks for the memories. Like others have commented this game scared me too, the music really spiked anxiety lmao

Playing this as a kid I died so many times because I always went in guns/blades blazing and I never really thought out a strategy so all that plus the lack of a memory card… really taught me to how to be good at the game I think it was only The Sisters Of Despair that really got me for some reason
I couldn’t play this game past the water I didn’t know how to navigate through I alway ran outta breath. 30+ years later oh the nostalgia. I think I need to buy a NINTENDO 64.
The 3D models in this game was so well put together, and even better with the expansion pak.

This look like it was built on the Doom engine or Doom 2 and Duke Nukem 3D all from the same era. Spent so many hours playing those games back then. Crazy how time flies.
