I'm 52. I cant believe I'm saying this but these commercials are relaxing to watch. Hated them as a teen. 80s was such a great decade.
Yup 51 here
I agree with you 110 percent I miss the 70s and 80s so much. The Old Days were the Best times when everything was normal.
43. Totally agree
I'm 41 and I'm the same so relxing and nostalgic
The best decade!
I'm just going to come out and say it here, I miss everything from 1980 all up to 1999. These were some of the greatest years ever when it came to commercials, tv shows, cartoons, movies, games shows, music, music videos arcade games, clothing, jewelry,
Coloring books, holiday stuff and so much more. I am 100% completely proud to be an 80s kid. If I come relieve the whole entire thing over again, I most certainly would.
Me too😢
I miss a time when you could give a child a stuffed animal, and they truly felt utter joy and happiness to have received it.
It was nice to be able to watch TV back then without big pharma constantly trying to shove something in my body.
Best laugh I've had all day... What you wrote is true.
So very true. I’m a nurse and back then direct marketing of pharmaceutical drugs to consumers was against the law. I do miss those days too!
It really tells you something about modern times when you can watch commercials from 40 years ago and feel warm and fuzzy. I love escaping the now.
To me it's like the icing on the cake of modern advertising. Even those "homey voiced: narrators which were on EVERYTHING. Really indicative of the materialistic decade with the birth of the "family values" which have now morphed into a joke.
Yess
I know. I find myself escaping into the past more and more often. It's comforting. The world and life was just better then. And not just because I was younger. Things were just more positive. We are living in dark dire desperate times now.
I can't believe I enjoy watching compilations of old commercials I grew up with... Nostalgia is one hell of a drug....
Indeed it is!
Is it just my nostalgia or were commercials much more wholesome and heart-warming back then?
Yes!
And my intelligence wasn’t constantly insulted.
i'm sure every generation does this. it does, of course, seem more "wholesome."
Commercials in the 80's felt like being tucked into bed by your grandparents after a bedtime story. 🥰🥰🥰
@@toddburgess5056 Best way to explain it.
1980s me: leaves the room at every commercial break
2020s me: purposely watching them on RUclips
ACK
Im sitting watching commercials I hated having to sit through now slowly tearing up wanting to go back to these times. Great compilation thank you for the memories.
Huge facts!!! Makes you miss sooooo much and sooooo many!
11:39 tearing up now?
You're welcome
Same here great times …
The best. It’s amazing how many that remember these days want it back. We wanted the technology. We asked for the realistic VR. So much hoping for all the advancements that the future would bring but once it gets here, it’s kind of funny that all we want to do is go back, isn’t it?
i was born in 1995 but for some reason watching these is so calming its like a look into an alternate universe where all the terrible things in my lifetime haven't happened & everything is a little less stressful & everyone's a little more kind to each other
Ah, the 80s. To Gen Xers like myself that was our 1950s. The innocence, a warm comfortable home, the safety and care of your parents and the joys of being young with all life had to offer at the time. It was a good time to be a kid.
Yeah, there was a lot of drugs/cocaine but for youngster like me it was being able to walk/bike to your friends out and hang out until dark as well as play outside and no social media. Innocent days.
@@MsTimelady71 Yes, same here. We were so lucky. Life was so good.
Daily cartoons, Saturday and Sunday morning toons on 3 to 5 channels and that was just on antenna tv, much more if you had cable.
yes
@@MsTimelady71 Agreed.
If you had told me in the 80's that I would be nostalgic watching commercials 40 years later I would have called you nuts!
Mid life, eh? Me too. I would suffer the pains of Hell in the afterlife if I was given 10 hours every week in the 80s of my youth.
Such a comforting era. I will always look back at the 80’s with nothing but love ❤️
Best decade
💯‼️
MAD was fun?
We couldn't wait until we grew up and watching these makes me want to be a kid again. No worries back then and no social media. We didn't know how good we had it. The 80s were definitely the good ole days for Gen X'ers.
Millennials can say the same about the 90s. Our two generations got the last of the "innocence" I think.
I would argue the best era ever. We had the grooviness and acceptance of the 70s. 80s fucking gold. Entered our high school/adult stage in the 90s and rode the best party horse until 2010 before technology took over and everything went to shit.
@@ninjacrumbs Exactly. Well said.
