Reminds me of a real life thing, a guy was supposed to be sentenced to 20 years, or more I cant wholly remember… and the state ‘forgot’ to actually send him to jail So officially he was in jail technically… but he wasn’t, and when they went to let him out they found he wasn’t there and never had been So then they went and wanted him to serve his time even though after the time had passed, but luckily the court found it wasn’t the man’s fault and that serving his sentence was unnecessary as he was very obviously a changed man There’s more detail to it if you find the RUclips story about it somewhere… I think searching up about “guy who they forgot to send to jail” might bring it up idk
You can always do it and free him at the hanging by shooting the rope prior to the lever being pulled. It'll make you wanted instantly, but there's actually unique dialogue for it not shown in this clip - Arthur (and I presume John too) tells him to run and take care of his boy
@@خمسدقائقدعوية In real life reality not too worth it. We save a fugitive because feel pity on his family, but the lawmen killed there also have one too. But it's just a game, so yes, it's worth it. We can see interesting scene.

It's very interesting to see the obvious duality between John Marston & Mark Johnson, and then notice the comment section's willingness to condemn one but not the other. Like don't get me wrong I'm not saying anyone is wrong for having no qualms about bringing in Mark, I just find it funny that most of those same people will condemn Ross for doing the same a decade later at the end of RDR1. Really shows how much you're willing to overlook when you like a person.
I always wondered why people with that kinda bounty hang and don't a chance to pay it or (for some honor or a side-story) have the player pay the bounty on their behalf. Like Arthur shoots up Valentine and Strawberry, gets $100 bounty and gets to spend a night in jail. Logic much.
I laughed at the sad story. When I saw this game try to pull my heartstrings after all the stuff it put me through I just went: "SHUT UP,GET ON MY HORSE! 25$ IS 25$! I'D HAVE DONE IT FOR 5!"
On one play through, I shot the wife to see if there was any specific dialog, and oh boy, it felt awful. At one point, when taking him to jail, I think I even said "it was for science" out loud while he was on the back of the horse calling me a monster.
I set him free after hog tying him and his family ran into the woods and he followed. I followed them until i realized i actually did need to catch him cause he was saying the dialogue that he was supposed to say when you're picking him up lmao. I also never had to fight his gang cause Arthur's already said the dialogue of him breaking his neck when i recaptured him for some reason.
Actually, that boy is one of the street kids in St. Denis! And he'll lead you into a trap where you will be robbed by a big crew! (that's not repeating charactermodells, that's a dramatic turnout xD) Holy sh*t it's totally resembling John Marston. I mean: John Marston, Mark Johnson... It's so obvious!!!
When they started chasing I turned around to shoot and ended up in that ravine where the little bridge was. I flipped on dead eye just in time for 2 of them to run straight into the side of the bridge and go flying over me 😂😂
It’s not that sad when you soon realize he planned on escaping anyway. I didn’t feel so bad after his first (his gang tried to bully me to let him go) and second (he untied himself and tried to run away) attempts failed.
It's one thing to randomly murder travelers and townspeople, but rdr2 showed me I don't have the heart to be evil. These missions really test your ability to be cold and heartless. I finished the game with high honor because even in a game, I didn't have the capacity for abject cruelty.
I actually turned and walked away, even heard the Mom say "He's giving us clemancy!", and then after a few more steps, I failed the mission. So, with no choice, I took him with me....only to get ambushed, I was like "YOU SON OF A BITCH! I WAS GONNA LET YOU GO!"
They thought of everything ALmost 5 years and still discovering new things almost daily, if RDR3 ever gonna happen I wish they take their time with it .
I tried to leave em be tbh, but the mission failed 😔 But it's alright in the end. If you go back to where you deliver him, you can save him from execution and he lives (though costs you honor).
You can understand why those with a conscience and regret don’t even want to turn themselves in… back then going to prison was it’s own death sentence. It was making a new rail way… it was locked away with corrupt guards and roaming dangerous inmates.
Did this again recently and since I couldn't let him go nor walk away I waited until the hanging and shot the cops/rope. It's kinda funny as Sheriff Thomas needs to be alive for the story but...screw it, the deputy can give Sadie the Del Lobo bounty missions, the Mark was trying to find redemption if you just let him be or let him pay off the dang $25 lol.
This is kind off a stretch but since everybody else is noting the similarities between Mark and John... When you kill the three men that tried to free Johnson and Arthur says "And look what's happened. Dead because of you.", I couldn't help but be reminded of the first game where John Marston is out to bring three of his former-gang members to justice (Bill, Javier, and Dutch). The quote is also applicable to John since those three do meet their end through John's actions, whether directly or indirectly. Agent Ross in the first also makes a point out of this, especially with Dutch after he shoots his corpse with John's gun.
The saddest part is how this bounty mirrors John's arc. Shows an alternative way his story would end

