I was there. Kick ass show. It was 91' in Oakland for Day on the Green. The entire floor of the park was ripped apart and there was a giant sod fight. Literally hundreds of sod pieces being thrown around in the air - people getting pelted. It was uncanny. Bands were Faith No More, Soundgarden, Queensryche and Metallica.
I need to come back to this after surfing around RUclips and watching live vids of all my fav 80's bands. Queensryche have always been great live. Saw them destroy Kiss in 1984. They ate The Cult in 1986. Saw LiveCrime twice. Alway got an awesome show. The world's top audio engineers lined up for the opportunity to mix these guys live. The world's top lighting directors lined up too. Queensryche toured with Rush's road crew for many years.
I seen them December 14th 1990 at the san diego sports arena. Front row left center. Usually at the front all you hear is static, not with these guys crystal clear every note all night. One of the best performances I have ever seen.
I remember seeing Queensryche at the Monsters of Rock festival in England back in 1991. Jeff Tate's voice really stood out for me, even though I'd never got into them before. Just trawling through the tube and found this, brought back memories of a great day. If I remember rightly, Black Crows on first, then Queensryche, Motley Crue, Metallica then AC/DC. Great line up, great day, with a suprise package in Queensryche.
This is THE quintessential 80's drumkit! I love it. Huge drum kit with a rack with cymbals hanging down and chains. Amazing. I remember being very young and hearing this song.