@@ninjacrumbs It wasn't technology, it was liberals.
My pops taught me how to drive a car when I was 12, after that I was hooked and kept telling him I can't wait till I'm 16 so I could drive. He used say, no you can wait time goes by to fast. Well now it's 35years later, hes dead, my moms dead, my daughter is 25, and I'm sitting here with 2 puppies watching 80s commercials on a Sunday afternoon 😑
Everything was better back in the 80s, music, parties, concerts, and holidays. Wish I can go back
80's Nostalgia is a better drug than crack.
Which carries its own flavor of 80s nostalgia
That all depends on who you ask and if you've ever had a crack 🤷😂😂😂
Pretty close 🤷♂️
I love that old Folgers coffee Christmas commercial. It really takes me back 😔
Funny…I did crack most of the 1980s.
during a time where there wasnt anyone on phones... where you actually had to interact with people and call them to talk to them... i truly miss the 80's
Me too
80s commercial jingles were insanely effective. I still have jingles stuck in my head for items that have been out of production for decades.
I still buy Fanta soda because of the 80s Fanta jingle
The 70s were even more jingle centric. Or famous taglines. I still remember some memorable ones from when I was like 5. Can still sing them word 4 word. Now that's effective advertising.
Watching this is called the warm fuzzy feeling you'll never experience again
😂 true. Up next - cold eternal death.
I can just watch it again......and experience it again.
Spooky times
Yeah...it’s called nostalgia. 😉
It makes me want to cry. My mid-life crisis isn`t a sports car or hanging out at clubs. Rather it is just wanting to go back to the 80s when I was a kid and just go trick-or-treating with my home made costume....ahh, fark...I`m crying now
I was a young adult in the 80's and I LOVE reminiscing about the good old days. They really were the BEST of times!
The 80’s were my fav decade! Born in 75. So glad I was around to experience a childhood with no social media, a town that was safe to walk around in, for hours at a time, during the summer. Having to go to the library and find books for science projects, and hard working, patient people…..slamming the phone down. Not knowing who was calling you before picking up. And having to be home, to get someone’s phone call! I’d go back in a heartbeat!
Great comment! The 80s were so innocent in comparison to the current era. Modern technology has made it so easy to keep in touch, but has made people so much more distant.
Born in ‘75, too. Definitely the best era!
Good points
I miss how almost every announcer had nice deep smokers' voices back then
Yes!! 😂😂😂😂
I was born in 1970 and these commercials bring back the memories.😎
76 💯‼️
@@annissa5356 71 here :)
What’s ironic is people will pay for RUclips Premium to avoid current commercials while watching vintage commercials 😅
What I wouldn't give to be a kid again in the 80's...
Only if I could keep some of the knowledge I have now.
I loved that McDonald's commercial with William "The Refrigerator" Perry and that Folgers Christmas commercial was so heartwarming. I wish I could go back in time and enjoy the '80s as an adult.
The '84 Chicago Bears were awesome. Remember The Super Bowl Shuffle?
@@swannoir7949 The highlight of my high school that year was having the 84 Bears at our assembly. QB McMahon was an a-hat but the rest were awesome and nice.
@@MsTimelady71 That's cool. I met Walter Peyton at the Park West and have a picture of him and me. I keep it put away so it doesn't fade (35 mm). It was taken shortly after his diagnosis. I'll always cherish that memory.
I didn't even remember the commercial, but I totally knew who they were going to show.
It was the '85 Bears.
does anyone get the upbeat feel from these ads that we dont have anymore
Do you watch commercials anymore?
Oh how I miss the 80s. 💃🏻🕺🏻 I love the old commercials they make me happy and sad all at the same time. 🎭 I wish I had a time machine. 😔
💯💯💯 yes.
I was 12 in 1980, so teenager throughout the 80's, I feel so lucky to have grown up in this era!!! If I ever get a time machine I will swing by and pick you up and we will both go back! Just kidding 😊. Where does the time go? I would go back in a heartbeat!
I wouldn't want to go back, but would love to bring some pieces of that forward. For any faults, I still think most of us had a more honest(or maybe realistic might be a better word) childhood than those of the 2000's and especially now.
@@tommcdonough6086 Me too the 80s was the BEST!!
I definitely miss the 80s. Such a fun simpler time to grow up in!
