The elimination was definitely the "cherry on the top" for this video. The soundtrack helped a lot to make it feel as tense as it should be! Also, it's nice to see how GRID 2 would be without the Drift-2-Win mechanics, cheers!
Grid 2 had the most intense racing feeling despite its weird physics, and a solid soundtrack to top it off. Wish more games were like it, Grid Legends doesn't come close.

Unpopular opinion. Grid 2's drifting physics are the best part about the game and make the game stand out amongst the masses. Perfect game to listen eurobeat to.
It was always coded like that every single 12 car eliminator race lol. Even though it only takes 4 minutes to finish (including the preparation phase).
This makes the game look much more fun to play. I once tried this game and it just felt boring drifting all over effortlessly. Might give it another go now

Really nice mod wish they went with thses physics rather then B2D. Man Gird 2 and Dirt 3 were two of my favourite codemaster racing games wish they still made them like this.

It is sad the Codies thought mixing Dirt's physics with asphalt racing was making sense. Thing is, gripping constantly is already possible, which is slower for around 20-30%. (Not to be considered for granted, have not opened the game since last year.) All it takes is accelerating less during corners, lighter turning, red-lining and low revs. Still, with game's physics multiplayer was one really fun and hardcore experience. Sucks it suffered from plague known as rammers.
i remember it went free on steam or cost something like 2 dollars i got it and a couple of dlcs, found the first couple online races very intensive and nice experience, couple races later found out why the game actually was so bad, nobody could race cleanly, nor watch you overtake them, constant ramming... not fun at all. deleted the game after 2 days...
I personally didn't mind the arcade physics - in fact I found them very enjoyable, but yeah... wrong game to use them on. Especially when the AI did not utilize it. You'd literally have to drift to oertake them as they drive circuit-style, and this broke from the immersion.. you were the black sheep inside that pack. This mod however does make it look like you're on equal terms with the opponents, and need to utilize the same driving style as they are in order to best them. This is actually the handling they should've gone for - it would've spared them from all the hate the game received. As for that arcadey drift handling.... it would've been a GODSEND for some illegal/midnight-club/nfs style racing games, with less opponents and more crazy drifting around with damage.

I don't know if you saw his other videos where he raced some other skilled players in multiplayer, but them doing twin-drifts on corners and having a downright Initial-D-worthy battles were just amazing. If they used Grid 2's arcade handling for some underground-like street racing game with fewer opponents, open city, customization and cops - I would've loved it.
I just tried this mod out a bit ago and while it's fun, it makes every car with "drift" handling undriveable due to them losing total control over any slightest traction loss (which will happen when you enter a corner at high speed). The author does list this under the known issue section, didn't think it'd be this severe until I got my hands on it myself. Doubt it'll get fixed anytime soon.
Grid 2 is awesome. Sure, it doesn’t QUITE live up to it’s predecessor but it’s one of the better games in the series. The graphics, the presentation, even the handling model isn’t that bad once you get used to it! It’s by far one of the most underrated racing games I’ve ever played.

The very first race was beautifuly tense while the last one was incredibly close. The R8 one was just... The AI felt the squeeze.

I didn't remember Grid 2 racing being so intense! I almost fell out of the chair of the epics that were.
Switch it HARDEN mode and you will see how good some of drivers in this game

Absolutely agree. This kind of physics would have been more suitable for an Underground-Style racing game though, rather than a Motorsport-Style one.
Imma give this a try. If there's something that never made me finish Grid 2, surely that was its weird physics.

In Unbound there's body damage, better than Forza but not as good as GRID 2.
