The tragedy of partial knowledge... Powder had no way of knowing that they had an exit route - she just saw that they were trapped, and she had the means to help. And she was so *happy* that she finally managed to help the group out... And just keep in mind, Powder's also all of *nine* with rather severe attachment issues (internet psychs have largely agreed it's a combo platter of Borderline Personality Disorder, Schizophrenia, and a healthy dose of PTSD due to this particular episode), so she was desperate to prove herself to her big sister after being told she wasn't ready. this episode hooks most people when they first watch it and its embedded into their minds that this show hits very different. usually the start of ep 1 does that but 3 just hits you over the head with it. also an emotionally damaging fact- Arcane released in 3 acts with 3 episodes every week, so when the first 3 came out, everyone was in the dark for about what happens next for about a week before getting episode 4, 5, and 6. same for 7, 8, and 9. another thing i want to point out that i see some people misinterpret is, the monkey bomb explodes once but the show tells the explosion in different perspectives. either way, really happy youre experiencing this since it truly is one of the objectively best shows out there. (objectively because its won so many awards including all 9 annie awards it was nominated for along with several other lesser known awards)
I see, thats good to know! After watching episode 4, it makes sense that episode 3 was the finale of act 1 and now we're onto act 2. That must have been emotionally taxing waiting for a week for the next act 😭 Also, i didn't know it was one explosion. Thought it was multiple. I have to watch that back, thats interesting! Thanks for the insight and all the support homie, i reall do appreciate it! Im glad you're enjoying the reactions!
the power of tragedy. You get to know the characters, you get to see the characters devastated by an event..... now you kinda' just have to know how this story ends. When done right, it's the most powerful story hook imaginable and i think a big problem with a lot of modern media is the writers are afraid of it, they think the audience can't handle a good gut punch. Some people can't, but if you look at the stories that last, an awful lot have moments like this
I 100% agree that Ep. is the absolute penultimate hook episode and that Ep 1 and 2 do a fantastic job leading 3. I found it interesting how Since this whole series was released like a 3 act movie with each 3 Ep chunk being an act. They then did something amazing and mind-melting I feel and then took each 3 Ep. Act and did the same 3 act setup for episodes 1-3, and so on. And they did this with perfection and it really shows in the pacing. My only argument to this thinking I woudl say is Ep 6 and 7
Vi was about to give herself up to the police to protect the others, so she would be the only one arrested bc of the explosion. Vander found out and decided to take her place, they arrested him bc they knew he wouldn't let them take Vi but at the same time they needed to arrest someone bc of this so they had to take the offer of arresting him in the place of the kids
You can't really blame Powder for not listening Vi, she's a kid that grow up having Vi herself as her example and Vi never listens Vander and always did things he tells her not to. All that added to the fact that she's always being bullied by Mylo but protected by Vi telling her things like that she can do things just as them and is ready, and suddendly Vi tells her not to go bc she's not ready for it, that hits hard
Like you said this episode just is crazy from the start and takes you through so many emotions, you feel so elated for Jayce and Viktor finally making a breakthrough with the Hextech and then the end with how things turn out with Power (or Jinx) just leaves you devasted - just so good.
Yeah, this episode especially really grabs you from the start and does not let go until until the credits roll and you’re just sitting there, like WTF JUST HAPPENED?!
Dude, don't blame Powder for being happy, she didn't know they died and she isn't stupid. I get it's frustrating but that doesn't mean she was stupid or has the blame, it was an accident. Don't say "to be fair you killed them", it was an accident and she was punched, verbally attacked at all her known weaknesses on porpoise and, for what she knows, abandoned, she has the right to be angry and try to get protected by the first person she has the chance to. Vi mistreated her bc she was going through the worst moment of her life and couldn't control her emotions, so just as it isn't right to blame her for something she couldn't control, it isn't fair to blame Powder for something she couldn't control neither, she just wanted to help and it accidentally went wrong
Lol, episode 3: when all the trope-bait from the first two episodes is used against you to create the maximum amount of pain. Everyone thinks they can see where this ep is going until they pull out the rug.