Retro is my medicine
Amen
When commercials had catchy jingles! Watching these bring back so many memories!
Tom Bosley voiced a bunch of those commercials!
His voice was perfect in many ways. Add in the familiarity of the always so good Mr. Cunningham; perfect.
The narrators's voices and songs truly made these commercials amazing.
The 80s was really a special era the more I get to see its commercials. Feels almost dream like
The 80's were awful, especially the early years. Factories shutting down, high inflation, high gas prices, high unemployment, dreadful cars, etc. The end of the decade was ok.
@@robertd9850 I bet. For others it was the greatest.
@@robertd9850 In some things, but in many others it was when things started turning around and, as you point out, by the end many things were better. The sad thing is things kept turning and started slowly falling off the deep end. Thus proving the adage "Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times." Its not that everyone was smarter, just were forced to be less dumb.
@@robertd9850 True, I bought my first house in 85 10% mortgage rate!
Hey, those high mortgage rates are good to keep prices down and the money in your savings account can actually grow, I bought a CD in the mid 90s that paid 10% interest.
I never thought the 80s would ever be thought of as retro.
am in the 80's forever. oysters for the locals only.
I really feel old now that 90s is retro and nostalgic. I'll take either the 80s or 90s over this new world era of dismal ness we are currently in.
Wow, nostalgia hitting really hard right now. These commercials bring back so many memories. I can't believe all of these years have flown by. I really wish a time machine existed so I could go back and experience everything again. I truly miss the 80s. AWESOME TEENAGE MEMORIES ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The 80's were great, Saturday morning cartoons were the highlight of the week.
That Alice in Wonderland movie cast was freaking stacked Ernest Borgnine Harvey Korman holy smokes
IKR?
I love that version. Had no idea so many people were in it.
Is it sad that I would rather watch ‘80s commercials than the latest show on Netflix?
Amazing how commercials back then actually talked about the product and gave you information on it. Today you can see a commercial for a car and not learn one thing about it other than dogs can drive.
Not to mention the ones that just show some lady in a random field saying, "Ask your doctor about Drugstolinebigpharmaspockets today!" but says nothing about it whatsoever.
I remember the Folgers commercial. Got me in the holiday spirit for some reason
Damn it! Seeing that Folgers commercial, with Peter sneaking home for Christmas surprise.... got me all teary eyed again -- 36 years later! Well done.
Wow what a walk down memory lane!!! I remember so many of these commercials and shows
Thanks for putting this together! 😢makes me miss some of family members and all the great memories we use to create together!! Life sure does go by in a flash! Unfortunately, as kids we don’t tend to recognize it until we’re Adults 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️!
Seeing these commercials again makes me remember how quiet it was back then .
These days it is impossible to read a book or think without being interrupted right away .
I’m watching this while eating a bowl of cereal. For a second I forgot it was a RUclips video, got absorbed into it and thought it was an actual live broadcast. I do miss the ‘80s. I have little kids now, and today are the ‘80s for them, so I’m enjoying today just the same.
I truly believe this is the best generation I was born in the mid-70s basically grew up in the '80s and '90s those times are truly the best in history ✅🤪
@@phillipbanes5484I'm with you. I was born late 65 so I'm same age as you. I remember the 70s too. Early 70s when I was like 5 and 6 were still very 60s ish in clothing, styles , attitudes car styles etc as I can remember. And early 80s still had late 70s vibes. I think us early Gen X really grew up at a special time. We had the childhoods even our parents didn't have.
The late 80's were the height of humanity. It's been downhill since.
Agreed. The technology got better, the people did not.
True
The holiday commercials really hit me in the feels.
I'm 41, so I was just a little kid thru much of the 80's but I still remember some of these commercials and I certainly miss all the boxy cars.
I'm 55. These commercials bring back so many great memories. And you're right, 80s was a great decade.
I love this. Christmas in August is okay... It reminds one of how the 80s are the good old days. Ugh.
Almost 4 decades later and Bears fans are still Milking that won Super Bowl win
And the Super Bowl Shuffle
That Superbowl I was a whopping 18 years young the Bears 🐻 kicked our ass! Lifetime Patriots fan. Man to be young again! I was a teenager practically the whole 80's decade, feel blessed to be young during this era!

Happy Hump Day Retro friends!
