The Bonkers commercials used to crack me up.
Also you were definitely an 80s kid if you remember the Juicy Fruit jingle before Family Guy.

On the first week of my fourth grade year on my spelling I remember one sentence on the third page saying the first chewing gum was invented by Thomas Adams and William Wrigley

I just thought of another gum that was popular in the 90s when I was in high school Cinn-a-Burst..& Jucy Fruit was popular when I was really little in the early 80s..😊..Also in the 90s they brought back Extra Classic Bubble Gum, it had the sweet classic taste Bubble Gum..I wish they had an "imogie" for Bubble(pink bubble)Gum. 😉 ;)

My favorite brand of 80's gum is Bubble Yum Bubble Gum..They had 🍓 🍌at one time. It was pink on the outside & yellow in the middle. And, 🍋Lemmon/ Lime-Hey, they just show the commerical for it. And they had an Orange flavor(too)I don't know if kids today would like it, its an acquired taste..It kida reminded me of an orangecreamsicle. you don't see much orange flavor anymore-It was good!! Care Free was good too..😊

Exquisite subliminal messaging from Carefree, how the opening notes of their jingle are identical to the Star Spangled Banner but with a slightly different rhythm.

Does anyone know of a gum/breath mint jingle that went something like "Hey man, I've got a new toy
    Now swing it good boy
Why can't you be right in my ice
    Your breath is good now"

Not sure why Certs and Bonkers were included. They weren't gum. Certs was a mint, and Bonkers was fruit flavored candy. I don't know what my favorite gum type back then was. I wasn't much of a gum chewer back then.

Razzles, weren't available here. I managed to find them at an old Retro store. But, I didn't really care for it. I didn't like the texture. Does anybody remember Thrills, the purple chick-lett Gum?? My grandma used to give us this. So, I grew up with it. It tasted like soap-you wouldn't forget it. It wasn't bad..however, alot of people didn't like it. And I was disappointed with Razzles..I think 13 Going on 30 could've used a better 🍬 candy choice. Like Spree or Tootsie Roll* Dots.. :) or Runts..😊

Wouldn't it be hard or difficult for football players to chew "Big League" chew gum? Or anything in their mouth-if, they have to wear a mouth gaurd??
