Thank you for your videos. I just received my Mini 3 Pro Costco Bundle, on sale, yesterday, and I am learning everything about drones from your channel. Your presentations seem to be very organized, objective and transparent. I bought a Symik case that I expect to receive, tomorrow, from Amazon, that provided a commission to your channel. So, thank you for that suggestion, too. Now, I need to learn how to fly this thing. I live on my Hilltop 50-acre farm and look forward to keeping tabs on my property, which contains woodlands and corresponding wildlife. Again, thanks! Blessings
I like the way you always give honest reviews of various products, Russ. I love my M3P and the RC and the Fly More Kit. I will leave it all stock. No accessories needed. I am saving to buy the Mavic 3 Classic. Cheers from Wisconsin, buddy.
Hey. I don’t mind the captions. It makes it easier for those who are deaf (I am hearing but I am thinking of those who are deaf). Also,I enjoyed the video. Thanks for the content and hard work.
those black prop guards look just like the one that came out with the mini 1 fly more package....I have a set myself..not sure if they fit the 3 as haven't picked up one yet
Great video! Thanks! I have the Nanuk case - it came with my Mini 3 Pro as part of a holiday package deal from B&H Photo. It’s excellent! By the way, I do not have to remove the eyebolts for the STARTRC neck strap when I put the RC Controller in the Nanuk case. The controller sits rotated 90 degrees from the STARTRC case and there is plenty of room next to the controller for the eyebolts. There isn’t a cutout for them, so they make little dents in the foam, but that’s not a big deal to me. (I wish I could attach a picture.) Back to the STARTRC goodies. They sell a different propeller guard that is a hard shell for the bottom half and the strap that goes over the top. I have that and I like it. They also sell a really nice Gimbal / Camera / Avoidance Sensor cover. Amazon sells the gimbal cover for $13 and the propeller guard for $10, but you can get them together as a set for $20 and save three bucks. Plus, the set is currently on sale at Amazon for $16 if you use the $4 coupon. Everything still fits nicely in the case with the guards attached. I have been quite happy with my STARTRC accessories. As far as the Nanuk case goes, it is expensive compared to some of the other cases available. (Like I said earlier, it came with the kit I bought from B&H, so it didn't cost me much.) It does not come with a strap; you have to buy the strap separately. But it’s a REALLY nice strap with a well-cushioned shoulder pad that is NOT likely to slip off your shoulder. If the Nanuk case was not part of the package deal, I would have purchased it anyway. It is that good.
I have the StartRC hard case and love it. I have the mini3 and its my first drone. I wish it had more room for accessories but as far as a good quality case I use the drone on the boat at work and have really put the case through the ringer. I have dropped the case I have gotten it wet and it has always kept my drone safe. I'd recommend it all day.
Love the honesty. I know I get stressed when I'm reviewing my free samples and either I find things about the wine or winery that seems sketch or the wine is poorly made. I try to be honest but not be a jerk about it. Sometimes it may come across as a bit snarky though.
Hi..is a landing gear with LED lights a bad idea? Something to make it easier to see the drone when flying in grey days and grey skies? Not even for night flying really...or will they be too bright and affect the camera (more if I point the camera straight down) or even affect the downward sensors? Just wondering...or maybe there is another solution? I got several accesories from this list for my Mini 4 pro. Happy with them. Thanks
I bought the DJI prop guards the day they were released. They are very sturdy and well made. And heavy. I previously had prop guards like the ones in your video. They are not nearly as sturdy. Plus they do not pass for giving the proper protection as mandated by the FAA for people flyover. They do not protect from the top. Thanks for the video.
I went to turn the captions off and got two sets of captions. Thanks Russ! Great product "review" though. I know what not to buy. And where NOT to mount my strobe. Because aircraft above me doesn't need to see me...
Purchased this case and very pleased with. I noticed in your video as I did you attempted to place the controller in the case backwards the top of the controller should face the front edge of the case. My eyelets for my lanyard fold in so all fits very well. While I appreciate and enjoy your videos (very informative) and I am a subscriber to your channel maybe jumped a little quick on some points made,
Thanks, good information. I already have the prop guards for flying indoors mostly, a hard case, and ND filters, however I did order the prop strap as the propellers are hard for me to keep in while putting in the case, and I also ordered the landing gear, and while looking at those I saw a gimbal cover that looked neat, however, I will have to decide what I will actually use once I get them.
I just came across your videos last night cuz I purchased myself and mini drone H98-Pro black I just took it out today to try to do what I saw your video last night showing how to hover and go up 7 m and everything every time I try to go up it drifts to the left at a good speed is there a problem do you think with the system or am I doing something wrong to just to try to give it get it the hover to go up only?
New guy here and enjoying your videos! Do you know if I can buy the Symik aluminum bracket alone? I was going to try the 2 screw type until I saw this. Thanks!
Hi Russ, I just purchased a DJI Mini 2 and I've watched about a dozen of your video and yours are the best!!! I have a question for you. I'm think about getting a strobe and getting a remote ID for the up coming rule. By adding the two devices on my drone it will probably weigh over 250 g. so am I suppose to register my drone at that point? Thanks for your great videos.
Get rid of the captions. Can already do that if I want to. Also, those accessories; landing gear, prop guards etc, won’t they put the weight over the magic 250g? It’s not a problem if they do and you are OK with that, it’s just that you did not mention it
Russ I enjoy your video's, but would like to ask your advice on a couple of Mini 3 Pro matters. Do you have another contact point to ask such questions?
Can confirm the propeller guards will make you crash if going with any amount of speed. If you are going any faster than a bump against the wall, it’s going down
Unless you're a navy seal, dropping out into combat from the back of a humvee, even the stock DJI case should be fine. More expensive cases are complete overkill. Ive had my drone for about 6 months and taken it bike packing without any issues... except for trees.
I don't see the foam insert on the case as being a gig on it, so much as something to be aware of with how it is likely to be handled. For most people, I think the question is how well they protect from an accidental drop or something like careless baggage handling. The EVA foam in my FPVTosky hard case seems excessively firm for that, but I don't doubt it will work as intended. Softer foam might better pass an egg test for example and still be just as effective. But when I think about all of the times I have dropped my phone and it has survived, I question how much that difference really matters. :P
What question are you gonna be doing close captions all the time? I hope not because people can turn that on already if they want to, and my brain doesn’t allow me to watch and have words at the bottom, because then I have to read the words and then I can’t see the video I know it’s my own problem I’ll figure it out😂
Unless the regulation changes or dji comes out with a smaller lighter battery, adding prop guards puts the Mini 3 Pro overweight to be able to fly over people.
I have the landing gear coming on Thursday. Thanks for the video. DJI should have provided a better setup for the bottom of the drone. That is my only complaint about the 3 Pro.
Where do you get the mounting bracket for the controller? Thanks!
Russ gets sent free stuff and proceeds to honestly say what he doesn’t like about it 😀 Love this guy!