My grandmother recorded both parts of that Alice in wonderland special. we would watch it every time we went to her house. I did not recall that this aired around Christmas time. This brings back so many great memories thank you for posting!
The best Alice in wonderland ever made.
The jabberwocky freaked me out, haha!
Makes me miss my grandma. I went to her house for every TV special in the 80s and early 90s.
CLUE to this day will always be my fave movie.
I miss the 80s. If only I could go back 🥰
These commercials are magic from the past.
40 minutes of pure 80’s gold 💯🙏📼📺🧈 Thank you Sir Dave!
Gotta love the 80s!
Not really.
@@jjw1072 don’t be such a fun sucker lol
Yes me too
the gov't people messed it up.
Is it weird that watching these commercials almost brings a tear to my eye? I was a child when these aired, and just seeing them again transports me back to a time when some of my departed loved ones were still around. There was always a TV on in the house, so I really associate it with family.
Edit: as I watched more of this I realized even more why it is so familiar to me. This particular series of commercials appears to have been taped from a broadcast of Alice in Wonderland that I also had taped and watched repeatedly as a kid. This is such a specific time capsule for me, and I can't believe it exists on RUclips for me to watch so many years later. Thank you for preserving these tapes and uploading them!
I watched this exact Alice and Wonderland too as a child when it aired. So I watched all of these commercials! Good times 😊
Good old memories. Crazy that we can feel comfort from old commercials. Times have changed, right? Miss those times.
Fabulous memories! I feel sorry for ppl who didn’t know the 80’s…
Me to. Especially 80s music too.
I find it incredibly ironic how we absolutely hated these very commercials when we were kids, but we are watching them intently now. 🤔🤣
I'm weird. I never hated watching commercials the way most people do. Maybe I have a short attention span or something. I usually watched all the commercials. Even had favorites. 😅
I really wish they invent the time machine so I can go back to the 80s and experience everything again..
"Panasonic just slightly ahead of our time"... 😆😂😅 I'm dead!
I miss the 80's narrators voices...🥰
In 1986, a humanoid figure emerging from your lamp to tell you about lightbulbs was apparently normal but in 2022, we call that a sleep paralysis demon lol.
Everything seemed so warm, safe and family-oriented. a time when people actually interacted with one another. No texting. No social medial distractions and self-obsessed posts. Mothers AND Fathers were equally referenced in commercials. Dads weren't the butt of jokes. No woke nonsense. Truly the good old days.
And a person making minimum wage could afford health insurance and a used car.
Liberals and SJW roaches hadn't infected everything yet.
I wish I was born in the 80's or 70's. You guys had an era to be genuinly proud of. Meanwhile, I like in what is the laziest, whiny and entitled generation of all time! If there's anything I feel it's that I am ashamed to have grown up in such a shitty era.
When it sez this is CBS. Makes me go back to my mom's house. So warm just like these commercials. How times have flown by.
I love the 80's commercials! ❤The TV ads nowadays are nothing but trash and you can't always believe what they advertise on television!
You couldn't believe them then either! 😂
That McDonald's refrigerator commercial was so good, big macs were so good and bigger in the old days...
there were no microwaves at mcdonalds.
Me in the 80s: Turn the channel, it's commercials. Me now: Where can I watch some of those 80s commercials?
Dave i’m really loving how you have a bunch of old 80s VHS from the Bay Area 💯
40 mins?! Yes! I’m all in for this episode!
Nothing but the good old 80s.
That Folgers coffee Christmas commercial really takes me back! 😔😔😔
Oh my, I think I have some of these on VHS still. As I clicked the play button, I instantly thought about the old two vhs tapes with Alice in Wonderland pt 1 and 2. I sincerely did not expect to see it here and thought it was pretty obsolete. But I still have it somewhere in my Mom's attic and have thought about going over there to retrieve it just to document all the commercials during that time. I used to have nightmares of that dang dragon and remember the first time I saw one of those front lawns with the really small grass, that kind that is commonly used on golf courses. When I moved into a new area, one of my neighbors had grass like that and as a 5 year old (35 years ago) I have a clear memory of going to that house and knocking on the grass. Fully expecting it to be hard like on Alice In Wonderland. Dang the plethora of memories this just unlocked is a freaking gift, thanks for sharing this.
