I feel like Hosea is the one character who could kill someone in camp and nobody would question it, simply because of how respected he is
And Ms Grimshaw
@@vermilion6667 karen but she was drunk at the time
I mean Dutch was too, he basically did that over and over again and some people still excused it
Dutch Hosea miss Grimshaw and Arthur basically. They're hold unquestionable authority. When you play domino with Tilly, Arthur told there's once a traitor in camp and Dutch kill him on spot.
If only that could apply with Micah sonner the better.
@@sakinahsaraswati4428 Grimshaw only got away with it because Molly was saying that she ratted out the gang. If she was that respected by the gang, then I'm sure everyone would've turned on Micah when he killed her.
I've never seen Hosea so pissed, and frankly... it scares me.
Jack's life was at danger, the son of 2 of their gang members, they didn't know his whereabouts for a while, and he still kept up a good profile
Honestly, Bill got lucky, Hosea is arguably the oldest gang member, both in terms of age and how long he's been with them, he has seen and fought fights bill could never pull off due to how long he's been in the camp

What's so damn tragic, is that every gang member that died would've sided with Arthur and John.

It was all part of the PLAN
Maybe that was part of Micahs plan? To kill the people that were on Arthur’s side?
@@gold_5600 I feel like somewhat. That whole army think that Charles left for? I feel like Micah planned that. But others, like Kieran? No way. He wouldn't have let Kieran or Sadie join if he wanted them dead anyway. Maybe Sean. But Lenny was a surprise to everyone, anybody could have gone first across that rooftop. Maybe Hosea. Definitely Molly, thought I don't know if she would have sided with Arthur
The Letter 5 molly probably would have left
He would have finished like 10 of the RDR1 missions right there if he shot him.
Ten missions? More like half the game!
Jakepops he wouldn’t have helped the Mexican Revolution, not that it mattered anyway cuz Reyes abused his power
lmao
He would’ve created an alternate timeline too
Danny Edmister can we have that as a dlc? One where both John Arthur AND jack got to live and hangout together?
I love how much Arthur respects Hosea. He always sticks up for him because Hosea basically raised him. So did Dutch but Arthur stopped respecting him as much in Chapter 5
Classic abusive parent/dependent child relationship. Hosea and Dutch used Arthur exactly like a pimp uses a prostitute, until he was plumb wore out. They ruined his life from an early age, and destroyed any chance he might have had for a normal happy existence. Just as in real life, very often the child still clings to the abuser out of misplaced loyalty, because they simply don't know anything else.
The game is full of storylines like that.
@@dogslobbergardens6606 what that was Dutch who did that Hosea kept telling Arthur and John through the game to get out of there and live a normal life
@@dogslobbergardens6606 it's far from an abusive parent/dependent child relationship....ffs arthur barely had a chance in life, especially in those times. his father was a criminal who got arrested and executed, his mother died of illness. hosea and dutch taught arthur how to read, ride a horse, hunt, and shoot. they gave him love. that's more of a chance at life than he would've got as an orphaned street rat by himself.
@@Nevermore093 they made goddamn sure he could never have a normal life and put him in constant life-threatening danger. Manipulating him the entire way.
Yep, that's love and good parenting all right LMAO. You're flat wrong; he'd have had a better chance scrounging for scraps in the street rather than being shot at all the damn time and led around by the nose by career con men. As an orphan street rat there's at least a slim chance someone with genuine morals might have looked after him and led him on a different path.
eh not really arthur was slightly starting to not respect him early as chapter one. i remember a couple times where he was very questionable early on because of the whole blackwater thing especially when nobody would really tell him about it. it was something about dutch killing a girl and arthur said that’s not like him and something soon after can’t remember
''Do what Hosea says!'' that was one of the funniest things i've seen in this game, Hosea telling Bill to just ravage the countryside and Arthur going ''God damnit you heard em!''
And then they bitch about him catching attebtion lol
That was hilarious.
We couldn’t have it revolve around Hosea, because he doesn’t die until now. Each game needs a protag who’s buried before the sequel game.