Honestly I felt bad but at the same time I just thought about the people he likely killed in the Stage and Train robberies and then I didn't feel as bad.
Arthur does the same exact thing
" you could've gotten your neck broke... prematurely" lmao i never noticed he saId that before
There's one outcome missing. If you don't let him say his farewells, does the gang still attack you, since he didn't get time to give his son instructions?
He cuts the rope while you ride towards town and you have to lasso him again.
Nope. If you just lasso him, you don't get attacked. He still slips the rope, but that's all that happens.
You're right
@@samclark9367 actually you get attacked as well, i lasso him he tries to run then his gang comes to attack
Same for me nothing
I wish you could leave them alone without failing the mission
Oh yeah. Instead of saying good bye to his family he whispered in his son's ear by telling him to let know his doormats to ambush Arthur while they were on their way to Rhode's sheriff. Well thought. Too bad for him it didn't work for they were deal with the legend of the east Arthur Morgan! And he would say to Arthur "I'm a changed man"
Was part of an old gang, now lives a comfortable and regular life with his wife and son, former criminal. If you switch his name around you get John Markson. Wonder who this reminds me of?
His gang ambushes you right after you arrest him. He aint a changed man, he still runs with his gang. No mercy from me.
did not know that it was possible to kill his wife, he thought the mission would fail
I tried to kill the kid and it failed me
One reason it's the saddest is you SHOT the dude's wife. You made up for it though by pistol-whipping the sheriff and his men at the end.
What if he shot the son...

LOL, In the video Arthur manages to get a bounty on himself that's larger than the one on the guy he went after.
2:40 the horse be shittin💀💀
THERE IS NO WAY THAT WHEN I TAKE 10 MINUTES TO WRITE A GOOD COMMENT I GET NO LIKES AND I JUST RANDOMLY GOT 107 LIKES
Because, you’re thinking too hard into things, ppl are quite simple minded in general..
If they hang a man with the price of $25, how on earth did Hosea talk me free with the price of $650?
Hosea has his ways
“Bounty’s and bounty mister don’t take it so personal.” As he shot his wife.
I felt so bad for this guy as he was willingly turning himself in to me. The halfway to the cell and he has three guys ambush me. Let's just say we had a swim in the nearby river for that one....
I don't really have sympathy for this guy, he started a family and either then robbed one or more trains, or after he had done so. Then he kept up with his buddies in the event he needed them to kill for him, because they're killers, and he is too. Then he involves his son in the attempted murder of any bounty hunter that came for him, using deception to play on their good will, this is after he's pushed his son to continue trying to mount a horse he's clearly not big enough for... for hours, which is not the biggest of his sins, but it shows what kind of father he is.
And on top of all this, _he's_ _a_ _racist_
While I wish he could have redeemed himself, he didn't even come close, let alone to be forgiven.
Never done this bounty. Does he have racist dialogue that isn't in this video?
@@noah-xt9tx I mean other than him being a Lemoyne Raider or talking positively about his time in a white supremacist antebellum south gang? I mean the vibes are a bit off otherwise but I think being part of a white supremacist gang does it.
@andrewryan8507How is it odd that dutch isnt racist
He was making his son be a man it's the old west
Weird thing with this bounty. If you have the encounter where his friends try and rescue him and then go back and kill his wife, Johnson doesn't say anything and the kid doesn't react to it at all
i didnt knew he would call others to ambush you. when i did this, i immediately lassoed him without answering accept or decline. i felt bad the whole ride back to the sheriff. so i had to look this one up. thank you
He still doesn’t get a happy ending if you save him from a hanging….he rides off to Saint Denis if you follow him and he gets executed there
For my part Mark Johnson's friend don't come to me when i accept his request...
“You might not see him again”
*starts smirking*
Well i Shot his wifee sooooo yeah😈
I remember i was fast travelling from and back to rhodes so i can get the scene of his execution just to save him- only to realize i couldn't reach for my gun so i couldn't save him in the very last moment as i wanted.
After quick restart i never got this event ever again, so it seems by accident i served myself something i gave o'driscolls few chapters later.
What do you mean you couldn't reach for your gun?
Reminds me of a real life thing, a guy was supposed to be sentenced to 20 years, or more I cant wholly remember… and the state ‘forgot’ to actually send him to jail
So officially he was in jail technically… but he wasn’t, and when they went to let him out they found he wasn’t there and never had been
So then they went and wanted him to serve his time even though after the time had passed, but luckily the court found it wasn’t the man’s fault and that serving his sentence was unnecessary as he was very obviously a changed man
There’s more detail to it if you find the RUclips story about it somewhere… I think searching up about “guy who they forgot to send to jail” might bring it up idk
This is the one mission I couldn’t do. I just can’t.
You can always do it and free him at the hanging by shooting the rope prior to the lever being pulled. It'll make you wanted instantly, but there's actually unique dialogue for it not shown in this clip - Arthur (and I presume John too) tells him to run and take care of his boy
@@Jovenfeliz killing the Sherif and executioneer just to save one life 😅
@@Eza_yuta worth it
@@خمسدقائقدعوية In real life reality not too worth it. We save a fugitive because feel pity on his family, but the lawmen killed there also have one too. But it's just a game, so yes, it's worth it. We can see interesting scene.
I have no sympathy for him after he had his guys jump me
You forgot the scene where you shoot his son instead, and he gives you the best "NOOOO!" ever.
??? You can't do that.
@@AshwinY I need to re-download RdR2 again. I could have sworn that you're able to shoot both the wife and son, and he pretty much cusses you out until his buddies show up to spring him. I might be conflating two different missions though.
I think you're mixing up the drunk and abusive debtor near the Lannahechee River with this guy. You can kill the drunks son for sure
The dad and sometimes the mom be acting like kratos, “Boi”
If you ask Alden about Mark Johnson Alden says that he killed his other son so don’t feel bad for this guy
Fun fact. Mark johnson (MJ). John Marston (JM). Initial reverted. Mirrored situations how JM fate will be 🤷🏻♂️
WTF starts crying at 3:32 ?! Anyone else hear that ?
I always wondered why people with that kinda bounty hang and don't a chance to pay it or (for some honor or a side-story) have the player pay the bounty on their behalf. Like Arthur shoots up Valentine and Strawberry, gets $100 bounty and gets to spend a night in jail. Logic much.
Pretty sure that's just suspension of disbelief for gameplay purposes
It's a game bro. Most people don't survive getting shot
@Luke Morgan so what if it's a game? That doesn't excuse the game mechanics having a hole like that
I laughed at the sad story. When I saw this game try to pull my heartstrings after all the stuff it put me through I just went:
"SHUT UP,GET ON MY HORSE! 25$ IS 25$! I'D HAVE DONE IT FOR 5!"
Based

