The term Gen X didn't exist in the 80s. In fact even though I am of that generation, I refuse to accept the marketing moniker. In addition Gen X doesn't mean anything while the Baby Boomer generation had a reason to be named. We are post boomers, let's leave it at that.
I'm an older millennial. Was only a little kid during this era. But have been nostalgic for it, all my life.
I've always loved how much heart these old commercials had. Yeah they were all about making $ but, man could they ever make life feel better! Miss these days. Thanks for this great channel Dave.

The '80s, when commercials seemed upbeat, happier yet more laid back, with that bright yet soft lighting and swinging between pastels and neon colors. Nobody as annoying as Flo from Progressive or Doug from Liberty Mutual.
Also the voice overs are smooth, not annoying

They were so relaxing. I remember when my grandpa started saying the commercials shout at us 😂. Now they're just plumb hyper stimulation.

Didn't know anybody was putting pitas on their menus in the 80s. I definitely remember pitas becoming this fad thing in the late 90s.

Because of the news breakI learned about that 1988 Kentucky bus crash and just read all about it. That was a tragedy. I'm glad I know about it now but that is super sad. But I'm glad of the safety changes that came from it.
