I've recently added slam exercises to my workout routines but was unsure of the difference between soft shell and the smaller denser balls in my gym. Your video did an excellent job of explaining the differences between the two. Thank you for the great video. For what its worth, I prefer the Medicine Ball overall. You just can't beat the bounce when it comes to finding a rhythm in your slams.
Depends on exactly what you want to do. I would say a 30 is a pretty good weight thats difficult but not so much so that you have to start ruling out movements
I think you could go either way. A slam ball will have the advantage of being smaller in diameter so it will be easier to hold and manuever. But a med ball is going to give you additional versatility.

Especially if you’re at the gym and you dont have to pay to replace the soft shell if it busts!
Would love to see the other medicine balls! I’m trying to learn from all
Great gouge, very helpful thank you
Glad it helped!
Gracias por esto 😊
Can you recommend a good one?
Dynamax. Been using them for years in college weight rooms.
Any suggestion about weight? I have an heavy one for strongman stuff but I would like to do some conditioning with a slam ball. I m a big guy but 55

Is there a big difference in 20lb / 30 lb
I guess it depends on what you’re using the ball for. Some exercises maybe not much, some exercises it would make a huge difference.
thank you@@hortonbarbell
Only about 10lbs
Slam ball or medicine ball for squats, crunches, russian twists?

Hey, nice video. My kids play baseball/softball, and I've been trying to figure out which ones I should get 1st. What do you think?
I would def go with a soft-shell medicine ball for rotational sports. Way more versatility.
