He was probably using manual transmission, just downshit at the start of a corner, you'll get more backfire, more wheelspin and more angle!

I play Grid 2 and i've never seen a car slide so so much like that: did you somehow turn off the TC or something?
I've modified weight, gears, topspeed, tire presure, wheel stand aswell as some other things. You can do that with an editor ^^
