Born in 68 so teenager throughout the 80's, I feel us ancient relics that grew up in the 70's and 80's were truly lucky to be young in this era. If you were a kid or young adult in this era you know what I am talking about!

Yeah, I am a 1977 child so I grew up right in the thick of it... I consider myself blessed because you could feel this was the last generation and things were going to change for the worse even growing up it's like, 'Okay things aren't this good?'... People just got along, music and sports were great, you grew up going through hard times like scrapped knees, building ramps and jumping them on your bike; actual games you made up with your friends holding tournaments, you had fights that weren't life or death and you worked things out and kept things in line with friends and foes.

In the 80's if you were a kid you lived it and didn't worry about texting and selfies, the days of Dukes of Hazzard , A-team, Saturday Cartoons, vcr movies, actual movie rental stores! Nothing like on a weekend renting 8 vhs movies and that was our binge! Greatest days
I used to spend an hour in the video store reading the backs of all of the video cases, looking for the perfect movie. My dad used to get mad at me for taking so long lol.

My parents had a 1989 Plymouth Voyager in Garnet Red. It was a step above the base model. Still had the 4 cylinder engine, but it got us places. It was a great mini van to get around in. I still miss it.

My dad told me he got a good deal on the minivan when it was brand new. It had a little bit of hail damage, and the dealership got all the dents out of it. Thankfully there was no damage to the windshield.
Do any 80s kids remember something called Photon? It was sorta like Lazer Tag, but had a helmet along with the gun and chest pack... There were even places in some cities dedicated to playing the game and if you didn't have the pack, you could rent one. Anyway, I have memories of this but I have never met anyone else who does.
Dallas had a Photon arena. I think Photon was the first commercial version of the game. Lazer Tag came much later, and it might have been the first portable/personal home based version of the game. At least, it was the first version to have a non-tethered gun. Photon was a much more complicated setup. Its home version had a vest, and a gun that was wired into it, like the full sized version of the game.
I grew up in NorCal and remember nearly every one of these. So many memories. I even automatically started singing some of the jingles. I remember feeling so nervous for the grandpa at McDonalds..lol..thanks for these. Awesome
Born in 71, like the other comments, what a great time to grow up. We used to go up north to our cabin in Michigan quite a bit & these times are when you could still identify vehicle make/model by it's headlights and/or grill. My Grandparents owned a car dealership so vehicles were an important part of our lives, we'd play that road game every trip, unless the Tigers were playing, then of course we listened to the broadcast.
Boy I remember getting Lazer Tag back in the day. And the cool accessory book that TSR (makers of Dungeons and Dragons) made that introduced a whole bunch of different ways to play the game, a code of conduct, fictional background information and even ways to roleplay with it! I even remember when Gen Con used to be in Milwaukee and they actually had a Lazer Tag arena set up! My Lazer Tag equipment has broken a bit over the years but I acquired some new ones several years back. Now if I can just fit into those belts ... and that vest ... no way! Lazer Tag is great.
Ah, 1987. That Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe still looks neat to me. I'm glad I preserved the whole package my Lazer Tag was in. I just barely used it and lost the belt somewhere. That airline commercial makes me want to watch "Nothing in Common," which had advertising agents producing that kind of sappy airline commercial.
I remember that Young Harry Houdini movie and The Charmings! No recollection of that Pat Morita show that aired alongside Spencer for Hire, however. P.S. that commercial with the guy going on a bike ride after breaking up with his girlfriend and being ok after drinking a 7-Up was hilarious 😂

Little did they know that decades later, the jeep line is pretty much, the only thing that saved Chrysler from being ruined by Daimler and fiat
