- This Resident Evil 2 knife only challenge was by far the hardest challenge I've done yet. I'm not sure it could get much harder than this unless I tried to go for an S+ rank. And the title's correct; I did this as a knife only challenge while taking no damage from enemies, on hardcore difficulty and I didn't use the infinite knife unlike most people on RUclips who attempt this challenge.

Resident Evil 2 is such a great game and I always have a blast playing it, but this challenge almost gave me a brain aneurysm. I was so stressed, especially against the g2 and g3 boss fights which together took me over 11 hours JUST ON THOSE PARTS. I dare anyone to try this challenge, it's insanely difficult but so rewarding once you finish it.

Brilliant. I'm 71 and my wife is 68, we both love gaming. I work the controls and she is good at the puzzles, we are playing this game during the Virus lock down UK. I've found it really difficult and was about to give up after trying to beat the Boss at the green house stage. After watching your channel we are going to start again (not with just a knife) taking more care and not trying to kill everything. Cheers.

In the canon scenarios I like to imagine everything is already unlocked for Claire when she’s making her way through.
from being able to kill bosses with them, use them to escape zombies and reset their behaviour in rooms, it seems doors are the ultimate weapon in RE. Umbrella was trying to make the perfect weapon but we've had them all along

Pb, 1h 5m 38s 0 deaths, 0 saves, some hits taken (for the caution speed increase). Game glitched at first so it said -4860h -0m -6s for some reason however the other screen shows proper time.

Tyrant is the reason i've completed every RE game 10+ times, but only RE2 once lmao. Hes TOO well done. Absolutely nothing like the baby in RE8 or Jumpscares in RE3. Hes ten times more terrifying than that, knowing nowhere is safe, he always knows where you are, and those horrendous loud footsteps always following you? I just can't bring myself to playing it again

You can just run straight forward toward where the licker will land in the medallion room near the library, he will jump forward and past you and that leaves you with plenty of time to run out of the room. Really impressed with how you did the first Birkin fight, I don't think I could ever manage that without taking damage, nice!
Those final two boss fights must have been so intense. I’m sure you knew every single animation to attack on doing it over and over so many times. Also doing this challenge on PS4 is awesome and every other video I’ve seen of knife only is someone on PC with their FPS to the max. Now doing a knife only on PS4 that’s skill.

For anybody curious, when people talk about this being harder on console than on PC; they are referring to the fact that FPS directly effects the knife's damage. I don't know if it's a 1 to 1 correlation (120fps=120damage) but I think so. BTW, is the tyrant what happens when a Chad says m'lady? Asking for a friend.
I think higher framerates make the knife hit more times in one slash, so they break faster but they also get the job done faster

@@justwatch7091 As far as I know, the damage is the same but the amount of times it causes said damage is higher, which is why it also breaks faster
The knife's base damage is the same but each swing deals more damage since it ticks more times per swing. Of course, the knife also degrades faster per swing. As an example, at 30 fps it takes 10 slashes to kill something; at 120 fps it takes like 3 - but in both instances, the durability decreased the same.

Before this video I always thought that even standard mode was difficult but after seeing you beat it in hardcore with only a knife and with a controller shows that you can get good at anything.

53:08 Speaking of doors, one neat trick to get rid of Mr.X, is pass through a door with him behind you, push the door slightly open without going back through it, he won't be able to open the door and he'll start walking away, he needs to be fully aggroed for this.
This is so cool. The fact that you only used knives to finish the game, and did not take any damage at all is already AMAZING, regardless of how many attempts it took. I've finished the game twice now, (Noob, i know) but the game still sort of, kinda scares me, and I can't imagine myself using only knives to fight, let alone, not take any damage at all. SUBSCRIBED!

When I did Hardly Armed Plus I started over so I could grab the board from the room the two zombies pop out of in 1F East in the beginning before you meet Marvin. I put it on one of the windows 2 zombies come out of so when I came back with 3 boards later it would be easier.

Edit:. I tried doing this, got to G3 and I had to give it up. You're a legend!
Edit 2: I just discovered you can attract one or both of the sewer zombies you have to get by on the staircase by running around the closed watergate before you even get to that room. This helped me clearly staircase so I did not have to use the door trick to get by them.

This is kinda like asmr for me well it feels like it. Like whenever I was sick, I would go to my uncle's room and he would always be playing video games or watching anime and I would just lay in his bed and watch him play, he would sometimes talk but most of the time I would just listen to the background noises and the clicking sounds of the controller.