Hey. i loved to see how the show finally got to you! getting more immersed and overwhelmed by the feekings, and getting into the characteurs skins: silko and vander, jinx and vi But a really aplaude you for seeing the "it was too easy breaking in" moment, and your "is silko caring or manipulating her or both" was brilliant. it took me weeks to sort it out.
Btw not sure if you've noticed just how much this show likes parallels, Vander/Silco and Vi/Powder, Jayce using hextech to create wonder and Powder using it to create a tragedy. Btw in case you don't know about it, when the show came out it came in "acts" so 3 episodes at a time, so here you've finished the first act
Basically, Vander and Silco both wanted to fight the discrimination of Piltover to get the independency of underground city (what they started to call Zaun), they started a war but Vander ended up thinking it wasn't worth of it bc a lot of people died, Silco still thought that was necessary so the conflict started and Vander betrayed him (tried to kill him). Vander ended up putting the peace first even if that meant to live in horrible conditions and make deals with the people that kills and mistreats them, Silco doesn't agree with this and still wants to be respected and get independency so they can't keep killing them and they living wouldn't be in their shadow anymore, that's a pretty good goal, the problem is that he is capable to do anything to get to that, even if it means death of good people, creating monsters, etc. So, it's not like Silco wants the war, he just believes it is necessary, and he doesn't believe that bc he believes they're superior but bc he's tired of how they're mistreated and kill all the time, his goal is completely right and makes sense, he's just an extremist is what methods refer to. Meanwhile Vander also makes sense for not wanting a war in which many will die and working for peace, but for that he has to make deals with horrible people and allow them to keep doing terrible things to them. The truth is that the best is something in the middle of them both bc while Silco isn't right, Vander isn't neither, ofc war is bad and kills lots of good people, but don't do anything to such repression and stay quiet while it still happens isn't good neither, it would be just as if America never fought wars for their independency and would have stayed conquered by Spain, France, UK and Portugal even when they destroyed them and treated them in horrible ways unfairly, fight them was the right thing to do but it needed death and war unfortunately.

I love how they manipulate people's emotions with crazy highs and crazy lows all being thrown at you one after another. For you to know, those weren't multiple explosions, they showed the same one multiple times to show the damage it was doing in different directions, it was one single explosion.
This episode is one of the most beautiful episodes of television I have ever seen. Tragic, but beautiful none the less. Silco was definitely going to kill Powder. His plan was to kill the sisters. So he asked Powder where Vi was but then Powder quite literally disarmed him, knocking the knife out of his hand as she rushed forward to hug him. “She is not my sister anymore.” Silco FELT that. Silco LIVED that, looking at the dead body of the man that was once his brother and eventually betrayed him. And that starts the eventual parallel to Silco and Vander. It’s so poetic and tragic and amazingly well written. I love this show so much. The writers are incredible, there is such amazing dialogue and plot points and symbolism. What a show. I can’t wait for the next season.
Hey man, take it easy on Powder. She was just a child. She was trying to help and ended up killing her brothers and her father can you imagine how traumatic that would be?
Great reaction! I love that this show is so incredibly well done that you can come in thinking it's going to be eh, and then it just blows all your expectations out of the water. I consider it to be a masterpiece, one of only a few
Thanks so much, i appreciate it yani! and agreed, i went in with low expectations but now i can say that it is 100% blowing me away so far. I can't wait to see how the rest unfolds!
Honestly, Vi _did_ make the right choce to not take Powder, but I wish she had taken her to _someone,_ even if it was just Ekko. Something to have her not be all alone. I'm not blaming Vi, for a 16 yo her reasoning and her composure was pretty amazing and I don't think she realized how deep Powders attachment issues ran, so she did the best she could. It was the responsible thing to do, even if it hurt Powder deeply. And the rest was not something Vi could ever have predicted.
I dont know how I came to this, because I have played league for 10 years. League of Legends is now an allstar brawl game, where the lore is actually extremely deep and complex now. They have hinted at Arcane in their trailers, new voiceline for characters, and artwork... since 2015... That's how far back the League community has dug back to for references for this show.