I bet StartRC were pleased with sending this set out for review.

I got this same StarTRC box and goodies for close to $100 and am perfectly happy with it. Convenient package order, all works fine.
I bought one. And I'm satisfied with quality/cost.
Thanks for the honest review, it’s hard to tell these days who is doing a paid commercial and who is behind straight up honest with their audience.
Thank you so much for such an honest review.
Excellent Accessories Video. Thank You Russ.
Thanks, Russ
You and Darren are the best
I didn't know prop guards existed, thanks for the recommendation, have ordered from your link :-) Might try some riskier low level flying now
Thanks! Just switched out the hard case in my Amazon basket to Symik.
You won’t be disappointed!

I love an honest review. Thanks!!
Thanks for the tip on the landing gear strobe idea...actually thanks for all your videos.

Good review Russ.
Great video. Honest opinion. Thanks
Great video! Thanks!

Thanks for the video, …I returned my hard case and bought the suggested case you recommended,
Over the years the Only extras I found I need with any drone is more batteries.
Better to spend your money for more time in the air.
That’s not a bad attitude to have!
Very good and honest preview of that case. Thankful for info👊👋
Spectacular Video Russ! Very Helpful! Highly Recommended Your Channel!👍👍👍
What about the 2 type of lights how are they the starrc and owl night light

What is a good drone you can buy without registering it thanks
Love the honesty. I know I get stressed when I'm reviewing my free samples and either I find things about the wine or winery that seems sketch or the wine is poorly made. I try to be honest but not be a jerk about it. Sometimes it may come across as a bit snarky though.
Where did you get the mounting bracket from? The one that attaches to the bottom of the RC controller? Can you provide a link or any info please.

DJI sells a Fly More combo for the M3P, but not for the Mini 3. What would be incompatible in that kit for the Mini 3?
Thank you Russ! ;-) T

Fairly stated. I still don’t like that weak foam as it tends to shed apart the more it’s used.
Great video 👍 thank you for sharing this 😊 I prefer FREE WELL filters for the reasons you said "quality"
Potensic ATOM SE Combo GPS Drone Quadcopter with 4K ShakeVanish Camera Less Than 249g, do you have to register it. Thanks

This might be the last time we see you review StartRC!
Maybe. They have a lot more stuff that may be of value.

*VIDEO SUGGESTION* For you.... Gimbal protectors that allow protection while transporting, flying, and aerial photography!
I'm just waiting to see if the googles 2 will be compatible with the mini 3 Pro before pulling the trigger on buying one
That would be nice!
I really like the landing gear! Is there a landing gear for the Mini 2 that allows you to attach the Lume Cube strobe to the bottom?
Yes, they actually make ones that light up for the Mini 2. I’m not sure of the quality though.
@@51Drones Thanks Russ.
New guy here and enjoying your videos! Do you know if I can buy the Symik aluminum bracket alone? I was going to try the 2 screw type until I saw this. Thanks!
The prop guards that I have gotten from DJI for the mini series have always been super fragile. I couldn't handle them without the supports breaking.
I'm trying to find w h at edit software you use.
Premiere Pro
So would you recommend using the ND 16 for beginners?
It’s a good start.

Woohoo
10:55 now you tell me!? 😜
Yes! I was the first view! Hi Russ!!
Don't fly at all if you need prop guards.
Thank you fine sir..

It’s an experiment. People bitch when I don’t do it and people bitch when I do. 🤷🏻♂️
Super 51

✅✅✅✅✅
I hope they didn’t give you anything other than just that $100 set that you reviewed because this was a Symik sponsored video lol
I still think that you get what you pay for.
I have the landing gear coming on Thursday. Thanks for the video. DJI should have provided a better setup for the bottom of the drone. That is my only complaint about the 3 Pro.