Horse casually taking a dump while the bounty whispers in his sons ear
On one play through, I shot the wife to see if there was any specific dialog, and oh boy, it felt awful. At one point, when taking him to jail, I think I even said "it was for science" out loud while he was on the back of the horse calling me a monster.
when you say all the outcomes you showed us ALL the outcomes fr. Thanks man :D
I tied up the wife and son and threw them both in the lake. Mr. Johnson was very unhappy with me.
(that's not repeating charactermodells, that's a dramatic turnout xD)
Holy sh*t it's totally resembling John Marston. I mean: John Marston, Mark Johnson... It's so obvious!!!
"There ain't no such thing as forgiveness!"

When they started chasing I turned around to shoot and ended up in that ravine where the little bridge was. I flipped on dead eye just in time for 2 of them to run straight into the side of the bridge and go flying over me 😂😂
John marston
Mark Johson
The mirror of these two, even in their end
It’s not that sad when you soon realize he planned on escaping anyway. I didn’t feel so bad after his first (his gang tried to bully me to let him go) and second (he untied himself and tried to run away) attempts failed.
ash i love the fact you got so angry you pulled out your gun at him
3:03 This looks so unrealistic, that whole scene was weird and freaky at the same time. Puppet heads ..
3:04 play it on 2x speed and it sounds like she is crying
It's one thing to randomly murder travelers and townspeople, but rdr2 showed me I don't have the heart to be evil. These missions really test your ability to be cold and heartless. I finished the game with high honor because even in a game, I didn't have the capacity for abject cruelty.
I put him on my temporary horse while I ride the main one. And I cut straight through the woods to Rhodes, guess his gang couldn't find me then😂
I don't get the people who think his decision was dumb or selfish. It's the same thing the gang would've done for Arthur if he was caught
Oh my goodness the parellels between john him are crazy
I actually turned and walked away, even heard the Mom say "He's giving us clemancy!", and then after a few more steps, I failed the mission.
So, with no choice, I took him with me....only to get ambushed, I was like "YOU SON OF A BITCH! I WAS GONNA LET YOU GO!"

When his gang attacked me... I came back to his wife and killed her
This mission is so hard to do
I once tried to let him go free after confronting him but the game gave me a game over screen because of it
I tried to leave em be tbh, but the mission failed 😔
But it's alright in the end. If you go back to where you deliver him, you can save him from execution and he lives (though costs you honor).
Only for a few miles he gets killed in Saint denis by the law