For those wondering why a bunch of suburban housewives were making enchiladas and why Cambells soup was making nacho cheese dip: The 80s was a time where Latino / Mexican foods finally became popular with the mainstream, but the old guard food companies didn’t know how to market it yet. A few years later was when all the salsas, dips, and whole aisles of Latin/Mexican/Hispanic foods became commonplace at the grocery store. Before the 80s, if you weren’t Hispanic, those foods weren’t on your average American’s radar much. I was born in 1973 and I didn’t know what salsa was until the 80s.
You're totally right. We never had Mexican food growing up. It wasn't around and wasn't a thing. Don't think I had my first taco til I was a mid teen in early 80s. Then all of a sudden it all became very popular. Rightly so. I love it. Except I do remember mom making a tamale casserole once in a blue moon in the 70s. Sliced tamales layered with stewed tomatoes, corn , cheddar cheese and Frito chips on top. That was good.
I bet that yummy looking Campbell’s nacho cheese soup/dip was a gateway food for suburban housewives to get into Mexican food.
Watching these commercials made me feel like an American again...that was trippy
"The Equalizer" has one of the greatest intros in TV history. Musically it's awesome, visually it's dark and unsettling.
That lego castle goes for like $245 on Ebay.
It's come back to me how we all went in so hard on Nutrasweet!!
Nutrasweet was everywhere
80's may have been one of the great decades we had just right amount of technology and world was safe for most part
Wellllll...not quite safe. The USSR hadn't fallen yet so we were in a cold war nuclear stand off with them. Boy that was a day when the Berlin Wall came down.
I'm 53 now. I was 10 years old when the 80s started, and I graduated high school in 1989. It is only really set in in the last couple of years how long ago the 1980s were. I didn't really appreciate it as much as I should, and I also fully realize we all look at the past with rose colored glasses. But it was a special time in america. I know that the late 1980s and the early 1990s were really the Zenith of our wonderful country. I'm not saying I'm ready for the grave yet, but I I am a new grandpa, and there is a special Nostalgia for the 1980s that I will never lose. I was lucky to be a little boy in the 1970s and the Teen in the 1980s.
Every decade had its problems, but I SO wish I grew up in this one... I'm a mid 90s kid, wish I knew 80s American life!
This was the season they brought back the early 80s movie intro, still used the 82 movie intro and debuted a new movie intro.
Back in the day when everything made sense!
Sarcasm ☝️
LOL That 3rd commercial, the one for Minolta, had the same voice over guy who was the narrator for the 1986 Transformers movie. He was saying auto-focus, auto-everything, but all I heard was Autobot, Autobot.
I’m 41 and I remember most of these commercials and it’s funny that I can sit through 40 min of old commercials and I can’t do 1 second of commercials today……everything sucks in the 21st century 💯
Everything does suck in 21st century. You're right. Give me the 80s or 90s any day.
That was fun! I remember so many of those. McDonalds was way better back then, I remember when Teddy Ruxpin was all the rage with the kids and yes, I'm guilty of loving those Pizza Rolls. Thanks Dave!
OMG YASSS
AND BOOKIT AT PIZZA HUT
And many teens were wanting to put a Slayer tape in Teddy Ruxpin to see if it could handle it.
They still cooked their fries in beef fat for instance, so of course they tasted way better. I'd almost swear the lettuce on your burger was cooked in beef fat. I mean honestly that is kind of the theme. In the 80's they didn't try to pretend to be somewhat healthy food. Now all they do is pretend and are worse for you in some ways.
Taco Bell used to taste better too. Not sure what happened there. Maybe their lettuce was cooked in beef fat.
The fries back then were greasy and good for a snack themselves.😅
@@TrackMediaOnly
I’ll never understand why Taco Bell got rid of their cinnamon crispas. Man I loved that treat so very much! I began making them at home when Taco Bell took them off of the menu, but to be honest with you… They don’t taste the same, even though they’re yummy too. 😢 I don’t know if it’s because they used a different type of oil, or their tortillas are made different than the ones I get in the store, or what. I do know thought that their replacement cinnamon twists suck!
Also, I became a vegetarian at 16 years old (in 1992), but before that happened, I used to _LOVE_ Taco Bell’s taco salads. I don’t understand why they got rid of them either (and I honestly can’t even think of one other restaurant that has ever had a taco salad on their menu before or since Taco Bell sold them)… Some years ago I got to thinking about that meal for some reason, realizing that it had been about a quarter of a freaking century since I last ate one! I missed that dish so dang much, so I went on a journey to create my own kick-arse vegetarian version of a taco salad...
