There's actually specific "leathers" for downhill longboarding that are made specifically to fit the form of a downhill tuck. They can be anywhere from $400-$2000 depending on the brand, features, and if it's custom fit or not.
You can actually see he's wearing G-Form protector shorts, and I'd say he has knee protectors under those jeans too, but yes, I'd probably put on a leathersuit on doing that.
Unless it just got knocked out of the way, at those speeds its hard to tell, but i do think a well placed pebble could probably eff him upp ! If he doesnt get his timing right he could go flying out of a corner face first over a small concrète barricade down the mountain....

@Dat While that might be true, it's highly unlikely for him to be ragdolled, even going 40-50 mph, most of the time, as long as the board doesn't immediately stop (like if he ran into a retaining wall), he would keep balance for at least a second, and allow himself to get into a position so he can slide on the pucks and his shoes so as not to get injured fatally. That said, it is a dangerous game that longboarders play, but I'm sure none of them want to die, and have other, more subtle safety measure in place to protect against serious injury.

Man that was epic riding. I used to be a skater back in the day and I remember going down a highway with some buddies we were going about 45miles a hour. It was a adrenaline rush for sure.

That's because the cameraman was doing the exact same thing as the lead rider, except also holding a camera perfectly balanced. Granted, he was wearing stabilizers, but can you imagine doing what we saw that guy do, plus wearing stabilizers on your shoulders and waist to mount the camera?
What board is this? I love my longboard for how it can handle bigger hills and also huge bumps in the city and remain stable. Only problem is it’s too big sometimes yk? Any help would be appreciated. That takes little to no balls whatsoever. What these skateboarders are doing not a lot of people can do. Anybody can lift dumb bells, ride a bike and pedal but not everybody is in for the true adrenaline rush when it comes to life or death. Props to the skaters 😎

That's because the cameraman was doing the exact same thing as the lead rider, except also holding a camera perfectly balanced. Granted, he was wearing stabilizers, but can you imagine doing what we saw that guy do, plus wearing stabilizers on your shoulders and waist to mount the camera?

What board is this? I love my longboard for how it can handle bigger hills and also huge bumps in the city and remain stable. Only problem is it’s too big sometimes yk? Any help would be appreciated. It HAS to be super stable because I love using it down huge hills, but it ALSO has to be SUPER good at riding over bumps and cracks that you see often in the city and places with rough rough terrain

That takes little to no balls whatsoever. What these skateboarders are doing not a lot of people can do. Anybody can lift dumb bells, ride a bike and pedal but not everybody is in for the true adrenaline rush when it comes to life or death. Props to the skaters 😎