Went to the store and came back to episode 3 dropped.... And i can see it hit hard with you... Great show even if you hate the game.... Amazing what around 70 million dollars can produce... Also long time no see
Money is not everthing though, thinking of Rings of Power here for example. Lots of passion by both the Riot and Fortiche people involved made this great.
LoL is not only a game, it has lores and a bunch of cinematics too! You can hate the game but I really appreciate if you learn or react to them. It's really interesting I promise!! 😄
After i finish watching Arcane, i might give some LoL cinematics a reaction! I'm just not sure which are the best ones. But i appreciate the support, thank you!
@@KirsharReacts I recommend watching all of em from the start, you can split it to how many parts you want but it's cool to see how it all started with the jank looking animations but they were cool at the time, periodically ramping up the quality until we get the recent ones in the past few years that are absolute bangers
@@KirsharReacts Warriors, Legends Never Die, The Call, Ruination (big event lots of vids) those are the biggest ones. There are a lot of smaller little character vids and stuff too, but those are the big ones, the ones that prelude the theme/story for the seasons, at least since they started doing them. Also if you are interested in lore, check out Necrit's youtube channel in particular this vid, for a quick rehash on lore, he is like the lore king, even got his own character in the Ruined King, so dude is even canonically in the lore now. ruclips.net/video/9ypIpTu3ung/видео.html
Some episode, eh? Episodes 1&2 were like climbing that first hill on a rollercoaster. Episode #3 is that first big drop after the hill. You're in for a ride all the way to the end now. I like how you see the show for what it is... something apart from what the game is. When you are done then you will want to check out the making of series, "Bridging the Rift" on the web. It's excellent and you get to see all of the pure love and effort that went into making Arcane.
The Lanes is the underground part of the undercity. The least privileged where the kids live and where the bar is etc. Thats why Silco described the nation of Zaun as "The whole of the underground, united as one"
Mel isn't chamption, the champtions we have are: Vi, Jayce, Victor, Powder (Jinx), Caitlyn, Heimerdinger, Ekko and that guy that works with Silco, the one who makes the purple liquid.
BTW, the timeline I believe goes the bridge battle in episode 1 caused Vander to adopt Powder and Vi after getting their parents killed and seeing the cost of the war. Seeing the cause get people killed, he betrayed Silco and tried to kill him to stop the war (the drowning scene is between the intro to episode 1 and the rooftop scene in episode 1 in the timeline).
This episode is an emotional blender on frappe. This is one of the most emotional videos that I have ever seen. To quote SAO abridged "Stop kicking my heart in the d!((k!
Sadly Vanders and Silcos histoy is never fully explained, but from what we see, their falling out happened pretty early in life, as Vander looks noticably younger then he did on the bridge in the beginning of the first episode. My guess is that they started to plan together to start a revolution, but Silco became more an more extreme. Maybe he had some sort of Suicide terrorist plan or something that would have sacrificed a lot of people on both sides and Vander decided to stop him instead of risking it.
Wow. For some reason this is the first time I heard and registered it, but when Jayce and Viktor get caught by Mel, Jayce calls Piltover the land of Progress, _equality_ and innovation. Worst thing is that Jayce probably beliefes i, not relising that that equality stops dead center at the Bridge to the Undercity, That _technically still is part of Piltover_
"better not Jinx it" he says.. epic :) love watching S1E3 reactions, because everyone's on the fence till right just "then" (y'all know what i mean).. and if you're not a little teary-eyed by the end of it, there's a sh*t ton you've missed.. thumbs up
Is Vander really keeping the peace or just allowing The Underground to stay stuck in poverty where they'll still suffer/struggle and die from their environment? Don't get me wrong, I love Vander and I get that Silco's methods are extreme but I'd rather go out fighting for change rather than remaining stagnant in my miserable existence where I'm set up to fail from the moment I come into this world.
I agree a bit. Vander wanted to just be a pacafist, lay down, struggle and die. But Silco was too much of a violnt extremist. Both Vander and Silco are both on exteme ends of the spectrum, and both of them are right and wrong in certain ways.