And wouldn’t you know, I mastered that shit! Even down to making the fried tortilla shell bowl perfectly, sans professional equipment! Sooo damn good. It was very interesting to see how much I progressed too...
I started out by making a very bare-bones salad at first, with minimal ingredients (even including the taco shell part... because instead of making a tortilla shell bowl, I would use pre-made Ortega corn taco shells, toast them up a bit in my toaster oven to heat the shells up, and then break ‘em up & mix that into my salads). But then I began getting more and more creative and adding more and more ingredients... I made it absolutely packed full of protein, despite the fact it had zero meat in it.
If anyone wants to learn how I make mine (or perhaps just get ideas/inspiration from mine to be creative with making your own vegetarian/vegan taco salad), here’s how I do it:
__________________
Instead of ground beef, I make the base with a package of vegetarian ground beef (Trader Joe’s is my favorite brand - just use w/e is your fav brand 🙂), green/brown lentils, a mixture of sautéed diced green bell pepper/white or yellow onion and finely diced or minced garlic, a can or two of black beans (sometimes I substitute in a can of pinto beans instead of that second can of black beans), and a can of corn. Of course you want to season to taste as you cook it up (I just use garlic salt and lemon pepper, but feel free to use whatever you’d like - including taco seasoning of course [I’m just not a fan of taco seasoning is all]).
That base mixture can all be stored by itself in the fridge to be used for multiple meals over a week’s time (just heat some of it up in the microwave when using as leftovers).
To compile your salad: Take some of that fresh hot base mixture, and mix it up with a bunch of freshly shredded cheddar cheese to melt the cheese (never use pre-shredded from the store because of the anti-caking crap they put in it, as it prevents the cheese from melting properly), and then add one avocado (diced), diced tomato, sliced black olives, shredded iceberg lettuce (made by finely slicing the lettuce with a chef’s knife), sour cream, La Victoria red taco sauce, and mix it all up in a flour fried tortilla bowl shell that I make by frying the tortilla in a bit of oil for 50 seconds on each side, then immediately molding it into a oven safe saucepan or bowl with a potato masher to push the tortilla down into it to shape it, and sticking that tortilla in the bowl/saucepan into the oven on 350°F for around 12 minutes to bake.
And FYI, it took a _LOT_ of time/research to find that method! Every other method out there that doesn’t use professional equipment absolutely *SUCKS,* and is _NOTHING_ like what the shell bowl should look and taste like - the texture from other methods is always a total fail. This method makes the shell 100% _PERFECT!_ It’s just like what you remember from Taco Bell. :)
Doesn’t that sound delicious? That’s because it fucking is! And the cool thing too is that you really can make _MANY_ nights of leftovers from that first night’s work you put into making the base mixture. This meal is soooooo filling too! No joke. Enjoy!
7:23 - I remember this version of Alice in Wonderland well, and how scary the Jabberwocky seemed to me as a kid.
Here in 2024 watching all the nostalgia. ❤
You know if I where to go back in time back to the mid 80s and told people that some day we will be watching commercials from the 80s on a social media platform they would probably tell me "WHY" commercials suck, they would defiantly think I am nuts. and to see all these actors and singers that where still alive, but with all that said I wish I could go back even knowing what I know I would just have to keep my mouth shut because if I spew any of the crap that's going on today they'll put me in an asylum !!!
In a way we should be glad that VHS commercial-skipping technology didn't work that well.
Great assortment of 80s commercials
McDLT was the bomb!
I don't need a tv in my room...listening to these on my iPhone as I drift off to sleep is just as good.. The world was a better place. Full of hope... lacking so much of the division and hate that permeates everything now.
The Christmas commercials of the 80s are more exciting then today's Christmas commercials. I wished I grew up in the 80s, but I was born in 91 and I grew up in the 2000s.
Not to mention, that CBS extended movie intro!! Brings back the memories!!
Thanks for the awesome feel good time capsule Dave 👍, and I seriously don't remember AT&T long distance gift certificates, but that sure would have been a nice gift from someone, as back in the day in my area even calling the next town over only a few minutes away was considered long distance.
