My mind is blown, we taped The Wizard of Oz off the TV when I was a little kid and these were the same commercials!!! I can repeat most of them word for word because I watched that tape a million times.

We never knew how good we had it in 70s & 80s. The 2020s are becoming an Orwellian nightmare compared to the "problems" back then.
Man 1984/85 was some great years. I was 5-6 years old and I remember most of these commercials. Back when new cars cost less than 10k lol
Yep! You could get a Toyota truck, the kind that run over 1,000,000 miles with just oil changes and brake pads.. for 3995..
And you could get 60s classics for under 1000
That Pepsi commercial hit me right in the temporal lobe.
Then you either watched a lot of adult programming, or you have the best memory known to mankind.
The cars looked and drove like it. Besides, a car costing $8k in 1985 would cost $22,500 today
@@willp.8120 TV was different. Most families had 1 and watched together in the evening. There were 3 or 4 channels all competing. Shows adults watched, kids watched. Ads were catchy...even for cars.
Back to back hamburger commercials and not one pharmaceutical ad. Ah, the good old days! I was 10 when the decade started. I spent my 20's in the 90's. The best times of my life!

I'm Australian, when I watched tv in LA in 2019, I got so tired of the pharmaceutical ads, from drugs for schizophrenia where a girl sees people who aren't there, to a gay guy who can now enjoy sex without a condom because he's using Prep, a drug that prepares you to contract HIV. I was disgusted!
I miss the days when the world wasn't a dumpster fire.

So the commercial at 12:05 with the lady running after the train unlocked some long buried memory that I can't explain. I remembered how my house smelled, probably from when I watched this as a tiny kid. I remember the feeling I had when watching it. I've never experienced anything like it.
smell is the sense most closely related to memory. I learned that in Trivial Pursuit.

I'm not an 80's kid, unfortunately. However, for some reason, these 80's commercials carry such a weight of warm nostalgic comfort. Don't get me wrong, 2000's commercials are alright. But they have nothing on these old commercials.

I remember every year the wizard of Oz was shown tv in January. It was a big event in our house . We all gathered to watch it and my mom would make popcorn. No talking was aloud. We just watched in awe. This was back in the 60’s. It’s a fond memory from my childhood.

What is DLT??
Back in 1989, I was helping a friend get ready for a house party. We weren't serving more than snacks and I was really hungry so I ran over to McDonald's and grabbed a McDLT meal of all things and came back to eat. Then the first guests arrived a bit early. That first guest was none other than Rain Phoenix, sister of River and Joaquin, who my friend just happened to be friends with. The Phoenix family lived nearby in neighboring Micanopy, FL -- we were in Gainesville. Well, in case you don't know the Phoenixes were/are Vegan, and Rain was militantly so. When she walked in and saw what I was eating, it set off an argument that lasted about 20 minutes.
Every time I eat McD's I think about Rain and how she stormed out defeated while I finished my meal of meat. She did manage to convert my friend to Veganism later, though.
Thank you for this! I really needed a smile and a dose of great memories. I just had a test done yesterday. They found 10 Polyps in my stomach that they are now doing a biopsy on to look for cancer. This after they saw an irregularity with my labs and my MRI(Bile Duct). It was inflamed or swollen and along with the lab(blood work) they felt more tests were needed. I'm praying that the results will NOT have cancer in them. So I really needed some great nostalgia and good memories and the 80's has them. Thank you sir and God Bless.

Wonderful times, in so many ways. The commercials from the seventies and eighties put me in a calm mindset. I can't stomach the commercials from today.

80s, the times where malls, movies, arcades, playing outside till the street lights came on. Where kids were left alone to be nothing more than innocent kids!!
the juicy fruit commercial.... hadn't seen/heard/thought that in forty years. it's a weird feeling, like unlocking parts of the brain that have laid dormant for decades

Back when watching The Wizard Of Oz was a once-a-year family viewing event. I loved the growing anticipation as the special day arrived! Thanks for uploading. I loved and miss the 80s. ❤️
The 80's were special. You had the traditional values of the 20th century in the western world but a technological advance to the future as well
Music was great
Movies were great
TV was great.
Women dressed and acted like women
Men were cool or atleast trying to be cool
Families were still cherished
Cars had so much brand and style choices
I had cable tv in Canada with 13 or so channels and more to watch than the 130 channels i have Today
I can go.on and on but the 80's had class, style, values and a bright light to the future.
I wanted Adam Computer or the Maxx Steele radio controlled robot for Christmas that year. Both were $400 and we didn't get either one. Not sure how we figured our parents could afford that, LOL! But that didn't stop me from hoping, wishing, and dreaming.

That Raisin Squares commercial is nothing but a combination between Raisan Bran and Mini Wheats.

I appreciate your efforts. I created a bunch of commercials comps, balanced the audio, cropped tearing and remastered them with AI enhancement software, but didn't use a watermark. I mean, I didn't write, produce, act in, etc., any of the ads
If you transfer your own material from VHS tapes you own and do all of the labor/sweat equity, I would recommend definitely watermarking your material. In essence, it is your material that you are producing. For example, if you are a gamer that is showing gameplay, you didn't create/produce/code the actual game, but you are putting in the effort to share the work involved to be involved with it. Keep at it!

Yup. If it’s not your material, your watermark doesn’t belong on it. And the courts don’t recognize watermarks for “effort.” 😂

Crazy how commercials are so nostalgic compared to other forms of media. I assume because most were there and gone in a few months to a year and locked in that memory with that point in your life. Youve likely never seen most of these since then. I certainly haven't but remember almost all of these as a kid.
These are really great and vivid memories. That Jucy Fruit commercial is as familiar as anything I have ever seen. Oh the nostalgia. I'm sure it has a lot to do with the fact that I was 10 years old then and that these are commercials and not real life, but it does seem like some kind of perfection.

Believe it or not those McDonald hamburgers really looked like that and they tasted like a juicy grilled burger with a wonderful flavor and texture. Now they’re small, thin pieces of what can only be described as a flavorless dry mix of oatmeal or some other filler mixed in with a little bit of meat that might be hamburger meat. Todays McDonalds burgers (all of them) are …..”in my opinion” horrible and a waste if time and money.
Nothing more iconic than CBS airing The Wizard of Oz. It was always the highlight of my year! I remember these commercials, except that weird one for the Fisher sound system.