@@KirsharReacts I agree with you, they were both right and wrong in their own ways. I realized after sending my comment that I'm way too biased towards Silco to have this discussion 😂😂 But there's some dialogue that suggests that Piltover had them (at least Silco and Vander's generation) working in the mines from a fairly young age with even worse air quality and bad work conditions so I guess I felt like Silco was justified in his plans towards Topside. Since they won't listen to the complaints from people of the Undercity, maybe they'll actually respond to "the base violence necessary for change".
All I'm hearing at the end there is that good things were happening top side while the undercity suffered. ... Seems about par for the course there, don't you think?
@@KirsharReacts Yeah the thing is from specific lines Vi said like "you're not ready" Powder being so young can't really see the whole picture so she was fixated on that. I think she was going to stay home but when the gemstones fell out she saw an opportunity to be useful and prove herself. Everyone should have thought a little harder about whether or not they should be encouraging a 10 year old to make bombs... That was gonna go bad no matter what.
yeah im not liking marcus at all. not sure what his motives are, but i just know they aren't good. and agreed, i don't care much for LoL but this show is great!
It's not really peaceful when the enforcers still have free reign to gestapo their way through the underground, and when the underground has no political representation. Vander isn't a pacifist. He's a quitter.

either way, really happy youre experiencing this since it truly is one of the objectively best shows out there. (objectively because its won so many awards including all 9 annie awards it was nominated for along with several other lesser known awards)
I see, thats good to know! After watching episode 4, it makes sense that episode 3 was the finale of act 1 and now we're onto act 2. That must have been emotionally taxing waiting for a week for the next act 😭
Also, i didn't know it was one explosion.
My only argument to this thinking I woudl say is Ep 6 and 7
Great reaction. And the show is not getting any worse from here on out.
Thanks so much! Yeah this show is INSANE, i 100% underestimated it. Can't wait to see how everything unfolds!
@@KirsharReacts if you haven't watched it all yet, then you might want to avoid comments for potential spoilers...
Lol, debatable.
Episode 3 is an absolute banger, idk if any worse is true
I hope he is joking bc a 5-6 yo definitely doesn't look like Powder lmao, she's 11-12 confirmed. Vi is confirmed 15 btw.
"Go to bed Powder!"
Lmfao I think you're the first person who from the start didn't think Powder would succeed hahaha
LMAO I just wanted her to be in bed safe, and let the big kids do their thing 😭😭
@@KirsharReacts agreed - she should stay in bed with some hot chocolate and a warm blanket🥺
Vi was about to give herself up to the police to protect the others, so she would be the only one arrested bc of the explosion. Vander found out and decided to take her place, they arrested him bc they knew he wouldn't let them take Vi but at the same time they needed to arrest someone bc of this so they had to take the offer of arresting him in the place of the kids
it only gets better from here. and we all cried at that ending, just wait till when you get to the season finale lmao
oh god, is this show gonna break me even more? 😭😂
@@KirsharReacts just have tissues prepared for later episodes is all imma say
This episode is where it starts to get real. Such a rollercoaster of emotions.
Hey.
i loved to see how the show finally got to you! getting more immersed and overwhelmed by the feekings, and getting into the characteurs skins: silko and vander, jinx and vi
But a really aplaude you for seeing the "it was too easy breaking in" moment, and your "is silko caring or manipulating her or both" was brilliant. it took me weeks to sort it out.
This episode is where a great show becomes one of the best animated creations in history period.
The "she is so sexy" at mel lmaoo. Same dude, same. You're so real for that. My bi ass was practically saying "mommy?" Every time she entered a scene when i first watched it loll😂😂
Edit: 15:08 "no you can't. Go to bed powder!" Heh... if only.. if only she did :,)
Holy shit was this reactions amazing!! Your emotion, your surprise. The sheer bafflement at the end song where you had no words.. big mood. First time watching i was as devastatedly speechless as you were. And the fact you actually listened to the end song is also a big plus as many reactors pause it there but the song just enhances the whole experience/mood so much i'm so glad you let it play out!
Anyhow sorry for this essay. Twas a good reaction. Thanks for the reactions man! You're awesome and def earned a sub! Have a great day(uωu 人)💕

I love how they manipulate people's emotions with crazy highs and crazy lows all being thrown at you one after another. I almost spat out my coffee when you ordered Powder to bed!