Thats what I'm thinking too. I don't do much either? Bitch I'm the one that's paying the bills!
chris Lol right? Micah walked around bragging about how much he does for the camp, I’m looking in the ledger and it says he only donated 25 bucks. Like, wooow. I’m regularly donating 200+ bucks and bringing a buck plus small game in all the time, but yeah I’m just so fucking lazy.
@@Norinia more like how everyone donates for the camp. The gang robs bank, train, homestead but hardly any of that money goes for upgrading the camp.
Rahul Sar Lol ikr? Like they’ll all live in squalor if you don’t bother to do anything about them, like I’m watching my dad do in his game lol (he occasionally upgrades ammo and food and medicine, but he won’t touch a single camp living upgrade lol.)
I love this. Hosea doesn’t snap once throughout the entire story line. And this just backs up what a bad ass he used to be, that draw was quick.
I would love to play a RDR3 where it just starts as Dutch, Arthur, and Hosea, and ends with what happened at Blackwater.

One of the things I love about Hosea and Dutch is that they both have two pistols, but while Dutch wears his normally, Hosea wears his cavalry style which makes them easier to draw from a sitting position. It shows that he's always first to sit down and talk things through, but he's always ready in case diplomacy breaks down.
I theorize that Arthur carries his pistols in his manner as to draw subtle influences from Dutch and Hosea. One slung low and ready for a quickdraw, the other in a more difficult drawing position but positioned to show authority should the need arise

Considering this game accurately models pulling the hammer on revolvers, I'd say it's a pretty fair assumption that Hosea was never intending to shoot Bill at any point, he just wanted to show him he was serious.
I like that detail, shows that even at his angriest, Hosea is really just a nice guy who doesn't want people getting in his way.
Yeah, I doubt Hosea would've popped somebody in camp like that for something so small. He just wanted Bill to know that he could
I was going to say while that's true, he had his finger on the trigger, but Hosea rocked dual cattlemans, which were not double action so yeah he had absolutely no intentions of putting a hole in Bill's chest lol.

Hosea was such a great guy. He should have ran the gang, not Dutch.
@@EndOfSmallSanctuary97 I think he and Dutch actually built and ran the gang together. When Hosea died, Dutch alone wasn't enough of a leader to carry the weight but due to his narcissism and intellectual vanity, he couldn't admit any weakness so he started to grow increasingly despotic, aggressive and paranoid instead. Sean basically owes Arthur his life since he was the one that saved his life. Sure, Javier also helped, but the second Arthur mentioned that Micah was the rat? Sean automatically would have joined Arthur. Kieran wouldn’t have been on the same side Micah and Bill were on. Kieran did respect Arthur even with how he was treated by him, even if he wasn’t much of a fighter - he would have known which side to be on. Charles? Well, Charles undoubtedly would have been on Arthur’s side. Charles and Arthur had great chemistry with one another, plus, Arthur did help out Rains Fall’s tribe. Sadie was absent due to getting Abigail and Jack to safety, but I’m sure we all know she was with Arthur till the end. Miss Grimshaw chose to side with Arthur. That means Arthur’s side would have outnumbered Dutch and Micah if only the rest of the main characters made it to the very end.
@@LiterallySpikeSpiegel it would be really cool if someone made art of the standoff with the silhouettes of fallen characters on arthurs side
Felt really bad for Bill. I always felt that if he was given more encouragement and courtesy he might've been able to turn things around. He joked about how all his friends ended up signing back into the army after complaining the entire time about how they wanted to get out but it's clear that he was just as lost for direction in his life as they'd been which is why he was so attracted to the idea of joining up with Dutch. The dude needed some guidance counseling.
Bill got hella encouragement from Arthur and John. John in RDR1 said he respected Bill like an older brother. Bill is acting all lazy. Sure he is dependable and reliable, but he should just have some common sense and work. Even Micah puts in some work and trust me, he gets the same treatment as Bill regardless and worst.
The way he talked about how the army's 'stupid' makes me think he was jealous of his mates who got to go back in while he was discharged and directionless. Ripe pickings for Dutch, really.
I love how Hosea twirls his gun at 2:14. A small and rather unimportant detail you may think. But this is a great symbolic showing what a professional gunslinger Hosea is and why he survived that long. Just shows you dont need dialogue to explain a character, kinda like the Sergio Leone movies back than.
uhm... i think you are overthinking it lol
2:13*
And by the way you’re definitely overthinking it
Thats like, something anyone could/would do. Its literally a single spin. Arthur does an ever fancier one, and hoooo boy, you should really check out metal gear solid sometime.
You can do it too if you double-tap/click the draw button (R1/RB on PS4 and Xbox One, not sure about PC) with your gun out.
Spinning a gun doesn't make you a talented gunslinger lmao. Majority of flashy shootists relying on trick shots and gun twirling were the first to die in gunfights.
Hosea would have taken Arthur’s side
If Hosea was alive There wouldn’t be no choosing sides 😢, he was the voice of reasoning
Carlos Molina nah there wouldn’t be no sides at all cause Hosea is what keep the group together that’s partly why Dutch lost his shit and went crazy because of Hosea death
Carlos Molina I don’t think it would be Arthur’s side it would be Hosea’s side if he was alive
All of the characters who died in this game would've sided with Arthur and John. Josea, Lenny, Sean, Susan. Heck even Molly probably would've. Charles, Pearson, Mary Beth, Uncle, Karen and Swanson would've if they hadnt left.
Carlos Molina absolutely
Hosea: _Tell him, Arthur!_
Arthur: *Do what Dad says.*
That’s the vibe😂🤣
For real tho hosea is like the grandpa who asks rhetorically most of the time

