I love how Midsomer has so many older characters. No focusing on the young and beautiful. It is no wonder so many of them have passed. This was a very interesting, well composed video, with delightful music. Thank you!
What a fantastic wealth of wonderful and talented people, all who will be sadly missed. What a fantastic tribute to Actors and Actresses who have done us proud. Thank you and bless you all.
Every face brought a sigh. Each one was a gifted actor and brought their character to life. What a delightful show. Some surprised me to see their photos from years past. I thought oh yes, I remember them.
I miss John Nettles and Jason Hughes “ I know there not dead” they were the best duo and all these wonderful actors who have passed played a huge part in making the show so successful
We are still watching this fantastic duo here in Italy from. Monday till Friday, great actors. I appreciate the wohle series as well, both with John Nettles and Neil Dudgeon. All actors are excellent and all episodes are exciting.
This video is so very sad. I have watched Midsummer for a few years now, not at all minding watching them over and over again. This show is so laid back and comfortable. The characters you get to know and love and I can't help but feel sadness when they pass away!
I love Midsomer Murders. Have been watching since it first came on Public Television in Detroit Michigan over 20 years ago. For the past couple years I watch it every day - old episodes, the newer episodes. It’s such a high quality show. Your tribute is wonderful. Thank you. ❤
I just realised, you missed Richard Briers, he was also in it,he played a vicar and he was also in Monarch of the Glen and in the Good life. 2 more excellent British TV shows.👋💕🇦🇺
@Andrea-ol3uo: Not all of these cast members died because they were old, Tom Beard was 50 when he died and had Cancer, Haydn Gwynne was 66 and died of a brain tumour, Chance died in a Motorbike accident at the tender age of 27.
@@jane1975 Exactly. And it was only stumbling upon this video now that I found OUT Tom Beard had died. I just didn't know. And worse, not even this year or last. Hell he's been gone longer than the span between his only Midsomer ('Days Of Misrule') and his passing. Just as well as it's a Christmas episode so it's shown always around the 25th December, but that's still no reason it's not on at any other time. I blame the media in that they make way too much of Hollywood deaths and the losers in the long dead music 'industry (since 1990 and counting), so it's all too easy to miss when proper people like him die.
John Nettle's profile in the Telegraph last Saturday week. Bit rough at the edges, but still above ground. What a fabulous homage to the villages of England. Not to mention the actors who made the series such a classic. Heart felt thanks from Ireland 🇮🇪
My german husband and i are still watching this series every Monday evening, here in Germany. I hadn't realised how old the series was although we knew they are repeats.
I recognized many of these from their young photos, having seen them acting in other roles then. I'm 79 so I was young when they were. Sadly missed, every one, so much talent. Bless them. 💕
……remember seeing many of them in Shakespearean roles’, in tv series’, & movies’. Wonderful actors’, & actresses’………your talent was greatly appreciated………
@@Pickle8able Haydn Gwynn wasn't old either [ 66 ], she died of a brain tumour and was quite shocked to read she had died.
WHAT A UNEXPECTEDLY LARGE LIST, OF THE ACTORS WHO GRACED MY OWN LIFE, WITH THEIR UNEQUALLED TALENTS. I COULD ALMOST HEAR EVERY VOICE, WHICH TRIGGERED THE ROLE THEY PLAYED. STRANGELY, AND i HOPE I'M WRONG, SUCH TALLENTS ARE NOT AROUND TODAY, PERHAPS BECAUSE, THE STANDARDS OF WRITING AND CREATION, NO LONGER REQUIRE IT.

Margaret Tyzack (*1931- +2011). A wonderfully versatile actress, in Midsomer, portrayed Harriet Compton, co-owner of a model village, in the 2009 episode 'Small Mercies' and earlier, Naomi Inkpen in 'Garden of Death' (2000).
I always enjoy Midsomer; and I am grateful that the BBC gives actors and actresses long working lives. I have enjoyed all these people, and I am grateful for their talent. Because I rewatch many of the episodes, some of these people endure for me.

I can only echo what others have already said about the way you put this together. Thank you. Many of these were such familiar faces, but ones to which I couldn't always put names. There are some very fine actors listed here. Saddest for me were Barry Jackson and Graham Crowden, because I didn't know they had died.

I vividly remember Phyllis Calvert in "Indiscreet" with Ingrid Bergman and Cary Grant. Such a charming performance! Adored Anna Massey, Honor Blackman, David Warner, Robert Hardy and so many more. What is it about the UK that they raise so many great actors?! 🌟
Fell in love with the great David Warner WAY back in the 60’s in his first film, MORGAN, playing the title character!! Never forget how mad and Adorable he made that character, which could have been clownish, but Warner made him both lovable and pitiable. RIP David ❤️❤️😇

Amazing the number of star names who have guested on the programme over the years. I still love it now, but confess to trying to recognise the filming locations; 30yrs of taxi driving in the Thames Valley, where it was often filmed, can do that to a bloke!
I remember Ursula Howells from so many places...notably Miss Marple, but Allyn, and even the old B&W Sherlock Homes with Ron Howard and with a younger John Nettles in Bergerac.
Although I've seen almost all episodes except for the new ones, I'm still to unfamiliar with most of the actors. And if some images on the internet are incorrectly labeled, one simply adopts these mistakes. I'll correct all errors with an update video.

I wonder what kind of Whovian would remember Barry Jackson playing with William Hartnell??? And Renee Asherson was with Ursula Howells in the Miss Marple story. Very pretty when young...