LMAOO, SHE SHOULD. HAVE WENT. TO BED LOL
"I hope thats not the last ti- let me not Jinx it"💀💀ya jinxed it bro
This is quite an episode. You know the show is good, but after this episode you realize it's just mind fucking blowing
For you to know, those weren't multiple explosions, they showed the same one multiple times to show the damage it was doing in different directions, it was one single explosion.
Great reaction! Welcome to the rollercoaster of emotions that is Arcane! Hold on tight and enjoy the ride!!!!!
the ride is getting too much, this show is insane 😭😂 thanks so much for the support, i appreciate it!
"GO TO BED POWDER" that had me dying idk why 😂 very entertaining reactions
😂 i was becoming real strict with her LMAO. I'm really glad you're enjoying the reactions homie!!
People forget Vi is only a couple years older than Powder; she’s a kid, too.
Ekko was Powder age as well she would’ve not taken him 😭
I dont know how I came to this, because I have played league for 10 years.
League of Legends is now an allstar brawl game, where the lore is actually extremely deep and complex now.
They have hinted at Arcane in their trailers, new voiceline for characters, and artwork... since 2015... That's how far back the League community has dug back to for references for this show.
This episode is life changing shit . Everytime i see how she hits her and its literally what this episode do to audience .

Went to the store and came back to episode 3 dropped.... And i can see it hit hard with you... Great show even if you hate the game.... Amazing what around 70 million dollars can produce... Also long time no see
Money is not everthing though, thinking of Rings of Power here for example. Lots of passion by both the Riot and Fortiche people involved made this great.
haha long time no see indeed. episode 3 was crazy, i still don't know how to feel.. so emotional.
pretty sure it was 100 million +

LoL is not only a game, it has lores and a bunch of cinematics too! You can hate the game but I really appreciate if you learn or react to them. It's really interesting I promise!! 😄
After i finish watching Arcane, i might give some LoL cinematics a reaction! I'm just not sure which are the best ones. But i appreciate the support, thank you!
@@KirsharReacts Check out one of their other games, 'Ruined King: A League of Legends Story'. It's on Steam and it's only 29.99.

3:49 When someone is in your way when walking on the sidewalk and they won't move
The base violence necessary for change.
Perfect Voice Acting,
Swain about Jinx: Faces, fading in the flames. It was all her fault.
22:52 famous last word

Existential crisis in 3, 2, 1...
Yeah, Arcane defies reality. This show has no reason to be so good.
I have a feeling that this episode won't be the last existential crisis episode i'll experience 😭😂
EMOTIONAL DAMAGE
IM HURTING. MY HEART. MY BRAIN. I DONT KNOW HOW TO FEEL
@@KirsharReacts I wish I could say it gets easier kiddo, but I’d be lying
the emptiness on Goodbye. yes. welcome to the misery.
I realized after sending my comment that I'm way too biased towards Silco to have this discussion 😂😂
But there's some dialogue that suggests that Piltover had them (at least Silco and Vander's generation) working in the mines from a fairly young age with even worse air quality and bad work conditions so I guess I felt like Silco was justified in his plans towards Topside. Since they won't listen to the complaints from people of the Undercity, maybe they'll actually respond to "the base violence necessary for change".
To be fair: if you're being strangled and you have a knife, it's probably a good idea to start stabbing them
Howd you sense the trap? They just about spell it out for you right before you said that too 😂
All I'm hearing at the end there is that good things were happening top side while the undercity suffered. ... Seems about par for the course there, don't you think?
the lanes are Zaun.
Is Silco trying to manipulate Powder, or does/will he love her? Quite a question my guy
“I feel like that’s a farewell…. Nope I’m not gonna JINX it…”
All of us in the audience: 🫠
i totallly feel you man! and yes, it is a masterpiece. :)
well it's may not her fault to kill everyone, but it's definitely her fault to not listen to her sister 🙄
yeah, i know she didn't mean to kill everyone, but if she just listened to Vi man 😭 SMH

It's not really peaceful when the enforcers still have free reign to gestapo their way through the underground, and when the underground has no political representation. Vander isn't a pacifist. He's a quitter.
