In this video, my friend Huli and I take on the Honingklip 4x4 trail here in the Western Cape, South Africa. Huli is here with his stock Jeep Wrangler Sahara JKU and I’m here with my Jeep Wrangler 2 door JK with a 2.5” lift and 35” tires. I made this video to show you how two different Jeeps take on the obstacles differently. I’ve also been wanting to test out my 35” tires on a trail to see if they will rub up against the stock fenders.

🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾That was awesome bro, thanks
Keep those revs constant and you'll sail up those obstacles with LSD. Use the footwell wall next to the accelerator as foot support to help hold your revs constant.
To crawl downhill in 4L put the auto in 1st gear and click the hill descent button. Traction control system will get you down by automatically applying and releasing brakes. All you have to do is steer. It's pretty incredible and almost makes things too easy :P
Fun day out man! Can’t wait for the next one 👊🏽
Nice Vid Dylan! Illustrates nicely how the systems in each model is used.
@@xcpointx thanks a lot for that advice, learning everyday 😁🙏🏾
@@danodt Thanks Dano! Appreciate the comment.
I own a 4 doors JK Rubicon 2017 lifted with 35' tires ,I enjoy every single ride ❤
So nice to see how capable a stock 4door sahara really is, now i feel even better about owning a stock 2door ✌️
Just 2 bros having fun
Momentum is your friend......lol Great video bud!!
Thanks for the comment ! Yes momentum is helpful and good to learn to know when and how to use it 🙂
Goeie môre! Nice video brother! Got a 2016 Rubicon. As soon as my 32's wear, it's gonna be on 35" Ko2's.
Awesome video thank you. Amazing what a stock Sahara can do especially on those tires.
a lifted 4 door versus a stock 2 door would have been an interesting comparison as well.
Having loads of fun with your new TAKKIES!!!
Yes lots of fun 😁😁
My first time watching your video and I subbed after watching this one. Keep this style coming, they are worth it in my opinion.
There aren’t that many videos of Jeep Sahara doing off-road - Thanks for that !!!
This was fun .. you guys are living your best lives 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
🤗🤗🤗🤗
Thanks for watching !
This was great, love the longer videos where you just let it roll out.
But you can always make shorter promo videos thats a kinda adrenaline shot of the whole trip.
Thats just like a taster.
The 35’s just hits the sweetsoot for any offroad obstacle 🤟🏼🤩
But love the content man 👏🏻🔥
Thanks Hannes! That’s a good idea. And thanks for the feedback! Really appreciated!
Awesome video guys! Props on the Sahara team ✌️ question: Did the Sahara aired down his tires? It doesn’t seem like it.
That looked like great fun 🙌🏽 awesome video!
Thanks for checking it out Dale!
I believe a set of MT tires on the Sahara would have made a world of difference.
Very nice video. I enjoyed it. Want to see more videos with a group of jeeps.
Thanks man! Will do!
Pretty impressive for a stock Sahara with street tires. I have one (JLU Sahara) just with 33" KO2 and it already makes a world of difference. Mods coming up in the next few months.
Thanks for the comment Eric! I’m also impressed with the stock Sahara! It does great. That’s exciting about your mods! What are you getting done ?
@@ajourneyinthewild Lift (2 or 2.5 in), quick discos, rock sliders, steel bumper and winch... eventually diff covers and skids. Nothing crazy, it's my daily driver and I want to keep as much road comfort as possible.
@@OffRoadQC That's awesome ! Enjoy the mods!
@@ajourneyinthewild BTW did you notice a big change on your Wrangler's road manners after getting the lift kit? I guess it depends a lot on the kit itself and the shocks, but I'm asking... I still have to decide what to get...
@@OffRoadQC Because the centre of gravity lifts higher, you can definitely notice that. Not saying it was bad, just feels different to what it did before.
I like the mix of short highlight videos and longer ones like this. For some (like me) I don’t make the time to watch the longer ones as much. That being said, you did a great job on this one and it really showed a comparison of two completely different Jeep’s. Maybe you should do an on-road comparison to even things out. 🤔
Thanks for the feedback Scott! That sounds like a cool idea!
Nice video! My tires are probably in between those tires and they do okay but I think sometimes mud terrains would do better. Cooper AT3 4S. When I'm not in deep mud they're fine and they never slip really.
2 door excelent for off road ❤❤❤❤
What a great run! It looked like a testing trail designed by Jeep. Didn't look like you guys really aired down much, and that makes a huge difference.
Thanks! On this trail we didnt air down as much as usual because of the mud that gets in between the rim and the tire causing the air to leak out - its happened to me about 3 times before on this trail so we usually dont let the air out as much on this trail anymore. Beadlocks would help with that issue though! Cheers :)
@ajourneyinthewild If you ever make it out to Arizona you've got a 4x4 connection here!
@@echristianh Thank you! Will definitely let you know if I make it out that way! :) Same for you if you ever come to South Africa .
These videos are better content don’t get me wrong I am very well in tune to hearing some tunes but these longer ones are showing newbie how their jeep would act in this situation
my head was tilting when your car was going through the mud...
It was pretty steep! Thanks for watching sir
You guys are crazy.
Haha . Slow and steady. Once you do it a few times it doesn’t seems a bad 😄
Lekker guys! Who needs diff lock 😬 Still want to tackle Honingklip 👍
Thanks dude! Yes man, must make a mission soon.
It’s interesting how stock overseas Jeeps have that crazy front bumper that sticks out like a foot.
I was caught off guard at the difference between a stock front bumper from Australia and one from America
You need to adjust your front track bar to center the axle. That is why it is rubbing on one side only.
Hope you will answer. The sahara traction control. Does it work in 4L when you press to switch it on.
Not bad for a stock Sahara, I’m not sure if the Dana 30 front axel can handle this type of trail.
Tires make a world of difference
Where you guys in 4 low or 4 high?
Good rubber will make a huge difference.
I like this video... fairly few commentary and no annoying nonsense music.
Lekker video dude, giving me itchy rubbers to go hit the back country trails.
And what it can really do
A driver from the Rubicon would have driven it on the Sahara. In the orange car, the driver is inexperienced.
Orange jeep needed a lift kit and water tires.
Wouldn't have been modified vs stock video then :D
Dude in the orange jeep has no clue how to drive 🤣🤣🤣
No music is way better