You can also do it by double tapping the draw gun button
MrBossFTW would have turned this into a 10 minute video with 69 ads on it
Yeah he probably would😂
I would get drunk and sleep it off 🤣🤣
He’s confirm rdr3 and that he does in fact have a copy of it as well.
As you can see here hosea is antagonizing bill which probably refers to the Easter egg of the aliens found on the mountains. And what other game had a mountain GTA so what hosea is saying is that GTA is in the same universe as red dead
Yeah he would also go on to confirm RDR3 .
He almost done us a favour.
If you know you know
Half of RDR 1 would disappear
Agreed, the only targets would be Javier and Dutch.
You know Hosea is one of the most chill members of the gang but he puts his foot down precisely and quickly when he has to remind people who Dutches right hand man is
Hosea scaring the man out of bill will forever be my favourite hidden dialogue
That's what made bill gay
How is it hidden dialogue though. It happened on my current play through and I’m curious what causes it
@@michaelwagner30 more like missable if you don’t pay attention to camp conversations.
People really underestimate how much work it takes to implement these interactions seamlessly into a video game. This is the gold standard of a sandbox videogame.

No wonder Bill went the way he did. He felt useless and finally found something and someplace that made him seem like he had some power for once. I kinda feel bad ;(
ICE King he was a lazy bastard who didn’t do shit
Thomas Raines he planned the valentine bank robbery mostly he also did stage coach robberies i think a couple you could go with him and he went on jobs to make money
Thomas Raines if you say he didn’t do shit you might as well say john didn’t do shit lmao
He bullied a few people in the camp whilst being completely useless unless Dutch tells him to do something. He's basically a mix between Micah and Uncle and in RDR1 he's been an even bigger douchebag, I didn't fell bad for him at all, fuck him.
Cybernik The Robot In my opinion after the bank robery they did togheter even Arthur started to see Bill as a Brother after all, in fact i don't Think Bill was ALL bad like RDR 1 during the Second game, i think it was his Time with Crazy Dutch and Micah that turned Bill into a rapist murderer like the one we see during the first game.
Like Dutch too, Dutch during the first game kills innocents without a flint, while on the second when Javier tells Arthur that dutch killed a hostage Arthur says that It isn't Dutch way of doinh thing and that he never kills unnocent folk. So again, It was Micah who turned Dutch in the savage killer we see on the first game.
With the overwhelming postive response to hosea's character, i could see rockstar making a game with Hosea as the main protag. Maybe during the earlier days of dutch's gang and when arthur was in his late teens - early 20s.
@@Vomer0 Honestly they could basically remake the GTAV story with Red Dead. Play as Dutch, Hosea and Arthur and start the gang.
And have it end with the blackwater ferry heist
that will never happen

Actually the holster position Hosea has is very good for quick drawing during sitting. It fits Hosea so well. Hosea isn't a fighter he's more of a diplomat sitting doing the talking. So this kind of holsterpositioning is perfect for when the talking goes sour and he has to act quick. This man is a professional in all aspects.
Hosea was like a father to everyone in the camp. Loved him ❤
